but i love yellow on cobra and mat on ping. well I'm waiting the end of covid to come in uk or fr to fit one. try to find Mark it will be great and sure of my shop
Here is what I would like to see. I would like to see driver tests done with a robot. Test them at different swing speeds and let the numbers speak for themselves. I am not interested in what a driver with an extra stiff shaft does at speeds I will never be able to come close to. I would also like to see how they perform with different flex shafts. I think that would be a test that most people would interested in seeing.
This is what I so enjoy about your content; honest appraisals, realistic advice, and fun banter. Buying a new driver this year and when the lockdown is over I'm trying Mizuno, Ping and Cobra.
Before watching I called Mizuno in the final. Every review from every channel always seems to hit it really well, even if it's not the total longest. Just always seems to show up and always wins on price. It would be on my short list to try for sure. 👍
Only 5 minutes in and have to jump on a conference call. I swear, I DO thoroughly enjoy watching Vids with you both. Just makes me smile. I miss Dan too. GET UP, DAN!!!!
My beloved Callaway BB Fusion has now developed a crack/ hole on the crown so slashed out on a Srixon 355 driver brand new for £129! This will go nicely with my Srixon 155 irons for £249 and Cleveland irons. Best clubs I've used over 35 years and the best value!
Absolutely one of the best youtube vids I've watched yet! And I watch a lot of vids on YT. And I really liked Mark's description of his overall choice. Great vid fellas.
I was fitted for a Mizuno two days prior to lockdown. My pro kindly gave me a demo club to test on the course before I committed to purchasing. Let’s hope he’s forgotten about that 😂 seriously the mizuno is a great club. I’ll give it back one day..... stay safe everyone
"family announcement" absolutely hilarious 🤣 I use the speedzone (standard) and really like it, sound, feel and looks however I really don't get on well with the shaft (tensei blue) at all, just swapped it out for a Hzrdus Smoke to help with the ball flight and my tendency to LASH at the ball.
Great video Mark. Love the new studio! One comment though, the Titleist TS1 isn't the highest MOI or "MAX" product in the Titleist driver lineup, it's simply the lightest. It's designed for golfers with slower swing speeds to help them swing faster - it also launches higher with more spin. Know you mentioned its potential inclusion briefly, but the TS2 is the highest MOI Titleist TS driver. Would have been nice to see how the TS2 fared on performance versus the others. Imagine Matt would have had more ball speed and lower spin than he did with TS1.
The winner is the golfer. He or She gets a multitude of excellent performing drivers in different styles and at different price points to suit most of them. You cannot really go wrong.
Great videos gents! I’m a low handicap player with similar speeds to Mark. I’ve recently tried all of them in a custom fit. I bought the SZ X, some things are very subjective...I loved the look and sound over all of them. As for the all important #s, SZ X was second to Mavrik but very close but no comparison of consistency and accuracy. I did get the PX yellow counter balance shaft and it made a big difference in my numbers. Distance, feel, and accuracy. Keep up the great work!
Been hitting the Taylormade R7 Limited w the Matrix Ozik for over 10 years. Always liked the weight, feel and sound and never needed to replace it. Used to play a lot back then, so forgiveness was never really an issue for me. Now I can't play as much and wanted something with more forgiveness. I just purchased the Mizuno ST200 because of the value coupled with that your testing showed very little variances. Another reason is I plan to switch my Taylormade irons to all Mizunos eventually.
Mark your sidekick has bumped his head. The Maverick it's his gaming driver. Should have used a stock shaft in it. Mizuno is clearly the best bang for the buck. TM is the king though. Best golfers in the world show that too. TM for life here. Great video!
Brilliant guys. Love watching Coach squirm over Callaway lol. Personally, after watching the reviews from yourselves, it has to be the Mizuno for me. Love the look (always have) and the price is perfect. When all this bad stuff has gone away, I will be treating myself to a new driver, this is my reward to me for adhering to the rules on Social distancing. Keep safe guys
I may be in the minority here BUT for my swing/delivery/speed....I went TM and couldn’t be happier. Fitted M6 got the fitted G400max out of the bag last year and sim max was just an upgrade across the board vs M6.
I have hit them all in January and I preferred the TM SIM 1st and the Mizuno 2nd in both performance and looks. I made my choices without knowing the prices. Amazing that the Callaway and the Titleist are 50% more than the Mizuno. One and a half times more!!
I've just bought the mizuno st200x driver, 5 wood and 7 wood.... Can't wait to get on the course with them when this lockdown in Argentina is finally lifted
I bought a ping 410 driver, and ping 425 3 and 5 woods this weekend. Needless to say I am very happy. The driver sound is a little weird. It reminds me of hitting a baseball with an aluminum bat, has that hollow kind of metal sound. But I notice the harder you hit it the more a nice smack sound comes to it. Doesn't bother me at all though.
I would shortlist callaway, ping and mizuno on looks, buzz and past experience and then test for feel and performance 👍🏻 and be very happy with whichever was the winner.
I've never ever considered buying a Mizuno driver but next year I just might after watching this video. Always informative and comical videos. I like the "Let's get stuck in." lol
Good point made on the Mizuno. I was fit into a G410 but if I would of done my homework saw this video prior to I would of asked to get the ST200 into the fitting session. Thank you.
Ping all day will hit the Callaway further 1 out of 7 but will never as steady as the Ping. I play the G410 plus now really like it. Have hit the Mavrik and it goes but also in a lot of directions as well.
I am using the taylormade for a while but missing my ping g410. Ping have featured well in all of the reviews and performed well at a middle road price .
Be Mizuno for me. It’s about the score at the end. Nobody ever sat in the bar and when the monthly winning score comes in for the medal does any one say “aye but what clubs does he use”
Brought the ST200 before lockdown. Didn’t know it was cheaper when testing a few and that was the cherry on the top for me. Also like the fact it won’t be in many other bags!
Love this guys, we all love the price of the Mizuno and more companies should follow suit on the price instead of gauging us for one club. But my pick has to be Ping, I happen to be in the market for a driver and I actually like the look of these turbulators and the performance speaks for itself.
I don't know if you can beat a Ping driver. For price, performance, looks, brand prestige, and use on tour (if you care about such things) the Ping is my winner. Sound is its only weak spot in my opinion.
Will S I have the G410 in the bag and would agree regarding the sound initially. But having played a few rounds with it when it’s middled it gives a deeply satisfying pop! 💥 👍🏼
I have a brand new Ping G410+ with a Ping Tour 65S shaft since November but haven’t swung a club since Late October when i slipped on a mold covered boulder and tore my rotator rotator. Had surgery on 18 Dec (repaired my Infraspratus, but couldn’t repair my Supraspratus, botched up the spelling there, LMAO) and started my PT/rehab first week of Feb, 6 weeks after my surgery.. At least 2 more months before i can swing 100%.... Ive seen almost every RU-vid video on the G410+ and have to believe its one of the best performers for distance and forgiveness having one of the highest MOI’s of any driver from 2019 (maybe 2020 also). So i cant really pick any driver, would like to say Ping G410+, but the Mizuno ST200 MAX & Mavrik MAX would be definite choices to test against
Agree that mizuno has to be the winner on all around. Mavrik sounds so good though and seems to be a top performer. Do agree with coach, I do really like the Callaway Preowned site. Some great deals on there. Would love to see a Mavrik vs Rogue video just to see how little different there is in performance.
Dave Weedall honestly before you make that decision go in and try hitting many drivers, it all comes down to how comfortable you feel with the club. For instance I use Callaway maverick irons, but when trying drivers I couldn’t go past the TaylorMade Sim Max for me tried the maverick driver and did not like the feel of the club and the load noise it made when hitting the ball. This is my opinion though. Good luck with your game
Mark do a video with the Mizuno trying to get the potential out of the club. It would be really interesting to see how much more it would cost, if anything, to get the numbers up to match the rest of the longer hitting clubs. Great video as always! 👍🏼
I would buy the Mizuno. Had an MP600 and it was brilliant. I now play a Ping G400, but will probably go back to Mizuno. I play MP20’s, and now that Mizuno have a driver that competes with the “others” I will definitely look at it . Great videos guys. Keep em comin👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🏌🏼♂️🏌🏼♂️🏌🏼♂️🏌🏼♂️
Interesting vlog..was in the market this year for a new driver, but with a dam good chance of not much golf to be played delaying my purchase till next year. I am not a fly by night have to have the latest shiny precious thing. e.g current driver 2014 Cobra Bio Cell ..still love it..just it will be 7yrs old when I change it next year..and I'm hopeful 7yrs of tech will give me an extra 3-6yards!!!!..."oooo must have my 6yards"!!!...err if I put a decent swing on it...strike is king!...stay well everyone.🤒🏌️
I bought and play a Callaway, but how can you argue against the Mizuno. I truly believe that all of the manufacturers make good products, and it comes down to personal taste.
I absolutely love the Ping, my Dad has one, love the look behind the ball, love the sound, I don’t need the sound but love the scary factor it adds. I just can’t justify that money on a driver over family stuff when I already pay a membership.
Got to say lads, I'm always very sceptical about what these companies say about what clubs can actually do for your game, but last year I was fitted for the ping 410 sftec and now i play it out to the right knowing it'll draw draw back in. Total confidence in this club 👍
I have watched this a number of times. A couple of other considerations: 1. Matt's driver with his personalised shaft is far more than £449 2. The SZ although being a slower swing speed had similar ball speeds to the other drivers.
@@MarkCrossfield based on the information Mizuno or Ping. I like the looks of the Mizuno at a great price and as you always say Ping is a great all rounder but I have never liked looking down on those foils. Thank you for the response. Made my day in NZ. 😊
Good video. It came down to the huge difference in price. In all other categories there was always 2 or 3 in the race, but when it came to price the mizuno was a clear winner. For me average joe, id not worry about looks and sound, if it performs distance and deviation, then its down to price, end of.
its not anymore. It was when newly released. Proclubs.com had them for 85.00 until they ran out a couple of months ago. I bought (3) of the 6.5's. Sold them for 100.00 a piece and bought a Tour AD TP-6. Way better shaft.
Interesting Coach talked about the looks of the Mizuno...Seems to have a bit of the classic titleist mixed with the callaway carbon about it of which he liked both! personally I love how Mizuno maintained a classic vibe but made it look modern.
I am interested in how Coach always comes back to how it looks and how that overrides the performance for him... I would always want a club I like the look of but surely at our level of golf the performance and cost should be the key element not just aesthetics? Or this there an argument to be made for liking the looks of the club allowing the user to perform better with it?
I think the Callaway numbers to price ratio are to my liking but not a huge fan of the orange. I wish other companies would offer variations in color scheme...like cobra does.
I'd be more than happy to play the Mizuno if it felt right. I'm currently playing the Launcher HB Turbo and it wins on performance, visible tech, sound and price.
I have a hankering for the Mizuno ST 200 for the lie angle and loft adjustability, price and i like the looks of it ! Of coarse if i hit the lottery I'd look at the Ping as well.....
Anything winning other than the Mizuno would be a travesty - if these clubs all perform ‘the same’ for a faster swing speed pro, then for the person they’re aimed at, price should be the main consideration (looks and feel notwithstanding, but again they’re all similar in that regard). Add to that the amount of zero cost customisation Mizuno will do for shafts, grips etc and it’s a no brainer
I play G410 Plus and it's hands down easiest driver I have ever played. Like most players I don't hit the middle often but this club still makes the ball go!
I have had Ping irons for many years, but for some reason cannot get on with their woods, and find the new head distracting. I have a Callaway Rogue driver, but I would probably now go for the Mizuno as great value/performance ratio.
Callaway Maverik, Sound and performance, I don't care about the price when you spend $1,300.00 on a set of irons and hundreds of dollars on fairway woods and putters. I have decided over the years, if I don't get what I really like, I will always be saying I should have got the one I wanted. Then I will always be satisfied.
Can we go low tech and produce a whiteboard in the new studio with a table showing ticks and crosses for pro’s and con’s? You have state of the art touch screen (thanks foresight golf) and great setup, but your missing out on a whiteboard especially for all these comparisons.
I've got an st190, it's good, really good. It was cheaper than the other brands, but I loved its look, then I tested it and it was ace! So for the money to performance it was a no brainer. Others may have got a few extra yards, but 5 or 6 yds ain't worth 150 quid! 🙈
The struggle with mizuno is it's harder to get fit for, at least in the uk! I called around to a bunch of mizuno fitters in my area and most of them wanted £40 for a 1 hour fit on top of the price of the club. I know it's to weed out some tyre kickers and some do offer refunds, but it's not an ideal frame of mind to be thinking that if I go to test this driver and I go out and don't like it, it's still costing me money. Until they can get back into a space where the bigger chains like American Golf, who do free custom fits whether you buy or not, not as many people will be able to get their hands on and test them. And saying that I would and will probably go out of my way to get fit for one of the mizuno heads once this is all over and i've worked on my swing a bit more of course! :D
Trent Weisbach wouldn’t trust an AG fit, had one once and caught the lad tuning the track man on the club he obviously wanted me to buy. Can’t you go to a fitter who charges has the Mitzy but also other stock?
@@greasby1golf871 I'm thinking more about the customer in general than myself personally. Speaking strictly as for why the mizuno will struggle to sell as everyone keeps predicting: I think for a lot of people having to spend extra money on the fitting would put more pressure on buying the club and some people would be turned off by that. At least with a free fitting from AG you get a chance to hit the club a few times without being out of pocket if you decide not to buy. And if you are sceptical about AG fitters playing with your numbers you would at least have a vague reference point if you decide to go get a fitting at a pro shop/ fitting centre or some such
What I take from this is, buy the one that fits your eye and wallet. Then work on your ball striking. For amateur golfers (like me) that's where the big improvement will come from. Cheers😁
Well done guys. I’d go for the Mizuno. 👍 I’m considering buying it but I have to try it first. I’ve always got on with Mizuno drivers but am currently using a Callaway subzero at the moment.
Very interesting that the mavrik is the only fitted one and everything else is keeping up. I know it’s near impossible but would be very interesting seeing them all fitted for matt and the numbers after that. Everything’s just good isn’t it
I’ve had my Benross Evolution R now for nearly two years. I hit it really well, my dispersion is superb, and for the £199 I paid for it, it’s a blooming bargain bruhs! 😀👍🏌️♂️
Given the price of the Mizuno driver and its performance I would probably elect to go with it although Callaway is would be my first preference just on brand/performance Price not being a consideration. Don
