I want to make this finding clear: Whether or not you have looked at ghost girl 1 time or 100 times previously and even have been chased by her, when she spawns behind you again, as long as you don’t turn toward her, she won’t chase you!!! Other players DO NOT progress or affect ghost girl’s “times looked at”!!
Thanks! This is really good advice on how to deal with the opposite sex: 1. if you ever see girl, you should be very afraid. 2. avoid glancing at girl at all costs. if you hear girl, face away from her, ideally towards a wall 3. if girl approaches you, run away! you can jump over girl. if you run for 20 seconds, she will give up for the time being. 4. f you stay at base all the time working on terminal with your back to the wall, girl can't appear. 5. if girl touches you, your head explodes.
@kindertak5396 coil head can be heard at least, bracken are silent killers unless you spot them, which you can't spot if you cant turn around. The bracken alone is more a hindrance than dangerous, but mixed with other monster it instantly becomes much more problematic. Like coil head plus cracker is ass but doesnt feel as bad as bracken + cracker to me for instance
It’s really interesting how many enemies rely on slightly different mechanics built around how you look at them. It really adds a new level of fear when you come across say a combination of coil head and bracken or ghost girl and bracken
True. Coil head: Keep looking, don't break line of sight. Bracken: Look, but don't stare, quick glances. Ghost girl: you look at her and she now has the possibility of attacking you.
The first time I heard the “haunting noise” with the church bell in the distance I genuinely thought I was going insane. I knew about ghost girl, but I had never experienced the auditory hallucinations you experience when getting haunted, such as the distant church bell, or your friends’ speech becoming echoey and distant.
Fun girl fact to make you feel safe: She has a random number range 0-100 that is generated when the haunted player looks at her. if the number is greater than 35 she will begin chasing. So you have a small chance of not triggering the chase 😊
Bread, if you're gonna do a tutorial for Hygrodere I want to tell you that they are also attracted to the music that Jester makes when he winds up. It caught me off-guard when I was just starting the game.
@@brandon199898 It surprised me because boombox has it stated in the info that it calms slimes down. But the Jester? I wouldn't even think that is possible without seeing it myself.
Be careful when you're haunted and go up on a staircase on Titan, I think she can spawn on top of you and catch you off guard. I was helping moving the loot, got chased a couple of times, but managed to survive, then I heard her again. I was going up the stairs, so thought "Whatever, good luck catching me like this." Carelessly ran right into her. Turns out, she spawned above me somewhere and was coming down to get me, and it fucking worked. So much for looping her 4 times...
The tip about the terminal in the corner is huge, as soon as someone gets ghost girl we'll have them go to do coms and terminal so that no one else can get ghost girl and they're perfectly safe. It's actually a positive, since we usually have someone run coms/teleporter, and this makes it so no one else has to worry about ghost girl
first time i saw her, i was about to get off the ship on Titan, she was standing right there in front of the ship. I was like, nope. you guys go ahead, i am deadweight. I stayed on top of the ship but realize she could spawn far away behind giant rocks and still look at me, so i went inside the ship. I stayed in the ship with my back against the wall at the very end facing the doorway, i made sure to just stare outside for that session, i managed to live. Even when you know the mechanics, it's still creepy.
Really good to know that she won't spawn outside if you're not in the ship. Ive always gone in the ship and not turned around when I'm haunted. Havent died to her yet (been haunted about half a dozen times).
I've been chased by her without ever having looked at her. I do my best not to look around when I hear her breathing, and one of the times I was sure I hadn't looked at her but she still started skipping towards me the first time I saw her
She does chase if you move towards her even if youre not looking. My advice would be just leave the room because she wont chase if you're too far away.
it's probably because your paranoid lvl is high due to checking every corner for bracken (fast cam movement increase paranoia) or seeing your team dead or chased by other monster like thumper
I didn't felt good while I was watching ur video bc the ghost terrifies me, but it was necessary for my survival, so thanks for all the great tips haha!
NOTE: in solo play, insanity increases and decreases differently; time spent in the ship or facility increases insanity, while time outside decreases it (not sure if this even matters though)
If she decides to spawn, though, there isn't another player to attach to so I don't think your insanity matters. I don't believe insanity affects her spawn rate at all, just who she targets when she does spawn.
5:40 With that rule, shower is the most interesting one as it counts as solid surface, yet you can see through it. This makes the looking at ghost girl safe if you're doing it through shower glass
It looks like the ghost girl can start chasing you the first time you see her, if you've already avoided looking at her twice before. But you are still safe if you never look at her (and don't back up into her).
there are actually a lot of things inside the mansion and the facility you can jump on top of where the ghost girl will get stuck in front of you and disappear. The mansion has the small player sized book shelves. When you jump on them she can't get you. Additionally, the facility has the tall shelving racks and the large engines you can jump on top of where she can't get you.
Hey man, thanks for your guides. Really appreciate them. Do you use mods to train fighting the monster types? Been looking for something like a monster spawning mod
Nice video! One time I was haunted by her and I never looked behind me at her once, and later I went to fire exit. When I went inside, she spawned in front of me in her kill phase and murdered me. Any idea why this happened? I know I never saw her on my screen before.
Either it was a proximity thing and/or you maybe didn’t fully turn toward her but did a little and it counted. She shouldn’t spawn in front so maybe she spawned behind far away out of earshot then you turned? Not sure on that part.
When you enter through a fire exit, you spawn facing the door. This usually gives her an opportunity to spawn behind you before turn around to explore.
Also small thing to note (beware, it might be wrong), while your buddies can't see the girl, they can look towards her general position, and it might push her to go into her kill state.
You can make a video about how monsters spawn and how the apparatus affects them I've also heard that when you kill one it causes it to be replaced with another (I killed a bracken once and then another one appeared)
Rather impressed by how fair the game's hostile mobs become when you learn how they work. The ghost girl feels vaguely Raiders of the Lost Ark once you discover she does have countermeasures even if at most they neutralize her without destroying or subduing her. The fact that the target who escapes to the ship has to be back to the wall until the ship leaves is terrifying. Even neutralized that way, one false move is death. I'm impressed.
The first time I saw ghost girl was in my second time landing ever on this game. It was on experimentation and I saw her in the distance outside before going behind a structure.
Best way to avoid her once you've been haunted is to move the terminal so that it blocks your view of the doorway. This breaks line of sight and you'll have your back to a wall. There are worse things than being ship mom
Great video! I wanted to ask something that my friends insist is real but I have doubts about. When you grab the apparatus (or a painting), does that trigger her to spawn?
No lol. Grabbing apparatus does however have a 70% chance to spawn 2 enemies (if there aren’t already too many enemies) but it does not guarantee ghost girl nor have a higher likelyhood
Great video, thanks for your effort. But I have a question now, you said the target of the girl can't switch. Me and my Coworkers had exactly that a couple of times now. One was haunted by her and avoided her while being inside a group of player and suddenly someone else who was roaming alone got hunted by her without the death of the first worker. How can this be?
I went ahead and dug into the code to try and verify your findings and provide definitive evidence about them Haunt odds: There are a few factors to how ghost girl decides her target. All players start with a weight of 80 to be chosen for haunting. Then, the player with the high insanity, assuming their insanity is above 1, gets their weight to be chosen upped by 50. The player with the most turns gets 30 added to their weight, regardless of how many turns were performed. All players that haven't been critically injured get their weight upped by 10. If you are currently holding an item with a value over 150 scrap, you get 30 added to your weight. Insanity: If you are within 17 meters of another player, regardless of whether you can see them or not, or if you hear them through the walkie, you will lose insanity at -3 insanity per second. Otherwise, if you're inside the facility, you gain insanity at 0.8 insanity per second, and in the ship it's 0.2. If you are playing solo, you lose insanity at a rate of -2 per second while outside. Otherwise, you gain 0.3 insanity per second before sundown, and 0.5 after sundown while outside in multiplayer. The minimum possible insanity is 0, and the max is 50. Lastly, when playing solo, all values (including the solo-specific outdoor values) are divided by 1.6. Note that negative insanity rates do not get affected by this, only positive ones. Also, I have found no clear signs of the gramophone or TV affecting insanity. Same goes with the shower. The shower and gramophone don't even have any custom scripts that could possibly interact with the sanity system The light flickers: These flickers are associated with the girl vanishing, as well as starting a chase. I haven't seen any other mentions of light flickering during any other actions, but I may have missed something As for attacks, these are a bit complex as well: First, we have staring attacks. If she is visible and you see her, she will consider chasing. Firstly, if you've seen her 3 or more times, she has a chance to attack. The third time you look at her is 1/2, and every time after that is a "guarantee" (big asterisk, see end of paragraph). If you haven't looked at her though, she can still attack. If she has stared at you beyond two times more than you have seen her staring back, she will attempt to attack. *_ALL STARE ATTACK ATTEMPTS_*, including "guaranteed" attacks, have a 15% chance to fail, regardless of other conditions being met or not. Then, we have proximity attacks. If she is visible and you get within 7 meters and haven't seen her more than once yet, she has a 25% chance to vanish. If this 25% chance fails, and you continue to approach, she will make another check at 5 meters. If you have seen her two or more times, she has a 35% chance to attack. To summarize, there's nothing you can do to prevent her from targeting. You can only reduce your odds of being picked. If you get picked, your best strategy is to try not to look at her unnecessarily. The first two times she appears, you are perfectly safe to look at her, and I'd actually recommend looking at her once. After that, the third time she appears, should you look at her, you have an 85% chance to be killed if you haven't looked at her yet, a 0% chance if you've seen her once, and a 42.5% chance if you've seen her twice already. The fourth time she appears can only be reduced to 42.5% if you've already seen her twice. After that, all subsequent looks at her yield an 85% chance of dying If you absolutely need to try and go past her, and you haven't looked at her yet, you're safe to look right at her approach her to see if you can roll the 25% chance of her leaving, and if you're bold, you can tempt the 65% chance of her leaving you alone upon getting even closer One last tidbit that's more of a fun note rather than anything super useful, the amount of time she waits before appearing decreases by one second after she killed her first player. It doesn't decrease beyond that
My first time getting the girl, I wasn't holding any items, I literally just walked through the main entrance door of mansion for the first time (I must say it was a very high level game in eclipse moon and I'm not even used to such endgame gameplay, it was literally my second day playing 😂), looked to my left, and there she was. She started chasing me after 5 or so seconds looking at her, likely because she spawned very close.
This is factored into who she decides to go after first but it is MAINLY based on whoever is alone the most. Think “paranoia” if you turn a lot you are paranoid, if you have a lot of loot you might be paranoid of losing it, etc.
@@call_me_bread thanks for the tips! I watched a guy play Titan solo and I kind of learned how to listen for when she's behind you and when it's safe to look around again
Sometimes the ghost girl is extremely annoying! I went to Titan alone yesterday and she literally spawned right behind me after 2 minutes so I have to leave without any loot to secure the other loot on my ship
There’s an exploit you can do to easily nullify her chasing you (you need shower and toilet) basically you just move the tower on top of the toilet. And when she’s chasing you she can’t get you (for extra safety measures you can put toilet in the shower and then get on the toilet
When I was playing with a friend, I had an encounter with the ghost girl and she tried to attack. but I couldn't see my friend even though he was standing right next to me, and when the attack ended, I could see him again. I don't know if this was a modded tweak or what but it was the scariest thing
Once I thought I was safe from the girl, I closed the door, then the door opened and i closed it again, It was a relief that she wasn't outside, I turned around to chat with a friend, and there was the girl, running at me, I screamed like a little girl, even I have to admit that it was hilarious 😂😂😅
If you watch her from the ship cameras, does it count as looking to hee? Once l was looking through cameras and saw her skipping towards me but thankfully, she was blocked by the railings
Just had my first experience with her today playing with some buddies I made online I ignored a lot of the signs which probably helped lol Because I heard breathing and I thought it was one of them, (heard it twice) I saw flickering lights, but ignored them, once I realized everyone died by the turrets she spawned right in front of me, tp’d everyone’s bodies and got them and left. Scared me sh*tless
Hey, I already looked into her before and as you said she works with some kind of "sight counter", but is there anything that can reset that sight counter or is it fixed until you die / leave the planet? Could be nice to have a way to make sure you don't accidentaly sight her and trigger your own death Thanks !
@@PS2Damon I’m not too sure, this is a thing I’ve been told by my friends but I haven’t looked into or experienced it myself. But they said it’s from constantly scanning the area
