This woman has amazing spacial awareness, poise, balance, and flexibility. I wonder how many years of practice it has taken her to develop that kind of skill. Amazing!
Her name is Irina Akimova and is an amazing hula hoop performer from Russia who has performed all over the world, including at 'Cirque Du Soleil'. Irina was born and raised in very small town near Saratov, Russia. At the age of 10, she attended the local school of art where she learned the art of hula-hoop and immediately was captured by the "fun, philosophy and challenge of it". After appearing and winning the world famous Circus festival “Silver Rain”, producers from around the world noticed her. After travelling the world performing on many prestigious stages in Japan, Russia, U.S.A, Germany, Mexico, Canada and Monaco, she is now performing at the Cirque Du Soleil show “Delirium”.
Please do not endorse new potential weapons. This world has enough evil in it. Anyone that would make something like hoola hoop swords should be in prison
i am also a hooper this girl juggles two hoops she can get the hoo from the floor to above her head without touching it AT all just by wiggling like a fish hoops two hoops on ONE hand and she can do the hellicoter over her head with two hands can you do any of that?????? this girl is amazing with a hula hoop and you know it this is actually the video that started my hooping. it is inspiring your just mad because she makes you feel lousey at hooping dont feel jealous learn from her!!
Look, I'm not a hooper yet, but I know that this woman has INSANE control over the hoops! You ever tried hooping in the 5th grade and the hoop just falls down? Remember how hard that was? And then you see her doing this effortlessly?! I'm fascinated and just silently watching in awe.
This women has outstanding precision and technique. It is obvious that she has put her life's work into just this one act, and that has allowed her to live with abundance doing what she is passionate about. She couldn't perform like this if she wasn't passionate. I admire her completely. So I agree isopuppy you tell em! ;-)
Absolutely incredible!! Best of the best!!Elena Lev and Masha Silaeva are incredible too. What you do is artistic magic.Giga talent that you had genetically and perfected through practice.I don't know anyone who wouldn't appreciate this.Loved it!! Cheers from British Columbia Canada!!!!
@@itsgreat1475 I completely forgot I made this comment lol. My skills are much better, I can do a lot of the tricks in this video, It’s like meditation for me.☺️
You certainly have a valid point there. Things that ring out a slow, earthy melody are very warm and beautiful. That being said, this fast, showy sort of hoop style is also interesting. It's interesting and intriguing to watch. Perhaps it is not obvious that the warmth and love for energy is there, but to be at the skill level that she is at, it has to be there. I'm aspiring to be both a professional hoop dancer, as well as, a contortionist. With months of practice, I'm only at 1/4 her skill.
The song is "Cold Flame." It comes from the Cirque du Soleil soundtrack Delirium. The song isn't instrumental- in the clip the music is a demo. It's a good beat- and yes, Ms. Akimova is part of the troupe.
Why can't there be more than one style and people have a preference? It's like music, what makes some people cry with joy will not do the same for others. There is validity in preference, not hate. I love this video, but agree there are other types of Hooping out there that capture another aspect of this sport and are divine. Enjoy what makes you smile and fills your heart with joy. We all don't have to agree on a prefered style. Just that it's all pretty amazing.
I totally agree. A lot of those tricks were amazing, but there was no art to it. I much prefer the slower, flowing kind of hoop dance. It isn't all about tricks. It's really pretty and hypnotic.
I must agree .... while this girl is on a completely different level as far as the incredible things she can do, Katie just has that "amazingly hot girl next door look"
