For anyone else who is American and didn't know the conversions here they are; 1 cup flour 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup coco powder 2 tsp baking powder 3/8 cup butter 1 2/3 cup water
I just made it, and it was good, but not great. It didn’t really taste like a cake but it definitely wasn’t bad and could probably fulfill your sweet tooth craving. My recommendations: add in some melted chocolate to the batter, add a bit more sugar, and replace the water with milk. And make sure you let the cake cool before adding the icing.
Recipe to screenshot: 150g plain flour 100g sugar 60g cocoa powder 2tbsp baking powder Whisk to combine 90g unsalted melted butter 380ml warm water Whisk Line a microwavable cake mould and pour in the batter Microwave at 400W for 5-6 min (check 1 min early) Cover: 100g dark chocolate 100ml double cream Microwave 1 min at 600W Stir gently Flip the cake upside down Pour the chocolate over it You can also use nutella or something at home for the cover
So I made this cake for my father's birthday, and, to be honest it was AMAZING. I did make a few changes like instead of butter I used oil same measurement, added 120 ml water less and it turned out amazing! it tastes better with sprinkles and icing. recommended trying! my whole family loved it it was the best tasting cake I made!
@@mixplate13 wait what do you need help with? the microwave time i used was 4 min, put a stick and if it comes out wet, 1 more mins, I think that what you need help with? the rest of the recipe is in the video, this is just what I did
I really appreciate the people posting their honest reviews about this cake. It’s refreshing seeing negative feedback because usually people only say the food’s delicious so we need more honest reviews!!
I mean, who would actually expect an amazing cake made on a microwave? Of course it's not gonna be as good as an actual cake, but for something done in the microwave it's not that bad
ALL people want is honesty and TRANSPARENCY! It makes these people relatable to us common folk! I’ve been saying this for a looong time!! And I’m seeing the need for it more and more!! So glad you wrote this comment!! ❤
For anyone wanting to make it: I tried it, and while it was good, it wasn’t the best. It took a lot longer to bake than she said to bake it for (it was still pretty much raw when I checked it after the 5-6 minutes), and it also sunk in the center. As for taste, it’s a lot more dense than a cake usually is, but it’s also super rich in flavor. It’s an okay recipe, but personally it’s not my favorite one in the whole world. So, if you want to try it for yourself, go for it, but keep in mind it’s not 100% perfect. I’d probably give this recipe a solid 6/10. Take this with a grain of salt, however, because I did replace the water with almond milk, and I used the oven at a similar temperature to that of the microwave (didn’t have a microwave-safe cake mould) so that might be where I went wrong.
Couple months ago, I found out that I developed an allergy towards eggs. Which sucked because I LOVE eggs. Anyhow, it's nice to see recipes that don't require them.
Ingredients: 150g plain flour 100g granulated sugar 60g cocoa powder 2tsp baking powder 90g unsalted butter, melted 380ml warm water 100g dark chocolate 100ml double cream 1) Line a 7" cake mould/dish with baking paper. 2) Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder until combined. 3) Add the melted butter and warm water and whisk until smooth. 4) Pour the cake batter into the dish. 5) Microwave on medium (400W) for 4-5 minutes and check it with a toothpick to see if it comes out clean. 6) Microwave for another minute. 7) In a bowl microwave (600W) the dark chocolate and double cream together for 1 minute. 8) Stir the mix gently until combined. 9) Flip the cake upside down onto a plate and remove the mould and the baking paper. 10) Let it cool, then pour the chocolate mix over the cake and smooth it out. 11) Enjoy!
It didn’t have much of a taste but I tweaked the recipe and found that if you add more sugar and less coca then replaced the water with milk it tasted very good and like a real cake
If you want something with the same consistency but with much more flavor. Try making a Swedish mud cake (Kladdkaka) really recommend it because it’s really tasty :D
Did you know that if your toothpick comes out clean your cake is overcooked? Take it out with just a bit of moist cake on the end of the pick and you’ll have a perfectly moist cake.
I wish I saw the comments before making it… I made sure the toothpick was dry and it was overcooked alright, it also tasted like water, maybe should’ve subbed all that water for milk. It would be cheaper plus taste better if i just bought the $5 cakes at food4less, what a waste of money on ingredients😢
Watching a masters chef create tree star menus while eating pizza from the freezer, watching top athletes compete in highest level sports while sitting on the sofa and wiggle your feet. Watching beautiful young people making love in a luxury environment while making love with yourself on the old couch. All that and all other similar things are called porn.
Tip: if you use yoghurt or sour cream, it'll make for an actual 'cake' texture and give it a more complex flavor. Also to complement the added sugar (i saw some people say the recipe is less sweet), add salt and expresso powder/instant coffee powder trusss the littlest amount elevates the chocolate. Happy -baking- microwaving!
@@Turtle_Emma10 youll be surprised to find out if youve ever had a bundt cake or an "old fashioned" cake donut youve likely had cake with sour cream in it! baking is a complex art and you cant assume something will taste bad just because of its properties before baking. its a science. im sure you wouldnt like the taste of raw eggs, flour, or baking powder much either, which is why we mix it together into these complex mixtures. sour cream in cake is a very common moisture additive. see: "Sour cream is one of the fattiest dairy products; the extra fat content (for example, adding sour cream to a cake instead of milk) will make the cake moister and richer, says Wilk. "Fat, in any form (butter, lard, cream, etc.) shortens gluten strands, which essentially leads to the most tender baked goods," she adds."
Tip from a professional pastry chef: "bloom" the chocolate for a minute or two by mixing the chocolate powder with the melted butter/ warm water before adding in the rest of the ingredients, blooming the chocolate does wonders for the taste! Also, I highly recommend using a teaspoon or two of vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste!
@estherliberman7332 make sure to level out your ingredients when you measure them, or better yet, use a scale, its worth getting one if you bake often, its cleaner, faster, and more accurate!
No, he means when something is hot or warm enough and it starts to cook what it is blended with, even slightly, in this case the cake mix. Which is why sometimes you may need to wait for things to cool to keep ingredients optimally conditioned
*Honest Review:* I did each and every step as mentioned in the video and the results were "meh". This recipe lacks sugar a lot, the thing that really carries this cake is the melted chocolate mixture on top. According to me, it requires more sugar in the base. Also, baking this in a microwave is a pain imo, it took longer than expected. It's alright but I personally won't be making this again.
How!? All recipes from her are too sweet, this Is the first comment complaining that her recipe lacks sugar! Not to be rude but u either have a really sweet tooth or this recipe does lack sugar
@@Memeverse_1012 I mean I actually tried the cake with exact measurements, for me.. it really wasn't sweet at all. Btw, I'm not the only one. There are a few comments stating about the same issue. One has 322 likes aswell so i'd say it's true. You seem right about me having a sweet tooth though ngl lol
@@FrostSavageGameplays oh well, then that's solved! the reason I commented that is coz it seemed strange that people are complaining about the lack of sugar when on most of her vids it's about too much sugar, anyways, have a good day!
@@Memeverse_1012 equal parts sugar to cocoa powder is definitely way too little sugar. Like seriously way too little. If you've done any sort of baking whatsoever before you'd realize this without even trying the recipe...
No eggs, chocolate microwave cake! Mix together 150g plain flour(1.2 cups), 100g sugar(2/3 cup), 60g cocoa powder(½ cup), 2 tsp baking powder and whisk until combined Add 90g of melted unsalted butter(⅓ cup) and 380ml of warm water(1 ½) and whisk until smooth Line a 7” baking pan and pour in the cake batter Microwave 400W (medium heat) for 5-6 minutes Add 100g of dark chocolate(¾ cup), 100ml of double cream(a little less than ½ cup) and microwave (600W) for 1 minute Stir gently until combined Take the cake out of the mold and pour the icing over the top Enjoy!
@@DeathnoteBB I think they mean the cake made in the Great Depression due to a shortage of a lot of things including eggs and milk the recipe was instead activated with vinegar oil and ice water anther name for it is a wacky or crazy cake.
why would you feel like a boy if you are not one? you are a boy, no matter what anyone says or what your biological gender is. no one can change the fact that you're a man, bro. I wish you a lot of mental strength and success for transitioning and hope that everything works out for you, man
just made this. wow it’s just awful. and i’m trying to be as nice as possible. i used the exact measurements with my scale and it just came out horrible. the texture is good, the taste is not. i’m shocked at the lack of sweetness in the cake seeing there was 100g put in. the frosting makes it just a tiny bit better. overall it was not good. it looks good but it didn’t taste good. and i’ve been baking for years update: it’s been about half an hour since i ate it and now my stomach hurts :D update 2: it tastes so much better the next day. the cake has settled and become much more dense, and the frosting hardened as well. not bad mow
I can’t thank you ENOUGH I literally make this so much in a week (not to much or me be fat) and it’s just amazing: tip: when you add the water add a bit of milk, it just makes it better :) TYSMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
@@Sevrl I didn’t say anything like “omg if i’m not happy she can’t be happy too👿” i just questioned why she was EXTRA happy like- TYSMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM It is just a cake👍🏻
to anyone with an egg allergy: It's incredibly easy to replace eggs in cake recipes! Half a banana replaces one medium sized egg. It should be pretty ripe, mash it and in there it goes! To counter the added sweetness put in a little less sugar and you're good to go. other replacements are mashed apples (about 1-2 spoons replace one egg), vinegar (1 spoon I believe, you won't taste it after baking) and many more, it's really not difficult to replace eggs!
Microwave cakes can be good when you put the right ammount of ingredients and they can be just as good as oven ones. We used to call them lazy cake with my niece
This video is so cool! But when I tried it out there was no flavor :( I was really excited to try out this recipe though, and I have a lot of fun making it!
5 or 6 mins are more, microwave onky fir two minutes, and this only looks delicious but actually not , this recipe would work great in small amount ( coffee cup) and replace the water with milk and microwave only for 2 minutes and mix the mixture with some dark chocolates too. It will taste good and if not you won't much regret coz you didn't wasted much ingredients
Ingredients: 150g plain flour 100g sugar 60g cocoa powder 2 tsp or teaspoon of baking powder Then whisk till combined or mixed make sure theres no umm how do you call it like those stuck big crumbs of the mixture Then 90g of unsalted butter but ofc melt it 380ml of warm water Whisk or mix till smooth and none of those big crumbs left
This is absolutely amazing! Just made it and I love it. Reading the comments I see some people had some constructive criticism on the texture but I personally loved the texture and It was my favourite thing about it. Love your channel😊
It's a great recipe amazing but to be honest it needs more sugar I would say 120g of sugar and instead of baking powder, we could use bicarbonate of soda 1tsp and 1 tsp of lemon juice
Omg ill have to try to make it!! Whenever I make microwave chocolate cake or cookies they always turn out dry and with a bad flavour so hopefully this one will be different!!
