Discovering Korean and Japanese sunscreens have been life-changing for me. I almost never wore sunscreen before and now I wear it every day. The formulations are so nice! (Also, that lip color is perfect on you, Robert!)
@morion2436 Yea! I currently use Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun (usually when I don't wear makeup) and the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen (when I wear makeup).
@@mōri_-3v3I really, really, really like Missha All Around Safe Essence Sun Milk, the one with a greenish top. Very affordable, no scent, no white cast, absorbs quickly and works well under foundation. This is the only sunscreen I have repurchased. I have very dry skin, so I frequently use the Missha over a lightweight moisturizer. When my skin is in good condition, the Missha is fine on its own.
Do you think that these sunscreens could be used on the whole body? One of my jobs I work outside a lot and have a lot of sun exposure even with suncreen on. I usually like to use a zinc one
@scoutharris8586 They definitely could, but I don't think I'd recommend it. They come in smaller tubes than a sunscreen intended for the body, so I don't think it would make sense from a financial standpoint. They aren't expensive, but you obviously need a lot of sunscreen to cover your body so you'd run out super fast. I personally use these nicer formulations on my face and then cheaper, drugstore brands for the body
You’ve become the standard for makeups according to my son (7). Whenever he sees anyone wearing makeup he assumes that it either is you, or it’s someone who learned from your videos. 😊
Robert- I’m SO happy that you included the SPF step! Too many people leave that part out, which is a future tragedy for their skin. Thank you for being awesome! 💖💖💖
Jung Saem Mool is such a household name when it comes to k-beauty and Korean celebrity makeup artists. I have a lot of her products and they just work so nicely! More on the pricey side but I'd say it's all worth it.
I'm deep-dark skin range but the K beauty sunscreens, oil cleansers and some of the eyeshadows I've tried have been pure gold. The Kikumasamune rice toner lotion is a joy. The Corsx line? Heavenly. I'm 44 and my skin feels amaaaaazing after adding many products to my repertoire.
I love makeup tips! I'm 48 and I only really got into makeup during lockdown. Now I love doing my makeup. I have so much fun with this kind of self expression ❤🎉
I love that eye loook. The way I gasped when you got out the glitterpedia lol. "But Robert hates glitter?!" You've made me want to buy it though I love the colours they're so pretty. I've been wanting to try Korean eyeshadows for ages.
I’m obsessed!! It’s really really nice to see a video on technique vs just products. I hate the “buy buy buy” mentality in the online beauty community these days and I’m personally doing a “no buy” for the rest of the year (to use up the loads of products I have accumulated before buying a replacement).
I just love love love Asian Beauty and have been following the scene for about 10 years now. They just come up with the best products and flattering techniques. Especially the sunscreens, face treatments and lip products are miles beyond everything you can get in the West to the point where I ask myself why we still have such crappily formulated stuff from our main brands here *looking at L'Oréal and Nivea*
I had to comment after the Satin Wear Healthy Green product... Your skin looks *incredible* with that on! So natural and dewy, glowing and well, healthy! I need ALL of these! 😆😆
One thing I will say (i've been buying from skincupid for nearly two years now one of the first thigns i bought was an etude lip tint), one thing you see alot in like kdramas and things that works really well with the etude fixing tints is the whole place the colour in the centre of the lips and blur it out. it gives that sort of just kiss, slightly more pouty look that's huge in kbeauty
That mascara is bulletproof! I would try the mascara remover from Isehan. Asian waterproof makeup is formulated to withstand humidity especially during the summer and rainy seasons.
I adore Kbeauty! Thank you Robert! I actually learned about, the beautiful way, that Korean makeup artists do their no makeup makeup look, from falling in love with Kpop years ago. Be safe, be strong & remember to Love Yourself, so that you may best love others. 🙏💪💜
I've been using more Korean skincare and makeup these days, as well as using some of the techniques you shown today. The flat brush for powder under my eyes has especially been a game-changer!
How heavy is the cream/liquid, and do you blot before powdering? I find if there's too much oil/moisture, powdering it exaggerated texture/lines, while powder foundation alone did not. After seeing Robert blot delicately blot excess skincare away before foundation, I have tried it to varying degrees of success.
@@julieslovelyworldit might be the type of product you’re using that’s causing problems.. I have really dry skin and it seems like most concealers/skin correctors for under eyes do the same exact thing to me regardless of what tricks I try lol.. especially if they’re at all matte or satin finishes. The best concealer and foundation I’ve ever tried that doesn’t fall into my wrinkles under the eyes is Armani Luminous Silk foundation and concealer- especially the concealer, I actually rarely, if ever use the foundation. Also, another one that I recently tried and ended up buying 3 in multiple shades because it works so well is Hourglass veil retouching fluid. It’s *very* light coverage so if you’re looking for full coverage it won’t work but I absolutely LOVE it.. I use it on my under eyes and on my rosacea if it’s flaring up, and it evens out my skin without being drying or looking like I have a ton of makeup on. Same with the Armani. I can’t say enough good things about them:)
I LOVE unleashia! I bought every eyeshadow palette from them because they have my favorite eyeshadow formula and the colors are so pretty, I'll never need another pallette again--until I run out of these of course. Also, the purple eye look looks great on you, Robert!
I live for medi-heal’s toner pads, the collagen ones are the best. Their exfoliating pad is also pretty great without drying you out. I also only use Korean spf and ampoules. I feel like maybe only the French come close with ampoules or serums that work best to keep you hydrated but never oily You are absolutely glowing!! Love the look
I went to Korea as an English teacher in 2007 and was there for 3 years. Was such a game changer for my skin and makeup. At last, foundation that worked for my pale skin! I have to be careful with the undertones, but as a woman with dark hair and very light skin, Korean makeup often suites me. I love Etude House, Innisfree, Too Cool for School, and Black Rouge. Korean lipsticks are amazing too, and don't dry out my lips.
Korean skincare and makeup techniques have really been the best 🩷 My skin has never looked so good. I'm also glad Unleashia has started to get recognition lately, they were one of the first vegan Kbeauty makeup brands a couple years ago. Their glitters work so well.
Love this look on you! Really highlights your cute eyes, and I LOVE that lip colour on you! I love the Korean makeup styles, they look like timeless classic styles to me, kinda like back when people wanted to look glamorous but not like they had much (or no) makeup on. Don’t get me wrong, I am learning to love a big drama eye! But when I was taught makeup as a kid-teen I was told by family/friends to “pick eyes or lips” and make eyeshadow look subtle! If I wore eyeshadow I was supposed to make my lips look nude/clear gloss, and if I wore a strong lipstick, I was supposed to have nothing but a bit of eyeliner on.
Omg I'm tempted to try Korean makeup, I already have a sunscreen that gives that super dewy glass skin look without breaking out my skin and it's beautiful under foundation, it's the Bondi Sands SPF 50 Sunscreen. My skin is crazy sensitive, so I'm nervous about using that citrus toner or anything with fragrance, but I'd definitely try the eyeshadow.
Beautifully done. I love how subtle S. Korean makeup looks, while maintaining depth. So much of my skincare is S. Korean, a little Japanese, and that’s after I culled all the ‘viral”, “must have”, or not even popular in Asia.
Thank you for this video, Robert! I purchased some K Beauty previously (based on your recommendations of course) and I couldn't believe how much better everything worked. You turned me on Moonshot cushion foundation and Etude lip products. Never going back. Plus, Moonshot has the best sparkly black compacts. 🖤
I LOVE the Heimish Artless Glow base! I use it on its own for a little bit of glow and spf50. 50! Absolutely lovely product, I just wish it didn't have a fragrance. And OMG Jung Saem Mool is an absolute artist when it comes to skin, it's so soothing and hypnotising even to watch her move a brush across the skin of her clients. Incredible, amazing, chefs kiss!
You are so close to hitting 1 million and I’m so so happy for you. You deserve it! I love watching you and James. I’ve seen every single one of both of you and your joint one and I’ve been so excited for you! Hopefully a makeup launch soon😉🤍
I love how gleeful Robert gets when he likes something. It's an instantaneous can't help but smile, at least for me while I'm watching it. The cheek thing is something I have always done, and it's worked for well over four decades so why stop, right? The trendy methods don't tend to flatter my face shape, so it irritates me when I get told I'm "not doing it right", because I am for my face. I'm half Korean, and my Mother was adamant on skincare/SPF being more important than makeup, so subtle blush and subtle lip tints were the only makeup I could have until I was an adult(though if one is clever, blush can be more than blush😼). As a kid, I balked, but as an adult, I appreciate it so much, and love seeing makeup artists promote healthy skin. My frustration, right after abysmal shade options for Olive skin, is how super heavy most liquid foundation/BB/serum/tints are, and how it collects in my texture/lines. I do love the techniques you've shared with us, as I am finding ways to use up what I have for casual days and not waste it, as well as making my favourite powder foundations last longer, so thank you.
You are positively GLOWING Robert!!✨ It’s so good to see you so happy and excited:) Your energy was positively radiating through the screen and it was utterly contagious!💕 Btw, I love how you incorporated skincare into your routine for us today..(even though I know you consider it more James’ domain😉) it was really, really nice watching you talk about it and share it all with us:). You could definitely see how plump and dewy your skin looked even after powdering. Fantastic video:) Much love!🥰💕
I LOVED this video! I like the subtle color and the layering process, definitely going to try this. I always learn something new in your videos Robert- you're such a gem 💎 Thank you!
I was watching a paranormal video earlier and the young lady that was telling the story was doing her makeup. I swear she literally used 15 skin prep items!!! She just kept putting stuff on!!! You look incredible!!! Beautiful makeup❤❤
I'm so happy with this video because I have been loving korean brand makeup. I love the quality of them and the affordable prices. Love your channel Robert! Keep doing more videos on korean makeup.
LOOOOOOOOOOOVE K-beauty and skin care OMG Robert you looked so fresh and pampered in your skin prep. You have influenced/encouraged me to do my full skin care as soon as this video is over -- just to feel so glowy!!! Thank you for the makeup tutorial. I love this look!!! Also love the original taupe color you put on the lid. This is a must have palette now. 💜🖤💋
I started with Korean and Japanese sunscreens and fell in love with those. Now I'm venturing into Korean and Japanese skincare. My next dive will be into makeup so definitely going to bookmark this video for the future.
This was such a great video! Thank you for showing the details, techniques, and key products to get a true K beauty skin look. The thing you did so so well is explaining the why and how.
This is my favourite video. The products look so interesting, and tubing mascara is my absolute jam. I'm obsessed. Best thing I ever did for my lashes was switch to it. The techniques feel so painterly.
Omg this is such a gorgeous look!! I am in my mid thirties and my taste in makeup has changed and I am really starting to dislike any heavy makeup at all on me, it just doesn’t look right. I can’t wait to try the technique you used for the under eye concealer and to use a flat foundation brush for powder 😊 this might just be my favorite look you’ve ever done ❤
You look gorgeous as usual - I really like this look on you! Not gonna lie, I’ve been holding back on K beauty for months and months but this video may have put me over the edge…😳😅 That SPF looks AMAZING!
Oh go for it!! You will not regret it!! ESPECIALLY with Korean SPF’s. My absolute favorites are Beauty of Joseon rice & probiotics 50spf ++++ and Innisfree Daily UV defense 36spf. They have both been beyond life changing when it comes to whether or not I would actually apply it daily or not. I never used to wear it growing up or in my early adulthood, but once I started getting serious about skincare, I still had a really hard time finding a good spf and actively wearing it, so it made such a huge difference when I found them:) They’re both just like a really light moisturizer that soaks right in, they don’t pill or leave any white cast whatsoever.. don’t make your eyes burn, don’t smell gross (unlike most spf’s where you can smell and almost taste the sunscreen for hours after applying..) and they wear *extremely* well under makeup. Best decision I’ve ever made in regards to my skin:) Hope this helps:) Good luck!!
Ohhhh I need to try those pads! And how fab that the company is right here in the UK! Stunning look as always Robert xxx so so close to the million! Love youuuuuuu xxx
yesssss this is so my type of makeup. i don’t know if you were planning on doing more kbeauty or not anyways, but i did suggest more kbeauty content recently and you absolutely pulled through for me, thank you!!!
Wow. Great video and love how affordable these routines are how you can mix and match products n u go through everything so well and say whats good how and what its about...you are just ❤❤❤
Robert, you were the reason I tried K-Beauty, and it was life-changing for me. I’m in the US (NYC), so I worry a little bit about shipping costs with Skin Cupid, but maybe I can find some of these products (at least the makeup) locally. I know I’d have to get the sunscreen online because the US is behind on some ingredients…
Love love love this video! I’ve been very interested in k-beauty skincare and makeup so I really enjoyed seeing all the products in action. Your skin looks fantastic and I absolutely love the eye look! Obsessed! Thank you for showcasing these products 😊 I’ve saved this video so I can go back and watch again and purchase some of the make up items. Oh and the spf as well! Have a great rest of your Sunday! ❤ xoxo
Great video, thank you. Jung Saem Mool is indeed an amazing MUA; I purchased one of her cushion foundations last year, but found the finish was too flat and ‘mineral’ like (probably too much zinc oxide for my preference). I guess I’ll need to play around with it more and see if I can make it work. I prefer a satin finish and not too much coverage; the Koreans seem to like a very full coverage from all the K-beauty videos I’ve watched. I will try the flat foundation brush technique with my powder tomorrow! I just love learning new makeup techniques from around the world, thank you so much Robert ❤
Robert. I love your normal looks, but this is so stunning. Absolutely stunning. And what’s up with it seeming like the last few k to 1M has taken forever???
Unleashia is my new favorite brand for eyeshadow. I ordered a pallette on a whim months ago. It's very different from other shadows. It suits the west Asian makeup style (Mistyped so it's edited)
