I considered this, but when I found the Sunrider for Hardtop by Bestop, it was the clear choice for me. Sure, I can't see out when the top is closed, but I'm also only 2 clips away from open air whenever I'd like. And that, for me, is pretty rad. Especially to be able to open & close it, with barely moving from the drivers seat (helps for days that you didn't anticipate the rain haha) Thanks for all the informative videos, bruh. Of all the other clear polycarbonate options on the market, this looks to be the most promising. Others require you to line up a template, hack your hardtop & sealant. This is pretty much plug n play.
I had this on my 2016 JKU, but switched to JeeTops, because I was getting wind noise from the Front Corners. I tried multiple things to alleviate this Issue, but was not able to eliminate this Wind Noise. I ended up selling my ClearLidz and going with the JeeTops. I actually like the Panoramic Jeep Freedom Panel Kit.
for everyone complaining about the price... have you went to Quadratec lately and looked at how expensive shit is for Jeeps? $1000 for this top is not out of the norm for Jeep stuff.
What you pay is what you get. $1000 for a top that changes your driving experience. Making the time behind the wheel more enjoyable. I would pay a grand for that. SOLD! 😃
I understand research & development, materials, promotion, profit, etc. etc... BUT, I don’t understand $1000++ for a piece of vacuum/pressed piece of plastic! Wow
I agree that $1,000 isn’t for everyone and if it was me I would try to find a way to reduce the cost but the factory freedom panels cost $1k. It’s not like this option is drastically more expensive. Thanks for watching 👋🏼 jeepwave
They are putting the Clearlidz on my new 2023 Rubicon Wrangler JL Jeep 4 door now. I will be using it all year long. Live in Texas were very hot in summer or very cold in the winter. Plus, we get rain every now and than. I think I am going to enjoy it. I hoping it doesn’t leak or a lot of wind noise. It was a great video on how well it was made. I believe it a up grade to the Jeep. It add valve to the Jeep. So I hoping and praying it is a good investment to the jeep. Maybe in a month I will message again and give a report on the ClearLiz product.
I would totally get this product. One of my favorite ways to drive my Jeep is with the doors off but the top on (not a fan of the sun beating down on me and the black interior, burning my arm on the center console). I feel adding this product would greatly amplify my driving experience, like you said, being able to enjoy the elements.

You know what cost less, works better, and won’t cook you like a potato. The best top sunrider for hardtop. Covers you when ya need it and with these then 10 seconds ya flip the 2 latches and your topless. I do it all the time at redlights
I was wondering the entire time: Is there an improvement in road/wind noise or noticeably more noise? It would have been interesting to get thermal readings on the tops of the head rests. Nice work on the video!
Yes it's expensive...as most mods on Jeeps are, why are you all complaining about this, he stated this flat out in the video. If I had it to spare I would buy one and show it off everywhere as I think it's pretty darn amazing. Maybe one day - thanks for posting !
Definitely pretty badass and would definitely have it on my '14 but at that price, it will have to be further down the list. How is the wind noise compared to the stock panels?
I've seen ones like these before and its a cool idea, but the more I look into them, the more they look like they would turn the Jeep into a solar oven. The cost is way to high for something that you will take off during a hot day and replaced with freedom panels in winter.
@@JWard2 , I’ve had it on my Jeep for three months, no leaks or scratches. The issue you may have is you can hear the wind if it’s a windy day. I just turn my music up and enjoy the ride.
I love mine!! Have had it for over a year! Watched your video to put it back on today :) I did have a lot of wind noise last year and hoping by installing the way you did I won't

Not a fan. Especially after dropping 1300 so two of the front latches didn’t secure down. Clearlidz did offer to replace, but i said no. I Just returned.
That is very cool but their pricing point is insane. When you can pick up high quality steel bumpers with shipping for the price of this plastic product, well good luck clear lidz.....
Man. I love this. I watched the entire video. You do a great job... I was anticipating 300-600 bucks. Went online and it's actually 1400. Man i want one... Hard to justify at this point. I know it's not just a "piece of plastic" but. The that's the initial perceived value. I subscribed today. Got a wrangler a few months ago. Wondering about 37 in tires? Gearing change? Dex you know how to make a grow man cry trying to break the lid dam that was depressing you could have sent it to me and i would install it and try to break it on my jeep...lol..love the trike cant believe it didn’t break.Very cool but at that price id rather buy nice wheels thats a little pricey but i can see why with all you did trying to break them.Great review and you make people laugh love your videos.
The top is tinted so the light isn’t too bad although it’s a lot brighter then normal. It doesn’t scratch easy but they will show up. Hope that answers your questions 👌🏼

I would consider this for under 500 bucks but 1200 for the same UV plastic they sell at home depot for 29.99 for a 3 by 12-foot piece. I am curious who pays 1200 dollars for this.
How did it last so far? No leaks at ALL? Plus you didnt mention the noise how was it ? Same to oem pannels or do u hear more noise? Plus while wheeling the jeep do u seem to hear any plastic movement noise? Thanks for the vid appreciate your efforts !!
Still very happy with it. It’s basically a factory top that is clear. No leaks, no noise. The only issue I had was the middle latch but that was because of my switch pod and not the top itself. Hope that helps. JeepWave
