Thank You Jimmy Great words of wisdom. If my husband and I disagree about anything - he stops talking to me - for weeks. I then find out that he has done what he wanted to do and his reason is because I made him mad. Then I cant bring it up because he says that's in the past and he's sorry. It goes on and on and on
When Israel displaced the Canaanites, the land was to distributed to all the tribes except the Levites who were the priests and spiritual workers. To level things out, a tithe of the produce of the land was given from the other tribes to the Levites. So Biblically, the tithe is produce not money, it's given to Levites not churches and it derives from the farmland of Israel and not from ordinary income. So, when you give to churches, you're giving an offering, not a tithe and it doesn't have to be 10%. It's all in the bible for anyone who wants to read it for themselves.
Except that we are not all farmers. 10% of ourcincrease...so for us it is in the form of money to support the church where we congregate and worship and receive teaching and fellowship.
@@jeanniebishop6775 Apparently your preconceived notions are preventing you from understanding what I said. Please read it again with an open mind instead of an attitude of trying to defend the established order. I'm not saying don't donate, I'm saying that it isn't a tithe. the tithe was for a specific purpose and for the Levites that is only valid when the Jewish priesthood is active as it will be again after the second coming. Instead we should willingly give, especially to the poor, a generous offering of any amount that you feel,, with the Lord's guidance is a just amount.
@@paulcohen6727 I do have pre-comceived notions. I also did not know the specifics in history in the Bible. However, I have read various ideas/opinions about tithing today. The Bible says to tithe 10% of your increase.
@Paul Cohen I think my incomplete post was inadvertently sent. I am not interested in a deep dive conversation about tithing. However, my belief is that tithing (10%) is both to the church and to help those in real need. Calling it tithe or offering is not that important to me. As long as it comes from my heart and not as an obligation that I begrudge. Your history lesson was enlightening.
No man can worship two masters, God and mammon.Lord I like Jimmy's preaching but as You see it's only for the rich. I'M 66 barely have enough to make it each month so his door slams in our face once again.
Not true. If you don't have love, it all means nothing anyway. Most people don't even make that money on average. Where did you get this idea from? Trust God. He will take care of you, Bruce. God created us all. He didn't create everyone to make that much money. We all have a purpose when serving God. If God is our Father, He will provide. Trust Him and not in riches, which can be destroyed.
If you love this guy… you missed the video where he said that no matter what you wife chooses for her career from a missionary to a rocket scientist… God want the husband “to his hurt” promote her even if we, men, never reach our desires!!!!! Sorry Evans… you are gender confused cause that isn’t what God taught. My heart was shocked and the Holy Spirit was not happy. This guy is a feminist. I used to love him. He needs to apologize and repent for such heresy.
