@@anthonycampos8057 I don't need to,First of he failed several drug tests,,About 20 yes ago, Think one was when he challenged for the Heavyweight Title. Gerald M,,Was a far better fighter ,Than Toney,And Benn defeated him,Buy his shere warrior instincts,And loves Fear. Benn sparred with Duran,Who said he would not like to face Benn.
@@paulbrophy9702drug tests? And you’re talking about benn vs mclellan? Benn was so juiced up and still got knocked out in the first 20 seconds. Toney would have sweeped benn.
And as soon as the show was over you can see how the switch was turned on in their body movement with the shaking of the hands and change in their eyes because they knew it was now time to fight. This was true boxing man.
Chris is the classic gentleman and boxer, Nigel is just a great fighter and gentlemen, and James Toney is just......JAMES LIGHTS OUT TONEY. I love boxing man. Especially around this time.
I also like how chris and benn conduct themselves with respect and as gentlemans but still got to love toney not only for his boxing skills but for the entertainemnt
@@truthmanifestingtruth He would have beaten them in a calculated performance over twelve rounds, using his excellent defence and shoulder roll,it would hardly be easy work though.
Thank you so much for making this programme. Absolutely brilliant start to finish. I can't believe Eubank was disliked back in the day, he's a true gentleman outside of the ring and a PURE WARRIOR inside. I just dont understand why he wasn't liked!
Many couldn’t appreciate his showman persona, perceiving it as pure arrogance. This rubbed people up the wrong way, especially given his roots growing up in places like Peckham, Hackney and then the Bronx in New York being starkly contrasted by his gentrified dialect and “upper class gentry” sense of fashion. Some felt he was pretending to be something he wasn’t. He argued “being working class is no excuse for not speaking properly”.
I thought it would be obvious why he wasn't liked. The British Public simply didn't have enough parliamentary procedure to see Eubanks true personality. Set of thugs. This is why I can't sleep at night...
Chris is classic , gentleman ,his behaviors is majestic i cannot stope watching him .May the yunas bless the3 ,Chris, Roy Jones, and James tony . They have a style. Love it.bless them amen
I like how Chris Eubanks & Nigel Benn shook hands at the end of the interview, that's what the sport is all about, RESPECT!, true, boxing is a violent sport & you're supposed to destroy your opponent, but that don't mean you have to hate your opponent, it's only a sport, recognizin' your opponent is still a man & keepin' the sport "honest", don't suckapunch your opponent behind his head, hit him wit low blows, or hit him when he's on his down to the mat, respect is da key!
The look on both their faces when Toney started giving it... Both of them proper riled!! Toney was a superb fighter... Such a shame neither of them got to fight him.
@Testify he really was but don’t mean wouldn’t b good fights.Eubanks chin bends raw determination I’m sure woulda kept them in the fight.pitty these fights never happened then
@@chiefbrodyrobertson2950 No mate, Watson was naturally a counter puncher and would've had to lead against Toney. Look at him v McCallum . . . . Anyway, I'm sorry but watson was not real worldlclass and you're saying he'd of beaten a hall of famer like Toney ?? That's ridiculous fella
People forget just how big this rivalry was. It was a national event. For Fury and Whyte, that is not any kind of rivalry. Benn v Eubank WAS one of the pinnacles of UK boxing build up and what an electric night that fight was.
Toney in those days took it seriously and was in condition and focused. He would have beaten Eubank on work rate, Benn had a punchers chance at best but I think Toney's superior boxing skills and defense would have brought him home at about the halfway stage a bit like the Benn WSatson Fight
Thanks for posting this.. At the time I was a massive Benn fan and wanted him to win, but since of got older ive also realised what a great man Chris Eubank is, a man of integrity, and truth. They were both fantastic warriors and a credit to Britain. James Toney was an exceptional fighter, but judging from this was a complete twat with no respect. Its nice that all the years after this that Chris and Nigel are now friends..
And today we can clearly understand both Chris and Nigel and not a word uttered from James Toney can we understand. This is why you don't talk bad about mother's.
@@ciaranfox2925 Toney would have lost to both , simple as, Toney was always full of mouth. He said he would fight both BUT yet ran away when the offers were on the table
Man, I wished these guys would have fought With James Toney, Julian Jackson and Roy Jones Jr. They would have been some historic fights. Anyone of these guys could beat each other. I couldn't say who's better. They're all some bad as fighters. Also Michael Watson and Gerald "GMan" M. Could of been in this circle if it wasn't for the tragedies. My favorite was the Gman. I believe he would of been the one to beat. His lose with Nigel Benn was do his brain blood clots. He demonstrated better boxing ability than Benn before he started showing symptoms of brain injuries. I'm not taking nothing against Benn he is a bad ass fighter. But Gman would of been the guy to beat. Just my opinion. They where all super stars.
They both look like they've been hypnotised. But it make them very interesting to watch. James Tony would of been a hand full for any of them. But Roy was still levels above.
Toney sounded punch drunk way before his boxing career was over - his potential fights with Eubank and Benn would have been too close to call. He may sound punchy but he had a very good ring IQ. However, one barometer may be to say a 40-year-old Michael McCallum held him to a draw - on the flip side Toney stopped Michael Nunn in 11 rounds; Nunn would have given both Benn and Eubank nightmares in the ring with his style, which was similar to Herol Graham who they avoided like the plague. Great lead-up to a decent fight. Thanks for uploading.
Love Eubank and Benn but James Tony is one of the best fighters I’ve seen.. especially at this stage when he was focused and hungry…. The bloke was an amazing fighter at a different level
Chris Eubank was massively peed off by that American boxers comments, I don't blame him I'd be also!!! I think he was very, very misunderstood, and at the end although reluctant they shook hands, like Norman Wisdom asked in faith.. Benn is a good guy too! I really feel for Euwbank and the passing of his son,ver
Believe it or not eubank burst into the seen with an American accent back then, Nigel was the darling in the media circle, that led to the beauty and the beast bout. Then Watson nonintensional tragedy followed eubank was never the same after that horror, sad to see James toney slewing his speech today.james toney was a hell of a fighter, only made a careless mistake with Roy Jones who walked on water in the ring 💍 . The engraved personality of eubank fits perfectly into who he was, GLADIATOR.
I love them both but Toney would've kicked both their asses, not in the same night maybe but for sure, 2 Ws for Toney. And Nigel looked like if he wanted to kill him when Toney was speaking jaja
they made them go on this lighthearted weird talk show right before they had to fight?? seems crazy talk about not being able to concentrate before a fight
