@@GlassNet I don't want to know how many hours I put into that game😅 Specially since I've been playing Yu-Gi-Oh since the beginning of time ( back when Upper Deck made the American cards).
Golden Age of gaming? today? who ever had thought that once..this is not the golden age of gaming. gaming is garbage at the moment. i cant believe you just said that
That’s because we have some of the best games come out in 2016-24. Better graphics gameplay etc. stories are about the same depended on game. And more people are gaming and it’s a lot easier to get in as has low entry. I agree there were some good games earlier but overall except cash grabs it quite good
Seeing TF2 on a list all these years later is just amazing and a hit right in the childhood. It really is a testament to Valve's abilities. My most played game by them is BY FAR Counter-Strike: Source. I had so much fun on that game back in the day, both in pubs and competitive servers. I still have the boxes for it and The Orange Box as well.
Warframe always seemed super appealing to me but I remember trying it years ago and being turned off by the progression system. Is it worth another shot in 2023/24?
The key to playing Warframe is to give yourself a goal each time you play, too many people try to do as much as possible in one playthrough and burn themselves out and then don't want to play the game again
I'd say Apex Legends and Halo Infinite are my personal favorites but I'm happy to see free to play games be their quality nowadays... Also Enlisted can be fun!
Toxicity is in every moba because moba is highly dependent on team unlike other games..comapred to lol and dota 2 smite is much better if u see Toxicity...but dota and lol have been around for long so player base and money in those games are uncompared by any other games in all genre @@CardForCard
@@MalikATLMaybe that's the whole point of it. They're not trying to be cod or bf even though it's made by former dice employees. But mass destructions are still there.
Path of Exile literally has no competition in the ARPG genre in my honest opinion. 10 years worth of content with consistent quarterly updates and with Affliction league coming up in a week changing the way a lot of the popular builds work means nearly a fresh start for the entire community. Even better all Microtransactions are either strictly cosmetic or very heavily QoL. You can't beat it as a f2p game really.
I wouldn't say without competition. Path of Exile 2 is around the corner, and like it or not, it IS competing with Diablo 4 (or I guess the other way around... :P). You also can't really put something like Grim Dawn and Last Epoch (Whenever the latter is released) under the radar too. Path of Exile will always be a solid ARPG. But if you aren't into it's build style of focusing on 1 particular spell, then it is really not for you (in fact, I'd say if you want your build to matter with more than 1 active skill for damage dealing, then Grim Dawn is more for you)
Warlander has been an interesting game. It leaves the team’s tactics and squad roles up a vote at the beginning. So you know what your squad is meant to do and how your team is gonna play. The 5 teams of 20 players matches are a ton of fun to do.
Not sure if War Thunder really should be one this list considering their most recent debacle from early this year. Especially considering the devs responded with telling the players don’t understand how F2P games work and then threatening to shut the servers down.
exactly and wargaming products are not good choices either. also one thing about wargaming products there not as grindy as he said if you have premium time and get a good premium tank/ship
Well i couldn't play War Thunder today because of server issues caused by the 200k players active atm, people really like that game, but yes... if you don't buy Premium vehicles or account time u won't see a good progress and will get "bored" kinda because of it.
Avoid Star Trek Online at all costs.. it’s a complete waste of money and everything of any use is locked behind a paywall. Not to mention the in-game economy is controlled by the player base so a few very rich players control the entire market in both the item exchange and the dilithium exchange. It’s terrible!
Some other games worth it are Valorant, Overwatch 2, and RuneScape. RS can be hella addicting and is extremely grindy but lot of cool people to talk to on there. Personally I'm not a huge fan of OW2, played OW1 since 2016 and I'm not a huge fan of 5v5 but I know a lot of people still enjoy it. Valorant is super popular nowadays and has a high skill ceiling. Can be super toxic at times but still pretty fun!
Smite isn’t free, it takes you sanity away and your will to live. Also buy the god pass, bought it when it came out decade ago and still get free gods worth it
Warzone 2 looks great, but is confusing as hell to play through. Diablo 4 is a pretty look piece of trash. There is STILL no endgame. Path of Exile absolutely destroys it in almost every way. Path of Exile 2 ... I'm waiting to see how Dan Wilson screws that up.
Interesting video. Never thought you would include TF2. It seems like a game from some other time. Too bad you didn't include Valorant. Valorant is a more refined game than CS, and CS2 is copying lots of features from it.
I love MechWarrior Online, i havnt played for a while but have over 3,600hrs invested. Its the only fps game ive played with no obvious cheaters and its not pay2win.
Brother you miss. Efootball. This is old game off Konami PES series. Has a big community playing over the whole world. You can play on a high level with zero money.
Halo Infinite has turned into one of the best Halo games of all time. I thoroughly enjoy playing more than I did on the old Halos. Definitely worth a try for anyone reading this comment
@@PackerManForLife Im scared that 343 is gonna see how it flopped on launch and go "well we got the multiplayer wrong" and do the whole fuck up cycle over again. Not a fan of how they did the armor cores and locked colors behind unlocks but the core gameplay is fantastic no doubt
For real. Halo infinite multi-player is hands down the best in halo history, as a whole (a bit of a sweat fest, but that's because older video games were slower paced movement). But man, there's so much content and easily the best FPS multilayer of any game since the halo 3, black ops Era. Oh, and I miss KILLZONE! Loved kz2 so much.
pretty sure u mean wowp and wows there in the end but i disagree. I played all games and honestly i think war thunder is great just like wows and wot are great in their own respective ways. But I understand the argument that war thunder just appears to have more quality overall. Wowp is just garbage tho :()
yah wowp is trash along with planes and im more of the hyper realistic guy so i love the tiny details so its more on opion but warthunder is way more realistic though@@Yee20234
Another game in a similar vein to War Thunder (but way better) that is technically free but very limited if you don't spend any money on it is DCS, Digital Combat Simulator. It's a flight sim fighter pilot combat game (think MSFS with fighter jets and attack helos, lol), and it's amazing. For free, you get one (huge) map and 2 planes (one semi-modern jet and one WWII plane), which isn't a lot. Also all of the DLC/buyable planes and helicopters are REALLY expensive, but that's only because literally everything is there. All the buttons in the cockpits are mappable/interactable, and everything is detailed extremely well.
your first purchase of a mod/plane is %50 off. lso there are lots of free community mods like the a4e. also there are affordable mods too, like the fc3 set. there are also sale all the time
Im surprised Valorant and Overwatch 2 arent on the list. At the very least I'd say Overwatch shook up the gaming space when it came out and Valorant was also a nich free change of pace from CSGO.
wth are you talking about, Overwatch essentially copied what the game Paladins had already done.... There was no shaking up of the game space because Paladins had ALREADY done it. Paladins is also FARRRR better than Overwatch in every way and is also Free to play. You probably just didn't hear about the game because its not made by a big box developer.
@@resresres1 Look I'm as disappointed in Blizzard as much as any other guy but the Overwatch vs Paladins comparison has never held up, Overwatch was such an extremely polished game offering far more than Paladins ever did. I get that Overwatch was ruined but you're talking about apples to oranges.
@@thedofflin I don't think you ever played Paladins if you think overwatched offered more. The depth of gameplay is far greater in paladins due to the cards and item game systems Overwatch gameplay is shallow in comparison.
I was pretty big into Mechwarrior Online. There are occasional changes, but it is easy enough to hop back into agter a hiatus. The best part is that, even if you don't spend any real money on it, the in-game events often reward you quite well for participation. In short, it scratches a giant robot game itch, plus gives an outlet for Battletech lovers.
Starcraft II for RTS genre. While it does have some microtransactions it is still a great game as it is. You can do Co-op missions with another random player or play the classic RTS style game or even play player made custom games in SC2.
@@Starmarine1892 Does updates make a game? no, it doesnt. Bloodhunt is fully playable and with fair share of content in it already. The game may not get new updates, as battlepasses and classes... but they still active, added new clothes to shop, changed some items. (oh yeah and added the snow for winter) It wont be shutting down, you can read about it in their Community Newsletters (new one comes every month or two). How should Splitgate 2 be on the list of best free 2023 games, when its not out yet?
Battle teams 2 is my new main game.. Its coming out on steam global soon so many new players. its a f2p fps no pay2win. Everything from casual TDM, Ranked matches to an insane PVE zombie mode with tons of maps and content. Hopefully it will be a hit in EU/NA because its starting to become HUGE in both China, SEA, TR and RU.
Where does it sit on the arcade vs. hardcore/tactical spectrum? Is it more like CoD or a little more realistic? I don't like games where everyone is bunny hopping and sliding around everywhere. And I like a game with a slightly longer time to kill. I see I can download it but it's not on Steam yet in North America as you said.
@@Acheron.426 I would say its tactical like any competitive fps without being annoying. Great movement and fast TTK. Try search up battle teams 2 focus he makes some cool montages of the games ranked mode and is a very good player.
How's the player base in NA right now? I just looked up their website and it looks fun just not sure about downloading it from their website the file looked a little sus.
@@cvltgamer7896 It looks a little sus but I installed it no problem. Menus and stuff are in English even though it looks like it won't be. Haven't played with others yet just launched the game and messed around. Looks ok so far.
@@cvltgamer7896 I dont know about NA since there are no NA servers yet. But from experience there are always few NA players on f2p shooters like this one :)
Not mentioning Starcraft and/or Starcraft 2, or any game from the classic RTS genre for the hardcore gamers is alone enough for me to give this a thumbs down. Also, no offense, but these are just the most popular, not necessarily the best free to play games. The Title is thus kinda clickbaity for some mentions in this video. P.s.: no, I don't consider it mentioning a game just by throwing it's name in a sentence as a reference for another game
PUBG hardcore? That combat is so watered down from where it's dna lies. Also Team Fortress wasn't cartoony. Graphics just were what they were in the nineties. Sequel's early prototypes looked like battlefield.
Which game is best for an adult beginner of first person shooters? Where I don’t have to speak on mic (don’t wanna be harassed for being a (beginner) woman)
fortnite is the best BR by far. Especially the zero build option. Most fun ive had in a while. Valorant is decent. Pubg is stail used to be my favorite & everything else is trash or depressing like tarkov.
War thunder is not a good game because of what they did and what they most likely will keep doing and progression with only the same modes that have existed for so long. I still play it. Times where i have fun but still left just not really gaining much out of it. Its fun for like 3-4 missions, but then kinda just lose my interest.
i wonder why so many if not most streamers have a problem when they mention Fortnite. Its the BR with the most numbers and its not only kids. i'm an old man and oh this game is HUGE. in all the other Brs you wait sooo long for lobbies and you're almost guaranteed a cheat or 50
Dont try destiny 2. They laid off over half their staff because they blamed the consumer for not buying enough. Just give bungie the middle finger and play something else.

mentioning card games without Legends of runeterra is a sin , the game is amazing with high quality art , and u can play the game competitively without spending a dime on it , u can earn any card u want by purchasing it with in game money u earn by playing not like other card games where u have to buy packs in hope to get the card u want
Glad to see a game being listed that actually deserves it on your channel. The finals betas are my number 1 pick for funnest time i had playing a fps since TF2 pre bot infestation. It is such a breath of fresh air and imo one of the best iterations on the fps genre in well over a decade. It’s on track for releasing this month. I highly recommend anyone who likes fps games but either doesn’t like BRs or is sick of them to check it out and definitely play when it launches.
Halo: Infinite is doing well as a free MULTIPLAYER game, but they haven't TOUCHED the singleplayer campaign since launch. No DLC whatsoever, no new missions, ANYTHING.
