I had my first ATR flight when I was a kid from Manila to Caticlan. Caticlan Airport at that time is small that only the turboprop aircraft are commonly serving all the way from Manila.
I used to fly a Gulfstream G-550 from Subang to Seletar often 2010-2014. It's amazing how much they have grown Seletar. I always loved Subang airport. So simple and easy. I miss living in KL what a great city.
Welcome you and 6’4 back to Singapore! It’s great to see your review of this flight. I have never flown on a turboprop before, so it’s very intriguing. Nice to see the short snippet of Seletar’s interior. I believe most of us, including Singaporeans, have never been there.
Great video Jayden! Interesting you didn’t get lounge access with your oneworld status when you do on Jetstar but looks like a great experience and so cheap!
to be fair you get lounge access flying with Jetstar only if you're an elite of Qantas. Firefly don't recognise/ask for my oneworld status at all haha. Wish they did!

Great to see you trying a different experience on a turbo prop plane, there are advertisements on the overhead bins and even under the tray table😮😄. Nice review Jayden. I flew them last year Langkawi to Penang for absolute peanuts on a 20 minute flight and got handed bottled water and snacks. Was totally not expecting that for a LCC let alone a flight which probably barely reaches a cruising altitude! It was a pleasant experience indeed.
3:51 currently only turboprop services are allowed from Subang in order not to cannibalize KUL. However theres plan to change this once the Subang Airport revitalization plan took off, so carriers such as MH, AK and even a new carrier called SKS Airways will deploy Embraer E190 from this ‘city airport’
Great vlog. I bet 6'4" was patiently waiting for you to finish your coffee OUTSIDE security at that airport. 😀 I loved the Hilton hotel scenes, such a nice looking hotel. I see someone trying to hide "in the closet" at 13:31 - haha, But a really nice flight, hotel and city vlog, great vibe and fun.
Love it and in terms of ATR-72s LCC which one will you choose 5J Philippines or Firefly Malaysia ATR-72. The Filipino ATR-72 was featured here when you did CX out of MNL T3
Another great trip report! I've never heard of Firefly, have to say I'm impressed, they're quite good! There's nothing like an exciting go around! What did you do to 6'4", looked like he was sound asleep! Did you like the ATR72? We've flown on this type of aircraft with Air New Zealand from Christchurch to Queenstown (from memory when you were there at the same time) I think it's a great regional aircraft... BTW my husband has the same man bag as 6'4"!! Love the Vlog of Singapore, great place!
Hahah early morning flight does him like this, I have no sleep pattern but he does (just finished uni and soon starting a 9-5 job) Without two espresso shots he will collapse 🤣 We bought that bag in Apliu Street Flea Market in HK for $100HKD. Yours probably real, 6’4’s fake haha
I've flew on their 737 from Kota Kinabalu to Kuching. however the seat is thinner but still comfortable. We get free snacks and water also. I would like to fly Firefly again and try their buy on board meals
Thanks for the turbo prop report and vlog with friends. The closest I've been to Singapore is a cocktail I would order sometimes in the '70's. The Singapore Sling. Lol
How nostalgic, an aeroplane with propellers! I flew all around the world on them! (Lockheed Super Constellations)! 😄Also what's this with luggage? I was told not so long ago to take stuff out of my on-board bag and put it in the bag to go in the hold - because it was over weight. Both bags were going on the same aeroplane! Work that one out! 😦
For Firefly’s case, the check in agent didn’t really care, but her computer prompts to charge me unless I reduce the weight (she couldn’t waive it) so she let me transfer stuff to my carry on (which became very over-weight)🤣
FY never promoted themselves as LCC..thats why checked-in luggage and snacks/meal included in the ticket. The fare too is not really low-cost, sometimes more expensive than Malaysia Airlines fare

Both airports are approximately the same distance to the city centre. However, Changi airport has more transport options and definitely more taxis and ride-share vehicles nearby. The area around Seletar Airport used to be a British military base and when you leave the airport, you can still see the remnants of those times. It’s a unique experience to go there, something you don’t see in most part of Singapore today.
be warned, firefly just changed our departure date and time without any notice, our booking was for August 10 at 10:15am, suddenly it was changed to August 9 at 7:45pm
