Not one of them looked at corners or checked behind them. You don't need to be checking your behind everytime, but at least once in a while, specially when you're invading a bomb site like that. Even still, high ranks often check corners, like the one he was hiding in.

That smoke he threw indicates that someone might push tunnels. A decent player would have checked the corner he was hiding in.

Also, at least one person would have spotted him on the radar.

I'm going to assume you are unfamiliar with CS:GO for the purposes of this response; if you actually are familiar, please don't take offense. :) In CS:GO, one team is tasked with placing a bomb at one of two sites, and defending it until it explodes. The other team is charged with preventing the bomb from going off. HOUNGOUNGAGNE is on the defending team. He rushes to a specific spot in the map to hide, and sees three of the five-man enemy squad rush by him. One of the enemies is holding the bomb. Since he's hiding out of their cone of vision, they don't notice him, so he decides to follow the bomb carrier directly to the bomb site. As soon as the bomb holder plants the bomb, HOUNGOUNGAGNE throws a flash-bang grenade to disorient and blind the enemies, and manages to disarm the bomb and end the round before they can react. Basically, HOUNGOUNGAGNE is a goddamned ninja.

If you've never played Counter-Strike, basically there are two teams fighting each other. There are various game modes, but the one they were playing, one team (terrorists) try to plant a bomb at one of two locations. If the bomb is planted, the other team (counter-terrorists) can still defuse the bomb. If the bomb blows up, the terrorists win, if the bomb is defused, the counter-terrorists win. If either team is completely wiped out, the team with members still standing wins. What happened here is he was a counter-terrorist. He hid behind the crate and the terrorists came out to go to one of the bomb planting locations. He followed behind them, all the while they had no idea he was behind them. He waited for the bomb to be planted and then threw a flashbang which blinded all the near by enemies. He then defused the bomb and won the game for his team.
