Wonderful video. I usually burn out in the Silver Age but your videos have kept me looking forward to the Mistlands. I hope to fight Moder for the first time today!
if you easly get burned out by the grind i recommend playing with a mod called Valheim plus, you can change some of the gather rate and have more quality of life options, i use it now when theres new updates seen as i dont want to spend that much time grinding away when ive already done the game like 5 times
@@t0ssacoin408 it is which is why this mod is great, it can make it so you can change how much crop you get from each plant, including berries mushrooms and what you grow, you can also change metal nodes drops and such, its simply a life saver
Good ideas. Moder was terribly easy. Plains have been fun so far, so I’m enjoying it. I use a seed finder online so I Atleast know where bosses, structures and such are. So the “sailing around till you find something” is gone for me Atleast.
you forget to tell that protection bubble takes chop and pickaxe damage from heavy monsters as plus damage from normal type of damage , making bubbles very weak against them for example , seeker soldiers stomp attacks do 120 blunt 100 chop and 100 pickaxe : 320 , the bubble takes all that damage at once , tested with blood magic 54 .... bubble just survive 2 stomp hits .... so nope , in a team where damage scales , if the heavy target isnt killed faster you most spam A LOT the bubble making the support have no HP , so if something hit him is a GG .... one cant even test with bonemass because have 1000 chop damage at least is good vs The Queen , because have not chop or pickaxe damage in her set
Now I need them to update combat. Being slightly higher or lower always equals my attacks not landing . I wish where the weapon lands was the hit box instead of show hit boxes
Itd be nice if the hitbox and player model adjusted with where you are naming. That would fix the issue. Currently I just main spear, so I can always just throw my spear if it is a bad angle.
So, wherever the weapon is on the screen is literally what will hit. Weapons with longer animations usually hit more often since they basically carve a more varied groove in the air during the animation. What might fix a lot of the problems would be a way to adjust the pitch of your attack based on cursor placement or directional mouse movement (better for first-person POV imo).
Keep in mind the Skeletons feel weak rn despite being "End Game" but this isnt actually the end game items lol, we have at min 2 more Biomes after Mistlands, they may be weak in Mistlands due to resistances/terrain but end up pretty strong in the next few Biomes, especially when they inevitably raise the max level of the magic gear. ashlands seems pretty flat and stuff will probs be balanced more evenly so they will probably perform pretty well there, espcially if you can raise 4-5 for like 15% health or something
Staff of blood can be used with all other builds for just one food change. If your skill is low, take 2 magic food, summon, puke, eat what you want but keep 1 magic food to refresh bubble. (Shroom is fully renewable, no jelly) Any class can use a shield with a few hundreds of hp extra.
I have so much to learn now coming back to valheim. I noticed a lot of videos iv seen are using mods but theres a ton of stuff I havnt seen yet. This is awesome adds good depth. Now just needs a daily quest vendor randomly located. Maybe better in depth cave systems like minecraft but these updates look awesome. Iv been relearning the game the last few days. Im still trying to find out how to make all the new items.
Tons of new content. I am definitely looking forward to the upcoming quest they will be adding. I for sure hope they add some kind of daily quest system.
So I've put about 1500 hours into Valheim and main a spellsword build and 100% agree that the staff of embers is the best magic weapon. One additional reason why that you didn't even mention that if you hit a target multiple times with the fireballs during the ticking damage, that it resets the timer and increases the damage of each tick. I've gotten it up to ticking for over 50+ damage PER TICK after popping an Eitr Potion. With a mage build you can use them as a DPS pot and spam fireballs for at least 5 seconds, leading to some insane burst damage with chunky 50+ ticks if the 5 fireballs to the face didn't already kill the thing.
5:00 you are missing something big here on the math. if you unload all 5 fire hits on a target the burn will stack 5x THEN it only takes one hit to keep the fire going at 5 stacks. Its a big deal because you will get back enough mana (eitr? w/e) to launch another fireball before the first 5 stacks go out if you have at least the chest and pants on at 80% regen.
I knew of it, but decided I wanted to just try and show the raw damage of 1 attack without any extra help. You are right though, to get the most dps, stack the fire damage on the staff.
As a weapon: The Staff of Embers - bludgeoning is the least resisted damage type in the game and Fire with the DOT means it's still pretty useful. But as an item: Staff of Protection - Completely changes the game on what armor set you need and the ability to parry any attack with it is nuts when combo'd with high-hit attacks like the sword/dual daggers.
Staff of Protection makes alot of armors viable. The only downside is you sacrifice health and stamina for the shield. So if you wanted to use melee only, you would be shorting yourself. I don't think too many people would have that problem though.
@@t0ssacoin408 Even in melee I'd keep a staff though, drop to 30 health, might as well bubble, it'll give you more mileage than your actual health anyway. Honestly though it SHINES with the Fenris armour set. Increased movement, AND a huge healthbar means you can almost always run away to refuel it. Absolutely amazing against bosses, though slightly worse in the dungeons.
@@autodidacticpoly Was definitely testing it in the dungeons. Works quite well. I was missing my extra stamina at times, but the bubble saved me quite a few times.

Great vid! I see you are already seeing the power of magic :) by the way, you can use the protective bubble on tamed animals such as loxen and wolves... Imagine a bunch of 2 start bubbled wolves on your side.... You would take down Yaglutj in seconds...;)
Could you make a video about the best melee weapons? Since there are not many videos about that since the mistlands update. I think before the update, black metal shield and porcupine used to be the best.
3:55 its ez to lvl.. u need an afk over night system and the Dark Forest spawners dont cut it for speed. here we go find swamp spawners (3) cover with hoe(so you dont break them) put portal facing a big tree (an unbreakable one) warp into tree make another portal in the tree and make a small place with a fire and roof blah blah blah summon ranged skellys (use butchers knife) make sure they cant leave tree with a boarder of some kind make sure u have rest from the fire and roof (50% more xp is a must) and there you go. after 2 nights you will be at 100 (irl nights.. yeah)
Hi I’m new to valheim and I was wondering if you create a new world and use a character that you played with on a different world do all the gear and items in your inventory transfer over?
I keep forgetting to try the skeletons out I mainly run solo so even if they don't do a lot of damage just being able to put myself in a better position is huge.
The cost on the skeletons is just too high to use practically, so it's kinda hard to even really just train them up without a lot more prep than the other options take
Would staff of protection be good overall? leveling blood magic with skellies to have a bigger bubble shield as a non-magic character can also be useful
I think it would be, but if you wear heavy armor it isnt as useful as it would be to a low armor player, plus you have to make the dead raiser to level blood magic efficiently. That is why it made 2nd place for me. Protection staff can be useful overall, I just found the staff of embers more useful for majority of players.
its good for an archer but not for meele player , buuble can be crushed easily by heavy monsters because takes chop and pickaxe damage as total damage ... , just using heavy armor 2 hp foods and 1 stam food + parry saves you much more than the bubble , that takes full damage even if you parry the monster ...
I got the mod that lets me level up weapons past lvl 4. (lvl 10 max) I wonder how it's gonna work with the blood magic weapons :D once i get to the Mistlands.
kinda sad magic comes in so late. i mean you get it in mistlands and then all you got is mistlands and base exploration with nothing to really do other than building outposts
I wish the magic element didn’t come at the expense of health and stamina decreases. Otherwise I’d use magic a lot more. Just doesn’t seem worth it atm
@@t0ssacoin408 also each hit with the staffs take so much eitr. The dead raiser needs 100 unless u level up. Not worth it when I can use 200+ stamina and health easily. But hopefully they make it more meaningful in next update
@@zachsingh1 I am half way through Mistlands. Ashlands dropped today. Not sure about upgrades, but I was mostly sword/club main with bow for ranged problems. I must say, doing 1 health + 1 stamina + 1 magic food is just great. You drop bubble, wait, after that 2 fireballs, go in, deplete stamina, frost to slow enemies and damage (or more fireballs if you're using Frostner) - go in, repeat. I did grind elemental magic a little, to 50, but it feels great to mix it since eitr is separate resource, you can constantly dish out damage or soak more damage with bubble. Killing bunnies with fireballs is so much easier vs bow, and I am a typical PC guy who loves to aim, but those little rats are horrible to aim at..
I gotta say the skeletons were utterly disappointing given their weakness in combat and inability to traverse the obnoxious terrain in the biome you get them. I mix my mage armor with a helmet. The helmet provides more armor, does *not* reduce speed, and the mage hood only adds +20% regen so the drop in armor is less worth it. Wear a helmet.
THe BEst? There is only 4 magical weapons!!!! One shields you, another spawns a skeleton, one shoots FIRE BALLS and another IDK EVEEN KNOW WHAT THAT POS IS
All Magic are the best, you need them all for diffrent situations. its dumb to say there is a ''best'' magic. a shield doesent help you if you cant defent yourself. I dont even use the shield that much. when you use your spells right, there is no need for the shield anytime.
@@t0ssacoin408 I got them all equiped when im moving out :D But the shild is great, but i noticed i actualy dont even get hit that much. i mostly use it only to shield my skelettons thats it hehe.
@@t0ssacoin408 true true. im anyway mostly in my speed build :D that mystlands profits a big bunch from the Fenris armor. well, atlest thats what i think. that 20% more speed over an heavy armor, makes you also jump 20% further, and run up mountains more efficient. so yea, im mostly in my Fenris, unless i have to fight something. but for scouting and find Dveger ruins and stuff, i swer for the Fenris ;)
@@rogerstalder7184 I honestly think that is the best use of Fenris. It isnt quite a dungeon diving armor, but for scouting there is nothing that can match it.
