It's important to note that Boa's insane super risky 50/50s is essentially what won him the match against Arslan during Evo Japan when Arslan was on an absolute tear against the top Korean and Japanese players according to CBM (the match was never recorded). Arslan who we all know is a god, suffered only one real defeat in that Evo (being sent to losers), and it was to Boa. To say Boa is not an elite player because he's risky undermines what he accomplished where others have failed.
Ha it’s funny I’m now near this level of play but…I’ve been called trash and stuff because people don’t like how risky iam I play law dragonuv and hwo I love playing like a mad man
I’d love to see choksae vs the Pakistanis. I reckon he’s one of Korea’s hidden weapons in the tekken community, like eyemusician is. Pakistani players aren’t as specialised in the mishimas as Koreans are and choksae is arguably at the top of the Mishima food chain in Korea
The thing about boa is that he doesn’t play it like it’s a tournament He plays aggressive like how he would play normally rather then poking and backdashing
I always believed that's how Kazuya is played. Tournament or not. This is also one reason why JDCR said in one of his stream why he plays the old man rather than Kazuya, cause whenever he plays it forces you to be aggressive.
Please do more of these videos I absolutely love them coming back home from work and Vibin to some good Tekken with mainman commentary. Can’t get any better
u expecting a guy who uploads once every 2 months to upload more content and care about his audience? thought he made it pretty clear by now that he doesnt care. lol
3:40 boa was shaking after that match. he was on the edge of his seat fighting these guys. he dominates them, but he didn't underestimate them one bit.
Lee's okay. Father chokes on tournaments, kinda like CBM. That's why they go to tournaments as often as they can, to try and face that fear of stage pressure, away from the comfort of their homes.
I'm surprised they never hire you to do commentary. Some commentators will have this pro wrestling ringside scream. But you got this great energy channeling with such a casual enthusiasm that keeps people hooked. And your trivial side info on everything is so grasping.
@themainmanswe if Choksae would come back and main Kazuya and put in the work do you think he would dethrone Boa as best Kazuya in the world? I watched his match with Boa and his style seemed so different and next level.
TMM I really appreciate how you point out the small movements that really create and set up for the big damage. That most players dont notice or take for granted. For Example the first battle. Need I Say More.
@@themosthighvaluemaninthega9048 Only he truly knows in the end. FF4 hits grounded so that might have been a better choice if he was too low but you wanted to get a hit in + oki.
@@UltimateBallaPOM Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm saying. You can't really say TMM didn't pick up that it was a mis-input when we don't know whether it was or not.
@@themosthighvaluemaninthega9048 Yes. He could have mentioned it as a possibility to show that he thought about it, but the way he said "hellsweep?" Looks like he didn't think too much on it and settled for it, when it could have been a number of other options. Understand what I'm saying? (My opinion was based on the videos of BoA, Kaz' optimal damage wall ender and common misinputs for certain moves)
Knee is super strong, god of tekken. But I just don't think Steve is for him. Steve's a strong character... but Knee doesn't even use half of the tools that Steve has. I mean, this is coming from me having watched the Heera Malik vs Knee on Steve. And that again, just highlights the difference between the Koreans and the Pakistanis, Koreans stick to safe, and strong moves. Meanwhile, Pakistani players utilizes every tool that their character has. Just so uncharacteristic of Knee to not see the mind-games. You can say that it was just pure 50-50's... but Boa won those games no contest, made Knee look like the scrupman himself.
The thing with Knee is, he plays most characters well simply because he has insane fundamentals. He can make almost any character work, because he usually knows what to do, and when to do it. The downside to the "Knee" style is that it makes all the characters look the same in terms of gameplay, because all he does is spacing, punishing, poking, staying safe and trying to read the opponent as much as possible, no matter what character he plays. Steve is a character that requires strong fundamentals to get the most out of him, and that's what Knee does. He plays a "fundamental" Steve, as opposed to Heera, who plays a character-specialist Steve. So basically, Knee's Steve is good because of Knee's fundamentals, and Heera's Steve is good because Heera is a Steve specialist. That's 2 different approaches to the character right there. Obviously that's a simplified explanation, because Heera has insane fundamentals as well, but I was just trying to explain the core difference. That's the reason why Knee's gameplay might seem "boring" sometimes, because he plays all the characters the same way most of the time. But then again, it works out for him more often than not, simply because he is amazing at what he does lol. So basically, it's just "boring" in theory, but Knee is so good at executing this playstyle, that it is super entertaining to watch anyways.
@@disruptor6550 I'm not saying his gameplay is boring, I'm actually saying his gameplay is weak with Steve. The thing is, you are correct that Knee has strong fundamentals, but it can only carry you so far, especially with a character like Steve. Steve not only requires strong fundamentals, but he also requires a lot of character knowledge. A lot of Steve's good moves are hidden behind stances, and I don't even remember Knee using any of the stances, unless it is to combo. Even if you have godlike fundamentals, you can only go so far with spamming moves. What will you do if the opponent knows you are going to do b1? And b1 is the only move you know? And you're doing this against a decent player? And I think that's what's happening with Knee. Knee used to be so dominant in Tekken, however, the skills of players have slowly been catching up to him, and he's getting beat up by people who are amazing with their characters. Sure in a "random" character match he would beat them since he has stronger fundamentals. But again, Tekken isn't just about fundamentals.
@@UltimateBallaPOM And you are talking about the last time in 2019? And nothing else after the invasion of the Pakistan players? 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Yes I am. Surely you can try harder than that.
I think you need to watch his Steve matches during s2 before saying that. The fact is simple, Kazuya recieved constant major buffs since s2 while Steve recieved a lot of hard nerfs, now Knee actually needs to practice with him before playing, he can't just tier whore steve anymore
Lol why you always hate knee??? Mainman?? All koreans know knee is the best in korea, no doubt Last week, knee won the ATL Even Yesterday, Knee won the ATL Why don't you upload match like this??? Also your favourite player JDCR, is noting in korea!!! He's just good player but not the best. Please watch recent korea match and think who is the best mainman. Don't instigate foreigners who don't know anything
Wtf is that chat tho? Chanel wins not because of Zafina, but because Chanel is a good player. He blocked a fuck ton of hellsweeps and mids, sidewalked / sidestepped a few... giving Boa 0 chance. Even if he played Lucky Chloe, he would've won that match.
@@estoylaroca It was also a counter matchup as well. Steve is supposed to shit on Kazuya. So yeah respect the player not the character. But the leroy debut era was disgusting
Who do you think was playing Eliza in the beginning? Eliza is way more of Channel's main than Zafina yet he got stomped. It was 100% the character switch.
yea chanel had to cheese with broken female characters. cant beat boa with anything that takes real skill. even though boa is using weakling kazuya. just tells you how bad chanel is if he needs to hide behind zafina like a scared little kid. virgin zafina abuser vs giga chad kazuya enjoyer.
@@DaggerPrince Who hurt you? Imagine creating an entire story around why he's using Zafina when Chanel is well-known for using female characters mainly😂. You need inner peace.
Why is everyone hating on Chanel playing Zafina? Chanel has been known to play characters like Alisa and Zafina because he excels with defense and movement. Even then, the player shouldn't be hated, but rather respected. Chanel lost and adapted to Boa’s gameplay and played well against his 50/50s reading him quite well.
Watching these top players having such good movement and spacing makes me feel like I’m playing tekken on slow mode. They can also see when they get a hit off and get a full combo off it
Kinda dont get being caught off gaurd that the best kazuya in the world played a heavy mix up game. A character that has mediocre neutral because of a lack of pokes, but some of the best 50/50 in the game. Being surprised that a the best kazuya uses a ton of hellsweeps is like being surprised that a grappler in street fighter uses command grabs lol
Because they needed to actually sell her, since she always was super ignored. Suddenly in t7 she has a decent pickrate, mostly within high level try hards.
you can see how differently Boa plays chanel, vs how he plays knee. boa treated chanel like a tekken god omega treats a genbu 😂😂😂. but when he played knee, he played him like another omega would play an omega.
Lol mainman can’t make up his mind on who’s the best kazuya anymore. Boa will play Choksae or CDP next week and he’ll forget this happened lol. P.S This is like the third time as of recent TMM chose a match knee lost to highlight like the JDCR match. I think this is why knee is so quick to get tilted 😂
Just mentioning Jang Iksu’s name I can tell you an old school player with class.. the young guys ain’t gonna know about the greatness of Jang iksu 😎 hats of to you bro
boa often does well in these sorts of games because of his risky playstyle, but tends to get crushed by FAR better kazuya's in a deathmatch, like choksae or even knee's kazuya (which i think is the actual best kazuya in the world)
Father is too in the online mindset. He's a great player and I seen him run sets with top people but yeah, I think that's his problem. He does a lot of risky shit that wont fly as much offline.
But did you not witness Boa doing risky shit as well with Kazuya? When everybody believes you'll play more reserved, calculated and methodical, playing more risky throws people off.
@@smoothsavage2870 the thing is that Kazuya is meant to be played like that so shines if the player makes it work. But Lee is a different character. In short, Boa was getting high rewards with high risk, while Father was taking too much risk for the reward he got
Knee is hella overrated. I know he uses a lot of characters and mastering so many characters isnt easy but calling him a God of tekken is too much. His wins speaks for itself. He was a god, he'd be unbeatable.
