Do you think it matters that the main characters aren’t the same?

@@Mister_Awesome In some sort of way, yes The Pikmin trilogy so far has been following Olimar's adventures on PNF-404, but there's been an incredible amount of setup to something larger going on behind the scenes, almost like a C-Plot. It goes really deep into lore and involves Olimar. I would really love to see his return for this game and be playable in some way These new characters could be a different species than Olimar and the Pikmin 3 crew, so far we know of Hocotatians (Olimar, Louie, the President) and Koppaites (Alph, Brittany and Charlie) and they are distinguishable in race by nose and ear shape. After a little bit of pondering and speculation, it looks like this game is a search and rescue mission for lost tourists/scientists? There's a lore reason for why the asteroids hit the ships, so I'm guessing the big ship seen in the trailer got hit by an asteroid and the smaller ship is a search and rescue/repair ship.
