You also mentioned a SatNav screen, but Satnav isn't available on the UK Circuit Pack models (which is what I have). TBH, I don't care, I'd rather do SatNav via Waze or TomTom on my phone via CarPlay
Great review, you really encapsulated what the GR is all about. Had mine for just over a month and I absolutely love it! Best car I’ve ever had and I think I may need plastic surgery to wipe the smile off my face!!! Something else with them is how capable they are in the wet too, the hype is so real! Trackday soon and Nurburgring next year.
@@JoeTalksCars It is a bit, you can tell they did what they could within a certain budget, but the main money was spent where it counts and when you drive it the interior for me just gets forgotten anyway.
@@JoeTalksCars Without boring you, the Toyota dealer where I bought my car in Swansea has a millionaire local who owns lots of fast cars who bought a GR. He returned to the dealer to show his dash cam footage of him chasing a GT3RS down an A road. He said he loves it more than the more expensive cars in his collection.
I often visit the Nürburgring and i have seen the GR Yaris a lot overthere. I have some experience as a passenger in different Porsches(GT3 GT4) on the Nürburgring and that cars are great. I would like to own one but i will never can pay that. And it is not only buying, the runningcosts are high too. A nice used GR Yaris would be possible, but i didn't experience one yet. People who say "i would never trade in my Porsche for a GR Yaris" are lucky they can afford a Porsche. But the most expensive cars are not always the cars with the highest fun factor. On a circuit you can use the most of the power of a Porsche, but on a (wet) B road, i think something as the GR Yaris is given you more Fun as in a Porsche or other Supercar, which you even can't use half of the power. I also like the looks of the Porsche more as a GR Yaris and the Interior of the GR Yaris(i sat in one at the dealership) is boring and a lot of plastic. The seats are nice. But i can imagine that i forget the looks as soon as i drive one. The price difference is big also and that is also important if you are not in the position to afford a Porsche. @GRfourfun: Enjoy your Yaris and maybe i see you next year at the Ring.😉
@@nickvlaanderen Thank you for the reply and I totally agree with what you’re saying. I do like the fact I can deploy all the power all of the time and I’m actually looking forward to a wet track day. I’m in no position to buy a Porsche but I do love them and maybe if a lottery win comes my way I can have a GT3RS😉 I hope our paths cross at the Ring (GR04 BDR) is my registration.
Great amount of miles! Good effort. They are amazing, just punch way above their weight for the price. Everyone kicked off about the price when it was launched but I think its a bargain for what it offers.
Even though this video is miles late to the party, I decided to give it a chance. Started video, man in the video got the name of the car wrong in the first ten seconds, paused video, made this comment, closed RU-vid.
Rear view mirror can be raised if you're brave enough to attack it's metal mounting pole with a Dremel. There's a good description of how it's done on the GR Yaris forum. I did it to mine - way better visibility.
@@yaboiyosef7640 Since 2022, R1 cars are not based on stock car, they have special chassis for safety and hybrid. That's why GR Yaris never went rallying on a top (WRC) level and that's why you see Puma in WRC.
I've owned mine now for just over a year and my mate, who owns not one but two 992 GT3's and has a GT3RS on order, could not understand why I bought one. He just ordered his own Yaris yesterday. These things are absolutely brilliant cars
@@furzbirre You mean YOU can't. That's because where you live, despot, precludes your ability. Where I live orders were open for deposits now for a new batch of 160. If you want to accuse me of lying idiot, better do it to my face. Not on a keyboard.
Great video. I do agree that the car looks "absolutely ridiculous" as you say, but not in a good way - it reminds me of the thrown-together appearance of the CTR, with lots of bumps and protrusions everywhere and very little making the exterior feel like a unified whole. The front is square and boxy, and the rear is awkwardly bulbous. Looks aside, you can't complain with the drive that this car offers. I'd love to see a GR Yaris with a modified body kit that makes it looks a bit less like a botched plastic surgery procedure.
I have had a few people say that to me as well, just shows how we are all different, I love the slightly unhinged looks. Makes it look less Yaris and thats a good thing. @autofinesse have put s body kit on theirs and it probably looks more like you describe but to be honest looks even more plastic surgery,
@@JoeTalksCars they have to make 25k of the gr to enter & I don't know of another gr yaris & it's winning not that it's anything like the road going one but show that Toyota can still make a good car
I had an EP3 immediately before GR. I concur it's a truly superb car. The best gear box I've ever used, the best balanced chassis ever too. And the engine... Just wow! But, the reason the GR is over all better is a) you don't always have the luxury of a road that'll allow staying I'm high rev zone, and b) the two wheel drive cannot compete with a GR during most winter (and some summer) months.
@@adambaker629 lol, you should drive a Renaultsport Megane, the ep3 is so far behind in every area and really although a decent car is miles away from all of the great ones.
