Killsteal on that F-5 was justified in my opinion. You had been dogfighting him for an extended period of time and someone swooped in and pressed a button on him. There's a big difference in commitment there. I'm not ashamed to admit that I do the same thing when someone I'm actually having fun with (and he likely is too) is unceremoniously murked by a third party.
Yes specifically because he bled all his speed in the fight and would've been easy pickings for another enemy, it would've been really annoying to put in the work and not get the kill
The SMT is a plane that I play alot and I can agree that the constant full uptier is pain. But when it stays in the 10.3 and lower its very hard to do bad or die if you don't get jumped by someone.
erm sorry but no, I exlcusively played the MF at 10.3 which is inferior to the SMT for the crafting event and even in up tiers if you know how top tier plays, its fairly easy to play this in an 11.3 match. Are you always at a disadvantage? yes. but not enough to imo to say its a pain, its far easier to play the MF/SMT at 11.3 than it is to play any other 10.3 currently in 11.3 matches, what made the MF a pain for me was the glorified Mig23MF spam pulling me up into stock lobbies full of them (after that subsided it was fairly easy going)
if you think the SMT and MF are op with the br combression, try the F8E, at the start of the game gain some speed and climb, its super easy to take out harriers and A5Cs that climb to orbit with 9Cs, then just fire your 9D from high altitude at people on the deck, and for any R60s you have 60 countermrasures. The F8E can out 2 circle mig 21s but you have to go 1 circle for mig 19s.
The f8's are awesome, but I think that the SMT and MF are stronger planes. R60s beat the shit out of 9d's (especially against half your enemies not having flares) and it's an actual supersonic instead of hovering around transonic unless super high alt. The f8's have the advantage in a sustained dogfight, but overall I think that the MF/SMT are a bit stronger planes.
@@ovrwrldkiler the higher top speed on mig 21s make a huge difference, and the R60s are considerably better then 9Ds, but the F8E also carries the all aspect aim9C, which i prefer because when wallet warriors climb to orbit, their long burn time and 18g overload give them around 6km of range in headons, plently to take harriers and A5Cs off gaurd.
Could you do a video on the Su-22UM3K? Its 11.0 and can carry 6 R-60s (not R-60MKs) and can be used as a pure fighter and unlike the Su-22M3 in the Russian tree is can carry a large amount of flares but it loses a 30mm. Would love to see you cover it in a video.
I'm a big fan of the Mirage IIIE right now. It recently got a buff going from 7260kg to 7025kg weight and you can really feel the the improvement across the board with the weight reduction. Magics ofc slap, and the Chad 530 is amazing in a down tier, by far the best Radar missile until 11.0, it goes Mach 1.12 on the deck after you give it some time to accelerate, RWR, Countermeasures, and amazing one-circle. The rather poor acceleration holds it back slightly but you shouldn't be turning in the first place unless its down to a 1v1, in which case you'll have plenty of time to accelerate back up to combat speeds.
When I play top tier, everyone spams flares like they're infinite, my flares do jack sht, and I'm lucky to get one kill if I do everything right. When Spit plays top tier, it seems like anyone he looks at dies and none of them pop flares.
Its Because he knows when to shot and most of the times he pick a good match, r-60 turns alot and at close range are really good, planes like the f4c f104a f104c ja35a have no Flares most a-5 dont know wtf they're doing and you need to kill targets that are distracted never shot a missile in a target than know you're trying to kill them and that can Dodge that missiles for example: an f-5E thats is flying fast and can see you will Dodge the missile very easy and can flare it, an slow mig-19 or an f-4c cant Dodge the missile Because they're too slow and they dont have Flares
Don't spam flares, it leads a trail to your jet. Turn off the afterburner. Turn. if it's a radar guided try to notch/get under the jet to induce ground clutter and lose lock. If these don't work Idk what it is
If your flares arent working you are using them wrong. Pop 2-3 flares in quick succesion, cut afterburner, turn hard then wait 1-2 sec then turn afterburner back on
As for the F-104 situation, the A model got a buff to its engine performance, which gives it that extra edge on top of already ridiculous acceleration. I’ve had a couple of ace games in it (which doesn’t mean it’s good!) but it lends itself to a more reserved, intelligent playstyle you might like.
This plane is an absolute beast. Since the Su-25 and the A-10 spam, you basically play 9.7 all game, where you get 4 free kills with misiles, and you're still left with a beast of a plane.
Cl-13a Mk5 wants to know your location *caugh* has only .50s Furthermore Mig 19S is a pure gunfighter/interceptor at 9.7 (Although it can get supersonic)
That last game where the F3H appeared really proves your point about the need for decompression. That plane was pre F-8 for God’s sake. What is it doing in the same airspace as a MiG-21SMT? Aphids, flares and Mach 2 with a nearly low orbit capable climb rate vs. AIM-9Bs on a subsonic tub?
Hey spit flyer! I really want to get into the American air tree. I got some experience in jets and I want to skip the grind by buying either the AV-8A or the F-5C. The community is pretty split about which is better and i don't know which to go for. You clearly have a ton of experience in jets so I'd like to know which would you go for if you were in my situation and why? Thank you for your time and keep up the good content!
I personally got the harrier the day it came out to grind America (Japan and Germany main). For its br the missles it has gets the job juuust fine. No regrets and i can vtol take off 😎 Edit: forgot f5e can grind the whole tree and the harrier can except for a few. Might want the one and done plane for grinding
@@smellysardin3793 o wow so completely forgot my trees and both can grind the whole thing oops. Its pretty much a 9.7 or a 10.3 so personally id go with the harrier it has missles with better pull and its acceleration is really nice.

Hey Spit, before you make your video on the preposed BR changes, and make remarks on the he162. (6.3 -> 6.0) Regardless of if you are for, or against it. (I dont know yet, well... no video out yet, duh) But a point you have to consider is, how does it effect 6.0 as a whole. Yes, for a 6.0 its VERY powerful. BUT, if you consider Germany @ 6.0 is predominantly 6v6 games (2 fighters at best vs 6) The He162 is perfect for this, and can, 1v3. Not only this, please note, what does this mean for 5.7-6.0 German fighters? I personally think, this will be very welcoming to K4, Ta152, G10, G-14 players. As they (the German props) will have a wingman, who has a bit of an edge (in terms of plane performance) and will see the 2v4~6 as more possible. I've personally played the he162, quite alot (no i dont hate myself, its just my favorite jet since childhood), and I have to say.. The F2G-1 are can easily counter the He162. They're primarily my biggest threat while flying it. (Alot of .50s go brrrt, and a fragile plane, that loses all outrunning capabilities if damaged) So, as there is a rival for the he162, i don't think it will be uncontested.
Off topic but I’d love Gaijin to bring out an old school War Thunder, like how RuneScape has old school RuneScape, and have it set before update “Super Sonics” with og hanger music and the sabres and mig 15-17 at top tier but still maintain some of the new vehicles that should’ve been added during this era such as F-84F and maybe the swifts as well as some others that would fit the meta
Honestly, as an mig21mf and bis SAU user I have to say that the 21mf is way too overpowered at it's br or in a downtier. However, I don't know if it's just EU servers or my garbage luck but 8/10 games I play in the 21MF, I get into an 11.3 match in which it is pretty bad. It's gotten to the point that I no longer want to play the MF and just go play the bis. So the morale of the story is that the 21MF should be in a 10.3-11.0 matchmaker. And considering the technological advantage between the 10.0 planes and 10.3-11.0 planes it honestly wouldn't be a bad idea. Of course knowing gaijin wouldn't ever do that but I wanted to put the idea out there.
Ive used to get so many downtiers or just its own tier games, after the update its constant uptier so i get what you talk about. Its not fun to even play it anymore but its still a really good plane
Ngl, pretty done with war thunder's shit regarding no chat and decals and such because of the conflict. Haven't been playing for a good month now and don't think I will cone back unless they turn chat back on.
yeah its fucking annoying since it seems like US 9.7-10.7 matches were reliant on having chat (that or may sales fucked all of it up not sure which). Anyways, it literally has ruined the game for RB, Sim, and Custom Matches as now there is no chat and its all a glorified shithole
the f5 was your kill you got him slow dogfighting so it's was justified. I do the same even in props if I stall or energy trap someone and a teammate Flys in after not climbing or doing anything to help the team and he sets Mt stalled plane on fire I will steal it because it was my kill to begin with. I will tell him this in chat as well.
The F-104 is much more fun than you think . I have 500+- battles in the F-104A . It isn't the best performing but if you like to play relaxed it is great .
