Your original half tight ranking video is exactly how I found your channel haha. Months ago I decided to get some of the Janji's! I only use them in marathons for the storage space. I'm pretty sure I have the updated version with the thinner material. They do still feel a little warm, but the extra storage space is definitely worth it for me and I've loved them! I'll keep an eye for some sales on some of the new ones you've tested though👀
Awesome to hear that! Glad you’ve enjoyed the Janjis as well. I’m sure I’ll try even more in the near and far future, so maybe this will be an annual episodic series 😂
I’d also recommend the Tracksmith Allston half tights. They have 3 pockets (2 drop ins and 1 zip) but more importantly they have a level of compression that feels really good on race day. I went linerless and found them both comfortable and modest up front.
@@HobbyJoggerElite I managed to get them during their Silver Medal Sale for only $70, so well worth that price. I can fit 2 gels in each drop in, and the zip pocket could fit 3 more if I don’t bring a phone. Definitely not the most storage, but for a sufficiently fast runner or maybe for half marathon’s they are perfect. I think the rabbit speedsters are probably the best overall value though. $70 retail, and rabbit has so many sales you can pretty much always get them for $56 before t&s.
Thank you so much for the Bandit Super Beam Half Tights. They are so awesome with the amount of pockets that are available. Two gels and a cliff bar on each side and my phone at the back pocket for my extra long weekend trail runs. I don't have to wear my running belt anymore to carry my phone. The material is soft and good airflow during running. They are the best half tights ever. I am looking to score myself extra pair of half tights so i can have them in my rotations. I will be using them for my 100km ultra marathon.
I used to wear the Nike Aeroswift, but now I only wear the Bandit Half Tights for marathons. While there is always something missing in the other brands, Bandit’s pocket layout is the best and can hold everything I need in a race (6 gels, salt pills, mobile phone and a piece of napkin). The only complaint I have is that the gel sized pockets are not deep enough. Most gels will stick out and end up scratching my waist. Other than that, it’s almost perfect!
This was a very helpful guide. To those reading this comment, the Rabbit Speedsters are fantastic! I can’t stand clothing with a high/long “rise” and these are comfortable and have a low rise. IYKYK. Thanks!
Great video. I got 3 pairs of superbeams just because of this video. I'd also like to throw in UA Rush Qualifier half tight as a trainer at 5.9oz with one side drop in and large no bounce back pocket at a more affordable price around $50s when on sale. Upcoming Rabbit will have a race tight called Speedster X which supposedly is lighter. Keep up the good work, really enjoyed it.
I never heard of bandit before, however I am impressed with the pockets and seeing materials like TS uses and love their half tights and tops. I have the same Janji shorts as you, their good, lots of pockets, however I am a fan of a built in liner, the TS liners are just amazing in comfort. I wish the Bandit came with a liner, I'd order one right now if they did. Any suggestions on running briefs though, never seen anyone discuss that and I have dry skin issues so materials used is a big deal with me. Thanks!
Tracksmith liners are great! They’re one of the only brands I can tolerate when it comes to liners. Regarding briefs, I usually just buy the cheapest athletic pairs that Walmart carries. Usually Hanes or some other generic brand, polyester or spandex or elastane blend. Nothing too special!
Nice. Question how would you compare the material fit and feel of the bandit to the TS Reggie? I have the Reggie and love them, I like the fit and feel a lot more than Janji. I’d love them more if they had pockets like Janji or bandit and an added draw string.
I would say the general fit is pretty similar, but I favor the Reggie when it comes to overall comfort. I think I like the materials a bit more in the Reggie too, but the lack of substantial storage and no drawstring makes them tough for a full marathon if you plan on taking gels or hydration with you. The Bandits are still very comfortable though and I’ve never had a single issue with them.
With overall comfort, I’d still lean toward the lululemon pair, but yeah, the Bandit’s storage is far and away better with the extra side pockets and the massive zipper pocket on the back.
Are you wearing a medium in all of these? I wear small and have Rabbit, Tracksmith, and Bandit Stamia. Found Superbeam in stock in small...and they are insanely tight on waist and thighs. Curious of your thoughts on the fit.
Just scooped up a pair of black bandit superbeams after your recommendation. I’ve been trying to get them too but couldn’t because I’m a medium. Soars 5” run short is one of my favorites. The tights are just ridiculous though. Soar and Satisfy are both hard to justify the price
Might just be me.. but I love the comfort on the Aeroswift ADV liner 😂 Managed to pick up some New Balance Pacer Half Tights in the UK for £20 and as everyday training tights they are perfect, literally can't go wrong for that price, great fit, just limited with storage space.. good enough that I bought 3 pairs to go alongside my Aeroswifts though
You just cost me $100! :) Watched this video, set an alert for Bandit half tights and the blue came in stock literally an hour later. Bought them. I'll be using them for Richmond Marathon in November. Thanks (kind of)!
Great video thanks! Which tights would you recommend that are comfortable to wear without underwear? I was also wondering if you wore shorts over tights or a longer Tshirt to cover up?
The only pair mentioned here that I’ve felt comfortable wearing without briefs are the Lululemon pair. And they tend to be fine without having to cover up with shorts or a long shirt 👍
Some people might be slightly more comfortable with briefs under, but I find the Superbeams tight enough and supportive enough. I just wore them on a 21 mile long run workout with no briefs and they performed admirably. And I mostly use cheap athletic briefs, often from Walmart. As long as they’re a synthetic fabric, I’ve never had issues.
I’ve used them, but haven’t noticed any real impact while running. If my calves are sore after a run, I’ll thrown them on for recovery and I find that they can alleviate feelings of soreness. On the run, I don’t notice much beyond some supplementary warmth.
@@HobbyJoggerElite I really appreciate the response. I find my calves to be sort of always a bit sore. I know I should run less frequently, but . . . running is my joy -- so it's easier said than done. If you don't mind me asking, what brand do you own? I will see if it helps post run.
@@glc4317 those and the reggie tights seem to be in the same realm. Lululemon is also lightweight. By far, though, the SOAR speed shorts outdo them all.
Since a bunch of these you took out the liner or have a seam down the middle, what under briefs do you recommend? I’ve been using sprint distance tri shorts and wonder if half tights is better option? Thanks.
I’ve only really used some cheap brief options from Walmart. I believe the brand is Athletic Works. Hanes also makes some decent athletic briefs. Nothing too special!
Wonder how the Allston or Turnover half tights from Tracksmith would compare to the top trio here. Have you tried them? Looking to add to my Reggie, would love some more storage.
Hi brother can u tell me how u removed the inner underwear in the nike aero swift tights?..did u just cut it with scissors? Am planning to buy them but am someone who sweats a lot and wearing underwear during running has caused me hell lot of chaffing in my inner thighs.. so am thinking that aeroswift might also cause me chafing since it has an underwear inside.. please reply to me bro.. i was thinking to cut the inner wear once they come
@@HobbyJoggerEliteand you have any tips on how to wash these tights.. i used to wash a different tights of mine with soap water after the run and now i just wash them with normal water. I have the nike pro tights currently. Is there any tips to wash them and not let the tights become hard overtime due to washing? Because i sweat a lot after a run and if i dont wash them after running the sweat water can damage them. So any tips on washing the tights bro.
Most of these are kind of expensive to get shipped to EU. Anyone have experience with the "Patagonia Men's Endless Run Shorts - 6"? (In terms of storage for 5-ish gels and phone, as well as comfortability). Also, great review!
I personally haven’t run in them, but I know a few runners who have. They’ve told me it’s a slightly odd fit considering the tightness of the half tight component, but the baggyness of the front “short” material which seems to function as a wind-breaking component. But I’ve also heard the storage is impeccable and that they’re super comfortable!
I was finally able to buy my Superbeams in a size small in a black after like 2 months of waiting and their emails ending up in my "promotions" category. Insane half tight and so worth the money!
Another runner I follow uses them and loves them. They have the same issue as the Superbeams - they're never in stock in Medium. Whenever they get black 8" in M, I'm gonna buy a pair. Lifetime warranty, too.
i ordered the wolaco distance half tights and it's on the way. so pricey and i hope it's worth it. i'm searching for one that i almost wouldn't notice during long runs. nike aeroswift takes so long to dry, almost as long as cotton. plus the pocket is only for smaller phones. rabbit speedsters i was interested until i see that shipping fee is $65 😅 janji trail half tights has nice pockets that could fit bigger phones, thought not waterproof so need to put in ziplock. comfortable but i almost had chaffing when i wore it for a 34km run, another 2km and would have chaffed. the one that fits me the best is the cheapest nike half tight called nike pro but it has no pocket and intended more to be worn under shorts. i checked bandit but not modest enough for me based on pictures 😂
@@gudboyngdisyertoI was worried about the Bandit, but took the chance. The layer of softer material in the crotch area actually makes them pretty modest. They were AMAZING on my 20 miler last week. I got a pair of the Wolaco, too, but I think the Superbeams are the choice for the marathon.
I have a 2 pair of the Nike aeorswift and really like them, no complaints. I have tried the janjis but they are too revealing. Do you have this problem with any of these other half tights?
Bro do u have chaffing with the nike aeroswift?i sweat a lot and aeroswift has underwear inside.. i think it will cause me chaffing.. do u have the inner wear inside or did u cut it?
