For MMORPGs, I mostly just played Blue Protocol over the past month (still not banned lol). Got burned out of gachas (NIKKE, HSR, Eversoul, and recently Snowbreak) due to my horrendous luck, and have been playing non-MMO games for a change of pace. Also tried going back to Maplestory, ROSE Online, and Eden Eternal, but was overwhelmed with all the content so I kinda stopped.
runescape is not f2p its free to try o you want a bond thats 63m for 14 days that is at best 40 hours of perfect tick grinds o your new add a extra 40 hours just to try members and be broke because nothing on early game members makes you enough to buy back that bond without basically 40 hours if not more of grind and thats if you knew what you where doing or you could play albion
my main problem with most mmorpg's is that they don't feel like an mmo whatsoever, like you can just remove the mmo part and call it a single player rpg because the game world is filled with lifeless AI and you'd have an easier time finding human interaction in the amazon rainforest
As an 18 year old with no way of getting money aside from the couple part time jobs, and using the money on food and my needs in school, Even tho I want to play World of warcraft, but can't due to the fact I have to pay 14$ monthly if I want to play it, It's not worth it, I rather play a free to play game and just enjoy myself with playing instead of worrying about the players around me being better than me, I play for the fun of it. I wanted to play FFXIV and wow, I have both tried the free trial but the limitations and the thought that if I can just find enough money to at least pay just made it unbearable for me. So Instead of that, I play, Tower of Fantasy, Toram online, Flyff, Albion online, MMOs that are free to play and can be enjoyed despite being free.
Depends on the game… PSO2 new genesis for example ive yet to find anything you can buy thats worth the money… there aint anything so imma endup finishing it without spending a penny
So I normally would agree but the garbage monetization is now creeping into games that are upfront entry cost, its the greedy blizzard right now with a battle pass on a 70$ game with a 100$ option 🤷🏻 im sure there are other examples now 🤦🏻♂️
@@NoobAnimeSinger they revamped their monetization model to free-to-play a while back with optional microtransactions like most of the popular mmo's nowadays. I wouldn't play it if it were subscription based like it used to be.
What happened to great games from back in the day like Perfect World International. I know its still playable but games like that kept you playing. Now some of us are stuck with ESO, Guild Wars, or BDO due to nothing else here yet. Not that those are bad games but we have been on them for years. Developers need to take a step back and look what lured some of us into those games.
guys the elder scrolls online is free now on epic games , i believe if you get it now you keep it forever , the offer ends on the 27th, please like the comment so more people can see it
Everyone on SEA who haven't know if available on this region or not; Star Wars: TOR (Yes) Mabinogi (No, available US and other regions) Lost Ark (No) Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis (Yes) Runescape (Yes) Maplestory (No) DC Universe Online (Yes) Vindictus (No) Everquest (Yes) Dungeon Fighter Online (Yes) Tower Of Fantasy (Yes) Guild Wars 2 (Yes) Blue Protocol (Upcoming soon but probably yes I hope)
I'd include secret world legends not even as an mmo, but as a story game. It's nice if you like myths and conspiracy theory type stories. Minus the aliens, for some reason the devs specifically said they don't want to ever add aliens.
I dropped Tower of Fantasy quite a while back, but recently updated it because the 3.0 area looks amazing! I like the game, but even though it's not an mmo, i sink most of my free time into Genshin Impact. Also trying to get back into GW2. I really, really, really want to be hooked on GW2 but for some reason i keep dropping it and keep coming back over and over.
Same I dropped ToF once and donwload it again since a lot of people tallk about it on Tiktok how ToF improved a lot..... so I kind of expect a lot from it. But unfortunately it still suck... Gameplay still the same especially the bossfight just messy af.... Boss just random spamming shit as always....the only things they improve is graphic? it just look the same to me, new character Skills effect just flashy and messy, some character body look so wierd... She looks like fighter but her body type so thin wtf, I actually tho she looks like stickman 😂
for GW2 same here try couple time that game give chance, i dont compere GW2 with other game but some how i miss something, like when i hook up with 1 think other thing disappoint me. i am fun of profession (not classes) and i find system is somehow stupid, if there is lack of nodes in world why they dont make garnnison-shop personal where you hire npc for specific profession and pey them for work done.
@@khairulhafiz8418you haven’t properly played the game then lol. The animations aren’t messy at all and the bossfights aren’t rabdomly spanming shit. You at least should have a better understanding of the game before shitting on it
man it would have been great to play these games if i was not in the middle east and i get 150+ ping and its kinda funny that vindictus is the only i was going to try but i cant since its blocked in my Region it truly is a immaculate feeling being a middle eastern and liking MMOs at the same time
Not all MMOs require low ping to be fun. From my experience GW2 is fine up to 200ms ping, but not sure how it fares at a higher ping, and probably some other MMOs are fine at that ping too, however I don't know about them currently.
@@ahmedtag3904 I see... If you don't mind shooter games then I think Valorant has a server in Bahrain so your ping from middle east should be very low if you connect to that server
Vindictus was great and lively game 5~10 years ago, its now on life support from perverted whales, and overall its not really worth your time as it can close at any moment by the looks atleast in West. Still offers action combat which is almost double fast than when the game was released.
@@SougoUltimateSadist Yes Still I Will Not Be Able to Play future MMOs PVP Competitively, Hell I Might Not Be Able To Even Play PVE Because i get 200/300 ping Because i Was Borin On The Wrong Side Of Planet And Its Honestly Sad Since My Only Drive In MMOs Or Its Grinding Was To Be Strong Enough To PVP ..... When I Went To Play Fortnite(I HATE SHOOTERS BUT STILL ITS GOT A MIDDLE EASTERN SERVER) I WON MY 1st Match And Managed To Get Unreal Rank in Two Months So It`s Extremely Sad That My Potential And Enjoyment Of Most MMOs Is Gated Because I Was Born On The Wrong Side Of The Planet ....
I don't think this is an option due to one reason, there are no official servers online ATM, but a Game called ASDA ( not the British Walmart lookalike) published I'd say in 2010 maybe I'm wrong was the best MMO game i played growing up ( i don't play games alot now that I'm a father and responsible-ish ) 😅 i just wish someone the size of mr stick would take a glance at it .
I once play Vindictus using VPN since there's no SEA version of the game. The combat gameplay was the best one I have ever play.... but I can only play singleplayer... I cant play with public or even my friends cause of its lag so much, unless if you host. 😅I really want to play it again but my VPN doesnt work 😢
there is an unofficial server called Windictus with W, totally free from vpn and cosmetics, but not every content in.... sadly give it a look, see if you like it tough
i love how all of these are all tried and true classics because all of the rest have literally blown ass ever since I've been on the site for 15 years now.
@leetaiming64 Final Fantasy 14 is first because it's basically a perfect mmo in my eyes excellent story, great gameplay, awesome raids etc. Plus very supportive developers that actually care about it's players (mean glare at blizzard) so yeah ff14 is my most favorite mmo of all time and it will remain that way
I just downloaded it and might also just uninstall it. How can you get into it?! It seems too complicated and overwhelming to get into and lots of shit shoved into your face and you don't know what to do with it all.
@@tyresselittle747 No they care about the casual players more than the normal players. That's why every classes was dumbed down that they're so boring to play now. Even tanking is way too easy as compared to the old days when keeping aggro was actually a challenge because you built aggro and not just instantly have it, because you have tank buttons. I dunno. I quit 2 months ago after playing since 1.0 because it's just not fun anymore... making it too easy was a major let down imo.
I really like the content since the beginning of this channel. Sadly the genre is dead 😂. I am turning30 , I work in the game industry and I was a top player while DN was still one of the best MMO out there back in 2011.... it is a shame I still see the SAME titles there... untouched 😅... this is it? Bad gameplays ,bad graphics and bad/old game mechanics with old economics?! We are lacking of new and fresh releases with new action gameplay ... we are waiting Blue protocol since what? 2016?😅 And we are considering ToF an MMO LOOOOOL that has world bosses 1s a week?!... or Wayfinders that is a 3people party with no actual world bosses.... we are lacking of a good and healthy PvE oriented MMO with an actual cool gameplay 😂. Maybe we are not too many for the game industry😢 I honestly don't have time to waste in my 30s on old games with old gameplay and old graphics... there is TONS of possibilities out there to be implemented but no one is asking for... instead we play Geshin Impact paying 8k dollars for a characters😂 while shouting "the F2P" is a "p2w" 😂😂 we are the cause why the industry is not providing good games 😂 . I am really deluded by the target audience of MMOs.... the more I work in the game industry the more I understand why companies have stopped risking creating new games with new mechanics... Guys Vindictus is still in this video like maple Story.... this is just ridiculous... Imagine going to eBay or Amazon and find out the best mobile phone on 2023 is the Iphone4 or the Nokia 3310😅... Great products but cannot compare to new ones 😂... At this point I get why people are 99% on MOBAs or BR or shooting games or PvP... at least there is some "try" on that side😂 we are ,an MMO community, thankful to get more than 3 skills in an MMO LOOOOOL 😂what happen to all of us😂. Sorry for the little long post but after 18y following MMOs it am super deluded 🎉.
Honestly considering I still play mmorpgs exclusively, it';s the younger generation. Too many players are social anxiety types and for some reason that translates into mmorpgs so too many end up not grouping up playing solo and it seems a lot of the devs recognize this and pander to them so what once used to be a genre where grouping up was a must and playing with people was the way to play... Well now it's "Hey we have a game where you can play with others, however we're going to make it so you never EVER have to interact with another player even once! Come play!" It's stupid.
@@hobbitpsi if we have to go full philosophy/anthropology , humans are rewarding more and more the individuals more than the team afford. I work as a Lead Artist for indie companies and I struggle a lot even in my job. Despite there are many eSports that are trying to fix the team-work ,MMORPG are not appealing since it AI right? Humans love to fight against each other for no reason. Collaborating for killing a complex boss, it is by far out of the scope for the actual playerbase. Also, if you want to add some more toxicity, there is all the MALE problem regarding the "COC*yness".... Killing people is "cool". Killing a monster ,tsk ,is for kids. Only if it is like Elden Ring/Soul like is "male enough".... You can try to argue against this PoV but it is futile .... Sadly people that enjoy working together will be always come later in a society fille by RU-vidr/Fashion Divinity/Stars and so on. Honestly,I feel super thankful to be old enough that I had the chance to be a part of the MMO trend back in 2000-2015.:)
@@attakforce93 Ok your whole outlook on "Male" this and "Male" that is not really that accurate in this day an age considering there are a lot more female gamers and good majority of them play shooters and mmorpgs. Actually if you want to get technical, there are far more males that play mmorpgs. Also your assumption of killing monsters is considered for kids is proven wrong looking back at Skyrim and now with Baldur's Gate 3 beating out literally every game that released. Like I don't know what factors you gained your opinion on, but for me it's actually talking to gamers in real life as well as in games, and I'd place more weight on my findings than yours.
@@hobbitpsi without stepping in an argument I don't want to handle for multiple reasons. You got triggered by a little human connotation that is actually a social global issue xD so okkey... Believe what you want to believe. Despite your POV that is actually limited as well since you are a human living in your own little world, as I am, please take a look at statistics... Top 100 steam games = PvP games with minority of actual MMO/coop games Top 100 steam games = majority of MALE players (still 2023). Then it comes to my experience as Lead Artis for companies like Microsoft so yeah I think I know a bit:). But hey if you think you are living in a nice , balanced world, again I am no one to go against your opinion. I find your reply quite useless since I was talking about some problems even Nexon or Tencent expose to the players. The competition especially in esport is absolutely not different from the actual Sport...(look at soccer). Again, I was with you , I agree with your reply, then you went fully bonkers.🤔 Sorry about that and merry xmas:)
@@attakforce93 Ok cool, but basically my point was just because you work in an industry doesn't make you an expert or know everything about it. I was in the Army for years and that doesn't mean I'm an expert tactician or warrior. Hell I worked in HR and cyber security but that doesn't mean I'm an expert in those fields. Basically it was more the idea that facts are better found by getting a literal consensus to make a case.
Guild Wars 2 is Buy to Play game with best Free Trial model allowing you to reach level cap and experience all core content In case you argue Guild Wars 2 is Free to Play so is Final Fantasy 14 👍 Both games require you to buy expansions to gain access to end game content but because GW2 choose to not raise the level cap it is considered Free to Play while FFXIV is considered to have Free Trial? They do the Free to Play aspect in identical manner in my opinion thus if one has Free Trial both has free trial. Actually FFXIV Allows you to access Core Game and Expansions so it offers more value for Free to Play player 😏 and GW2 does not hav Subscription making it Buy to Play 😂 but that is my opinion which I will fight as fact. Even ANet the GW2's publisher says it is Free to Play when I think they should call it Buy to Play with best Free Trial on market 😉 makes it sound better.
I highly recommend runescape and old school runescape. I've played osrs for a few months and it's very fun but very grindy. I've switched to runescape 3 and it's a lil bit more fun in my opinion mainly because of the archeology skill and that it is very hand holdy
I've recently started ToF and can see why it's better for the non f2p people but it's still fun either way but it's just there as a break away from ff14 or gw2 depending on my mood. And I can say I agree the base gane alone is worth every hour you put in and the price of expansions isn't too bad and it gives you a coin for each one to boost a new toon to lvl 80 but don't advise doing so until you've played at least 1 character for the whole experience, and it has class variation like no other game, yes there a bit of meta builds to it but you can play how you want to and still be a viable choice.
It's better then have Months to wait until I can play FF16. So go play that or Spiderman 2. I'm in pain because I have to wait for ToF to come to PS5 (it'll be there before the end of the year unlike FF16 & Spiderman 2 on the PC side).
It's a buy to play game.. But even buying it is cheap as hell. either 10 bucks or steam constantly has it on sale. Hell it's been 99 cents for this whole month.
This is a really nice list. 👍 I'll definitely be returning to SWTOR. I'm surprised Blade & Soul isn't on the list. It's also a really fun game to return too. 🙂
Hyped up for BP, might try Mobinogi sometime, but I'm still sad 2 MMO's I enjoyed quite a bit closed down, Trickster Online, and MapleStory 2. I really hope I can get the same feeling I got from those games in Blue Protocol
You forgot 3 games one EVERQUEST 2 which just the other day got massive updates for ftp players so now you can go to kevel 110 for free which makes all but 4 expansions completely free along with the beastlord class and now merc system. You also forgot POE it's technically a MMO and you also forgot WARFRAME!! the only modern completely ftp non ptw mmo to date besides POE
poe is heavily p2w, u cannot really play lategame without stashes, u will get stuff 20 times slower than people with stashes and literally will spend half ur game time making storage alts and selling stuff / trading currency 😅😅
im still playing old archage and lord of the rings f2p games.. thanks for the info on what is f2p i try some of them you posted it not for me but im sure some one will like them
Unpopular opinion, Bless Unleashed is a good F2P MMO. It may not be populated with a lot of players but if you have a friend or two you can definitely have a lot of fun
PSO2 NGS has no content and the Playerbase (on Steam) is at 2800 now across 4 Ships. Adding it into a "best" MMO list must have been a mistake. Lost Ark has alot of Content buuuuuut because of the "IMMENSE" Gatekeep the game has you wont do much in one session or get anywhere anytime soon in endgame. In fact you will sit at the same Content for weeks or even months without advancing or activating your credit card. Vindictus depending on where you live is unplayable. No Really i am from EU and the NA servers they use are so bad i cant connect and i know many people with the same issue. And if you manage getting in the Input Lag is gonna make in unplayable anyways. So i would advice anyone a hard pass on those 3 games unless you really and i mean really dont have ANYTHING better to do in your live. Watch P*rn,get a hobby or even play Diablo4 but DONT waste time you could spent literally ANYWHERE else with those 3 games.
elder scrolls online now is free on epic games i will try it out later, although i'm addicted to blue protocol also waiting for global release as well but i'm just having fun
I saw Charon in the thumbnail and had to come here and say don't jump into Vindictus 2023. The game is hanging by a thread by a handful of men who need to touch grass that spend $400 USD for jiggly catsuit outfits. The population is so lacking they're even talking about merging the North American and European servers. If you don't have an existing group to play that isn't extremely cringe you'll end up quitting as farming anything is difficult because the game is dead and bots are keeping the economy alive.
Stix I'll have you know that according to steam charts Champions Online has a 30 day average of 94.9 players. Assuming that rounds out to 100, there's a non-zero chance that you've offended 0.000275% of your subscribers. Your channel might be doomed!
best f2p mmorpg for me is albion lul no boring story and mission and also is a full loot pvp game, all gear potion were make by player also paying in game wouldnt make u stronger just make u become a juciy target for those gang in pvp zone
TOF was cool havent touched it since around the time they made it so you have to queue for certain things and were locked in place that killed it for me. but on top of that you are time gated idk if that still a mechanic needing to wait 48 irl hours for a quest or chest to open but that was a bad and unfun thing because as someone who started on day 1 launch it was awful not being able to play with my friends who were waiting the 24 hour timer that i just waited to continue progress. if they changed these 2 things its a great game if not then its really not worth it ( plus the other game ruining stuff like laggy pvp )
i dont understand why runescape membership is not permanent..the game is fun but gyatdaamm seems like wasting my money and it will be wise to not playing it. Is jagex was that poor??
Yes, romancing MPC’s that’s one of the important parts of every MMO. I don’t plan on MMO unless I can romance some and some anime big titty character in in an MMO that’s a rule.
unless swtor expansions are free now it's not a true f2p game. blue protocol isn't even released in the west yet and i know damn well most people have no want to jump through a bunch of hoops to play. runescape is as well not really f2p because it locks a huge amount of content behind a monthly sub
Yes and no. The f2p is essentially a free single player rpg with a huge story campaign, but the MMO aspect with gear progression is locked behind a subscription so its TECHNICALLY free, but not really a free-to-play mmo.
Which games on this list that are single hand friendly? Meaning it can be played with either only left hand or right hand. Because you know, some of us have disability. I just started Toram Online for PC, and so far I can play it with one hand (using mouse and num pad). So I wonder if there are any other MMO that can do the same thing.
Runescape claims "285 Million Players" (4:41). If they had 1/1000 that number, they'd have to own almost every server on Earth. Sea of Thieves pulls the same crap: they claim some 35,000,000 players, but there servers have 21,000 at BEST, after a content drop and at peak hours. Sorry, lies are lies. Hard to believe an equivalent of 85% of the United States population is playing Runescape right now.
its probably the dumb shit where they relate downloads to users. So its probably that they have 285 million people who have downloaded the game at one point rather than actually actively play the game
Tried most of these games. I end up right back at World of Warcraft. I just settle for the fact that there isn't anything as good. Maybe someday and that will have to be World of Warcraft 2.
I would be excited but with remnant 2 and balders gate 3 literally around the corner I will not be playing any of these because my life is about to be full for about 5k hours maybe more depending on how much balders takes of my life
still waiting on game to rival Vinditus, Tera used to be fun replacement for that, but its 100% dead now... Also blue protocol had my hopes, but remembering how PSO ended up released to the rest of the world almost decade later an lost A LOT OF HYPE. Theres very little chance for me to play that.
