@@CatholicGaming It is family friendly, but very boring compared to Minecraft. Its strong survival aspects won't make it very popular with kids, IMO. You are hungry all the time. Making an iron pickaxe is a looong endeavor. It is a voxel game like MC, but it is not a sandbox game like MC. The gameplay loop is repetitive. I have it, and I don't recommend it, unless you enjoy hardcore survival. The blocks and music are nice, though.
Hey, nocaps! Just wanted you to know that I recently discovered your channel while cruising for some nivalis news and it's exactly what I've been trying to find for ages. A channel that focuses on smaller, more obscure games with short reviews to give me an idea of whether they're my cup or tea or not. No clickbait, no nonsense, so refreshing. Love your channel, thank you for doing it.
Hello nocaps ! I am surprised you haven't talked about Enshrouded yet. It's not your typically cube-like voxel game, but it is fully voxel and it's... Gorgeous.
Sandbox usually means a game without a set objective, or with a long-term objective without a set path to it, leaving most of the game to the player's creativity. They are usually built in a systemic fashion, i.e. the world operates on a set of systems the player has to interact with in a freeform way.
