If i recall correctly, Wurrzag in player's hands have only 2 magic missile attacks, but when controlled by AI he can outshoot even ratling gunners with his missiles

With Eltharion I had on almost every battle (didn't remember how though) free casts and almost no recharge timer but only for his magic missile (soul quench I think in English)... Quite enjoyable actually. But it was for (t)his campaign only.

@@johnsullivan186 They really could just make welves similar to beastmen on campaign map, instead of herdstones you'd get world tree seeds that allow you to make a proper welf settlement, and once you heal it, you get more and can keep going. Victory condition could be like linking Old World forests like Laurelorn and Forest of Gloom to Athel Loren for Orion/Durthu or just getting enough new world trees up for SoT/Drycha, so you'd actually have to play the game instead of camping for 100+ turns and fighting one battle.

i love when the AI targets your artillery with anything they immediately destroy something, but when you hit them it only kills a few units and the pieces are still fine

@@theportaltomusapita Kroak doesn't have the ability to heal your guys like Ariel does I guess, but Kroak would generally be supporting a Life Slann wouldn't he. We need to do some science to establish who is truly the greatest.

6:31 CA actually implemented *separate targeting and moving* on naval battles of earlier titles, so the technology is already there, they just don't care anymore. Also, stepping back while still engaging the enemy (which was also used on ships) would be great.

They implemented a LOT of good mechanical things in Rome 2 and that gen but seemed to have abandoned it? Like the skill for battle barricades, large open sieges, mountable artillery, etc. I don't understand why they backtracked

I have always struggled with units can fire when moving, if the target is not facing them directly they always shoot the same target when they are moving. especially with shadow walkers, pain in the ass for sure.

Talon of Dusk is also significantly stronger for single entities. It just requires more micro (i.e. Fly above targer and manually shoot so shots overlap. More effectice against both foot and larger single entities by a noticeable amount). Talon of Dawn is only really useful if you can't spare the micro.

It's a lot like a dragon breath. You'd think it's meant for blob targeting, but if you can compress all that damage that's *supposed* to spread into one big shotgun instead, it will melt single entities better than almost anything else.

Battlefleet Gothic 2 has a system like that like that were you can issue a move command then shift click the target you want to shoot at it and you will move in in direction you want while focus firing the unit you want to shoot at.

The "Pick something to shoot at and move" was already in Empire Total War via Naval Battles. I don't know why it's so hard to implement for move and shoot land battles...

I am not sure which one is worse - not being able to get Ceithin-Har or have Ariel loose all of her unique items. Anytime I start a new campaign with that faction I always run into one or the other.

Yeah, and if you confederate them as a different Wood Elf faction... You get Ceithin Har guaranteed, but not the 'united again' Trait so you loose the ability to summon the off-mount.

For Ceithin Har... There's a mod that adds a dev console, and among other things, you can manually advance quest markers (I think). It's super annoying that that quest is so buggy, though...

I've had more success shotgunning small and large entities with the volley than the single target - fly above them and hit them straight on their head.

Single shots from Sisters are ok, it is not penetrate Wurrzag physical resistance, but multishots is obvious choice in 99% cases. Ariel definitely the best (Crying in Grimgor)

COH2 can do it and its heaps old lol, they also let their units move backwards and fire. Imagine that with a fire whilst moving unit that cant shoot in all directions like huntsmen, I mean why can't total war do it lol. The AI doesn't have that trouble though and always gets to shoot what they want lol

I wish Hawk Riders for all factions got 1 of those abilities (Sisters could buff the amount instead); I feel like Hawk Riders are just awful, but the arrows of kurnous could make them a good, yet balanced, anti-artillery with upside to give the Wood Elves a solid way to challenge artillery and just hide to prevent being outranged.

Your point about just plain running out of ammo against big armies makes me wonder if the winds of magic changes in 3 are going to make it generally harder for Wood Elves and other missile-based factions to punch above their weight as they have been able to in the past.

Well of course she is, she's blue, has mommy milkers the size of a dinner table, she's like 10-12 feet tall, has butterfly wings to float over the battlefield so she can't get hit, and has tons of magic to cripple the enemy. Truly won- I mean, terrible to fight. 😏

Well it kind of makes sense, even in real life you don't shoot 100k rockets to some soldier standing in the field with few rounds in his rifle you would spend 10milions for 100 soldiers and your general would not be happy about it. So archers without arrows can be worthless.

Nah they are weaker then pretty much all factions, before the patch they were broken if you knew how to play them. Legend has a steam where he uses them as a deficit banking system while spamming tree-man stacks all over the place.
