Join us for a wander along the Paradise Valley Levada. We'll show you how to get there and get back by bus. And if you've done this hike yourself, do let us know what you thought of it.
Ah we do love a levada or two, but you do need a head for hight on many. At least they've added the odd railing in to the really vertiginous ones, it used to be a bit of a life in your hands scenario. Thanks for staying in contact.
@@LivingWalks Not really. I'm doing ok with my latest rain walk but I'm sure that's a fluke too. The views dropped drastically after a day of posting...
Thanks Mike & Yvonne, you had me at "snack bar" & "pastel de nada" lol! ☺ It's so good to see you back on the Pearl as it's helping with my recovery, seeing that I had a bit of an unexpected heart attack a couple of weeks ago! I'm recuperating at my parents' house in Chester now after a week in hospital, so God bless the NHS! Believe it or not editing videos lowers my heart rate & blood pressure, as I found out in hospital when they came to take my readings while I was on my laptop; it must be all the imagery of Madeira I'm currently contending with at the moment! So I think your secret is out, have you two DJI Pocket 2 cameras amongst your arsenal?! Thanks for sharing such a detailed jaunt with the relevant info of a levada walk which I was unaware of, so I'd say it's doable in my current state because the hills were literally killing me back in April without me realising it lol! 🤣 I often learn a new word watching your vlogs & this week it's "precipitous", so bring it on with the fun education! Have a truly beautiful week my friends 🤗
Oh good heavens Rue, how sorry we are to hear about your unexpected heart attack a couple of weeks ago, so that must have been just as you came back from Madeira? I expect you're pretty pleased to be out of hospital but as you say good old NHS for being there... and good old Mum and Dad too, it's at times like these that we really value family isn't it. How interesting to hear that editing your videos lowers your heart rate & blood pressure! I guess they are quite immersive and ah yes the lovely imagery of beautiful Madeira can only be a positive thing. Glad to introduce "precipitous"to you, you've given me a challenge now for each video!! Anyway keep us updated won't you, we'll be thinking of you. All the best and a big hug from the both of us in the meantime dear friend.
@@LivingWalks Thanks Mike & Yvonne for your lovely words ☺ I was only in Madeira for 2 weeks for the last part of April, but I thought I'd wait until I got back to the UK before getting checked by an NHS GP as you have to pay in the Republic of Ireland, unless you've a medical card. I was however getting discomfort & pain in my chest & left arm in the meantime if I exerted myself. Thankfully with plenty of rest I'm on the mend now but I really have to be careful from now on if I'm to avoid a bypass. In the meantime my Madeira vlogs are performing pretty well considering as slowly but surely, I'm edging closer to the magic 1000 subscribers & 4000 watch hours! 😉😁
Hiya Grampsworld, well I'd have to say this one, as it's flat and easy and you can always backtrack if it gets too long, or get the bus as described at the other end. Hope to bring you many more.
Happy to bring it to you WA, hope you get to experience it for real someday. Thanks too for your recent Amersfoort City Walking Tour too. Much enjoyed.
