Having a lead magnet to build an audience which helps with future book launches. If not, it’s like you’re starting promo from scratch each and every time.
I guess Quality is the most important part. Over delivering based on your ads will get you happy readers = good reviews = decent growth = and Green comes to your bank account!
Great Video!!!! Your ability to get straight to the point is a blessing. I paid for a course on this topic, that in the time you are done with your video, they still had 3 minutes to go on their opening monologue congratulating each other on how smart they are.
Excellent video Dane! Well done and a great 5 Step plan. As mentioned, the first 30 days are critical. Most aim for the short term with a profit mindset, but it’s investing both time and money (and usually at a loss) for the first 30 days that will provide the long term passive income that will far outstrip that initial investment. It’s so hard to do, but just so important.
This video just blew my mind. It's all the things i didnt know i didnt know! Absolute gold thank you. I literally am going to follow this step by step starting now! thanks legend
Thank you Dane. You really told me all I needed to know about launching a book and I don't think I would repeat the mistake I did on my first book on this one now. Thank you a lot.
What a great strategy. I have learned so much. I am not doing an ebook as mine is an Activity Book, but will follow the paperback instructions. Thanks Dane.

Hello! I'm new to your channel, thanks for this great video and information. I'm considering re-launching my books and also translating these books into the English language. I wonder what videos do you recommend to me from you, that includes these topics.. Thanks again
Always love our videos Dane, but would like more information. When you say 'organic sales' what do you mean? Also slots? And how on earth do you promote a book on Facebook? How do you get a following? I have to tell you my first book was published in June and I was/and am on the first page of most of my keywords. So, I must be doing something right. Mostly it was a book launch team that wrote reviews and my followers on Quora that bought my book. Now my second book will be out by November latest. See what that does.
Thanks Dane for this video! I am new to kdp and have around 20 books, 1 month old (LC and NC - notebooks and journals). I understand it is a highly competitive space. Even though I have had no sales so far (which definitely is a high expectation from my end and I understand from the videos that it takes time, continuous effort and patience to see the first sale happen), what would you recommend for a beginner like me - to stay in Low content books or to scale up and invest into high content looks through ghostwriters?
Hi Rismi, low content books are great, they don't take as much time and they bring easy sales. It's nearly the same for high content books with the right key words and when you invest in the right marketing strategies for both high content and low content books, getting sales becomes really easy. I had the same problem as you for several months before a business mate introduced me to ways that made the biggest changes in my writing career. I'd like us to share helpful ideas. Is there any way I can connect with you apart from RU-vid?
Hi there Dane, thank you for such a helpful video. I wanted to ask you: what do you mean by having less promotional slots in week 1 and 2 and more in week 3 and 4. Is it purchasing fewer promotional "places" where this sites will promote our books during the first weeks and then increase them?
Great video, thank you. Any ideas for pre-launching low content books for newbies? I’m starting out in low content to hopefully save enough to pay for your course and for my first non-fiction book release, so I want to do it the right way. But you can’t really give away low-content books on free booksy though since they don’t really have actual content to read, right?…..and I’m just starting, so I don’t have an email list built yet…so do you have any other strategies for getting those 10ish reviews quickly so I can then start running ads?? Thanks so much for your videos and your time.
Hi Dane I have watched this video at least 30 times in the last few weeks. I think your strategy is amazing and this is exactly what I will be doing for my first book. I just have on question, once the 30 days is over are we able to then go back and add our books to kdp select?
Thanks for the great tips! When using the early reader sites such as booksprout - will readers be leaving reviews that are not verified purchases? Do you find that the reviews get accepted and still help the algorithm? Thanks a lot!
How many sales per week when you are launching help to get a good ranking? 1-20? 20-40? 40-100 sales? How many comments and sales roughly? Thanks!! You rock!

Hey man, great stuff. Can you provide a bit of help on how to time a release with Amazon's review process? I'm preparing for release and don't want to do a pre-order. Can the book be approved and ready to go before you make it live and available? Just to ensure that your promotional dates of release remain correct? Thanks so much.
Hi Dane, your advice is to launch one's e-book as a free book for the first 2 weeks. Do you advise launching a paperback version at the same time? If so, at what price point? Thanks.
Yes, always at the same time. Price the PP lower than you competition in order to get it selling/ranking during the first month. Once you've accomplished that, then experiment with your price.
Thanks Dane a lot just one question please I have to upload my ebook on booksprout before I publish it on kdp? Or I can upload it when my ebook on kdp during the 5 days free promotion??? Thanks a lot Dane🌹🌹🌹
Has to be on there before KDP. You can't have it enrolled in KDP Select at the same time it's on Booksprout. If it isn't on KDP Select, you can do booksprout whenever.
If you only had 3 possible keywords for your book and they were eg (made up example) buddhist books for men (1k search) buddhist book for men (403 search) mens buddhist books (492 search) And it didn’t fit for the title, although you maybe could put “(buddhist men)” on the end of the title. You already have the phrase “buddhist men” as part of your subtitle… 1) Would having a series title called one of the 3 keywords help? Eg “buddhist books for men” 2) a) Do I need “book” or “books” in my title or subtitle to rank for any of the 3 keyword phrases? b) All other things being equal would that be enough to rank against other books in the niche, most of the bestsellers not having the keywords in the title (a few have 1 word from a keyword), and none having the word “book” or “books” in the title. Thanks
Because low content books (journals, coloring books...etc) will usually be a paperback, not ebook (kindle) which means i won't be able to make free promotions and count down deals with it
Would it still be okay to use booksprout for my ebook that already has a shelf life of 2 months? Or should I make a new listing and use Booksprout within the first 2-3weeks?
the sites where to promote books usually don't work, I have tested them and the only ones I find are other people who promote their books and not readers
If this is simplified my name is GW Bush hahaha ! More seriously creating a following in few days before launching isn't realistic from my point of view. We all know how hard it is to build an audience consistently. In this video you are talking about yourself that is to say someone who already has an audience, who started KDP years ago when things where easier and who has a quite good experience. You are not giving us someting manageable for us neewbies at all but instead you are overwhelming our minds. Is there a really simplified strategy for someone who starts from scratch in order to make his first dollars on amazon kdp or is it a hard game to win so tell this to your audience in order to be more beneficial to them. Thank you !
Hi Dean! Please can you give me your opinion on whether we can trust Publisher Rocket? Many of the results I get from it don't seem to concur at all with KD Spy and Amazon search box results. Sometimes they just seem way off. Like saying there is huge competition when there are only a few page results or huge monthly sales when there are only a few people searching. Can we trust this tool or is it leading us astray? I really think this is so important in our decision-making. Really appreciate any comment you might have. PS/ Thanks for your videos, I think you're great!
Dane, I wish you had published this video before. My book is in amazon and enrolled it in kdp select. I have done everything on the contrary and now, of course, it has been hard. I haven't used my free days although and not promoted for 99c. Do you think is there any damage control when you do things on the contrary?

Dane, love your videos. I just have to ask you something. I published my book on June 7 this year and have been on page 1, number 1 often, ever since. But I am only selling a book ever couple of days. Do you know why this is? Thanks, Sally
Hi Dane. I published my book on 18 June 2021. My targeted reviewers did not pull through for me. I have a few from Italy and Canada but they do not appear on the US Amazon site. I have now come up with a new strategy and anticipate reviews to start coming in in about three weeks. Would you suggest that I unpublish and republish the book for better timing for the reviews?
I wouldn't unpublish, just wait and see how things go once they are live and then make your decision, I can't see it being much of an issue waiting a bit longer though. But yes, if someone reviews your book outside of the US, that review most likely won't ever show on .com.
hey dane i would to send you my book its a coloring book and would you like to tell me what i did wrong cause i did everything i can good cover good description from fiver but nothing zero sales
Hi Bob, sorry about the missed sessions. If you don’t mind, send me a message on Facebook and we can talk through there. My name on Facebook is Dane McBeth and I use the same profile picture as the one on here 🙂
These strategies just all boil down to those who have a good email list or followers on social media or customer base already. If you don't have these structures, then this won't help at all. I thought you would reveal more organic ways to get this done without having to build a following, not everyone has that luxury. (Cos obviously if I had a following I could sell anything to them, the least of which will be books.)
