omg the Stingers were such shits but in such a dramatic and fun way. The Misfits (as much as I like them musically) were too annoying in the "spoiled child" sense. While the stingers where manipulative, deceiving... they had a smarter way to get what they wanted. they added a whole new level of drama to the series
Well The Misfits did get what real life was about but Stormer was the sweetest one. Given how the Holograms specially Aja treated poor Stormer. The Stingers went threw so much before becoming popular. Their songs are great. I'm not a Jem fan given Jem and Holograms all act too much like i'm above everyone else.
I don't know why, but I always liked Riot. I like how he had a really low cut shirt...and also my favorite episode was the one where Jem and Riot are stuck on an island together and he's in the leotard the whole time but I never understood why. It was the same strange feeling I got when I watched Samurai Jack and he ripped his shirt off all the ti-- Oh my God. I was a pervert, even as a child. No...not "was"...I...AM a pervert. O.O
The self discovery is cackling and out of breath XD but I was the same way and noticed I still am since I’ve been rewatching Samurai Jack and needing to watch the fifth season
Oh my god, Riot. He's a lot of what I hate in a character, but he has just enough of what I love in a character that I have to adore him. I also really like that nothing came from his redemption episode, that the 'best' of him is him at his 'Riot-est'. XD -And a side note, since a few people are commenting about him and Jem and how they should have gotten together… I agree. If the writers had more time, I think it would have gone in that direction, or at least it would have been more involved than one-sided. I mean the second-to-last episode was his redemption arc (and he and Jem became closer as a result)! That was important enough to the writers to include it before the series ended.
That always blew my mind, riot and Michelangelo were such drastically different characters and their voices sound completely different from one another. Townsend Coleman has amazing range.
@@ShadowSonic2 I can tell Townsend voiced Riot, but not by him talking like Michaelangelo. Michealangello talked as a wild out surfer dude whereas Riot is more lean back in his speaking. I do recall Townsend voiced another character on TMNT, The Ratking, and that's who Riot sounds like. That's how l know Riot is voiced by Townsend. Go back and watch a TMNT episode featuring the Ratking and hear him speak, and then hear Riot. Their voices are similar.
The one scene you forgot that I loved is when Riot said; "Jem I hope I havent kept you waiting!" And than Riot said; "Lindsey? Dont we make the perfect couple?"😂
Is it wrong that I like Riot better then Rio? I don't know I just feel that he would take learning the truth of Jem better then Rio. Around the end he changes, mostly after the episode with his mother.
Lol your not the only one. I think think Jem got more interesting when The Stingers came on and Jem was falling for Riot too. It's a shame we didn't get to see more of that.
But he didn't like Jerrica he tried to get her to hand over half of her company to him & she said no. Do you still think he's right for Jem? Riot loved himself he may have changed after meeting Jem & the situation with his mom but when it comes to power, fame, & money that tends to win out in the end. Riot's dad was an asshole though I'd hate to have a father like him.
It doesn't matter if he doesn't like Jerrica. If he kept having the kind of development he was having and gave up on Jem because he didn't want to hurt her and because he was a better person now because of her, then learning the truth would change everything. Rio's head would blow off and by the time he came back Jerrica would be with Riot. True Riot did and was all those things, but he isn't his Father. Riot doesn't want to be who his Father was. A man that drove his own son off because he didn't want the same life. Riot went through hell to be where he is now, did it go to his head, yes and a bad way, but meeting Jem starting breaking through that. He began to understand that he can be what he always wanted but a better person. Like Jem, who's beautiful but yet she isn't anything like him. He wants to be a better man for her. Thus learning the truth we would be the better choice. If things were different then Rio but for me I go Riot.
I do agree when I saw the episode when Riot went back to see his parents & right off the bat his old dad had his head buried in the newspaper talking about politics & all that kind of shit. His mom was thrilled to see her son but I lost a little respect for her when she didn't stand up to her husband most parents would be proud their kids making it big but Riot's dad was just stuck in his old ways. He was angry that his son didn't go the conservative route Riots' dad just didn't understand that you have to change with the times but I also think he was jealous that his son became rich & famous. I felt bad for Riot because his dad was just an asshole & a jerk & Riot didn't want to end up like his old man.
I feel like Rio was a great boyfriend before Jem came into the picture. I would have liked to see Jerrica and Rio try to work things out but I wouldn't carr if she ended up with either man or even just was single for a while. All directions would have been interesting to see.
At 3:02, I thought Riot was about to...do something else to Jerrica, lol. #HOT Also...OH CRAP SHE JUST INADVERTENTLY REVEALED HER IDENTITY AT 4:23! ("I miss my sister"...really Jem/Jerrica?)
Anyone could over look that because Jem very well could have a sister. The Holograms are her friends. What gets me upset is in Hollywood Jem part2 Kimber literally says to Sean that hes holding up her sister's movie career. KIMBER!
With the first scene shown here, I was expecting to see more of him calming people with the sound of his voice, like some mind control shit, but it never happened again the whole season. That would've been a funny trope to play off of.
I just realized something Jerrica/Jem is like Superman/Clark Kent only Jem has powers through her earrings my point when Jerrica told the hologram Rio who she was he got angry, felt betrayed & lead on by Jerrica. He couldn't accept that she & Jem were one in the same person but he could've he got 2 for the price of one. I mean when Jerrica asked Rio "Jem is really something isn't she?" Jerrica was curious about how Rio felt about her alter ego & Rio gets that dreamy look on his face & replies "Yeah she makes the air sizzle." Lois was curt & dismissve towards Clark because he was a goof ball but around Superman she was like a teenager with a serious crush because Superman carries himself with confidence. Eventually she learned who he was she was shocked but she eventually she accepted him for who he was & loved him even more. They worked well together as a team. Riot comes across as an arrogant, prick who wants power, money, fame & is attracted to Jem maybe because not only is she beautiful, but she is kind, caring & considerate of others & because she represents the glamorous woman he wants. He isn't crazy about Jerrica he tried to get Jerrica to give him half of her company Starlight Music because he really wanted to assert himself as the top dog. And when Jerrica said hell no he walked good riddance Starlight was her company not some British prick who thought he could have everything. IMO neither Rio or Riot are right for Jem I just wish they brought in another guy who could accept Jerrica/Jem for who she was. Riot & Rio would've wound up cheating on Jem.
Who does Jem really love is she in love with Rio or did she falling in love Riot. In Riot's hope Jem is being tease by Kimberly and she tells Jem to give Riot a kiss for her too. Jem leans on Rio and cries on his shoulder when BaNee is kidnap she kiss Riot on the cheek and Riot tells that he will want a real kiss from her later when she realize how truly wonderful he real is so I ask this question who does Jem really loves is it Rio or is it Riot write back if you know the answer to this question.
Going with the whole story line of the series of what we know, Jerrica has been in love with Rio for a while She had a crush on him since met him at 10 years old. She's in love with him. But as Jem, she's e periencing different things than she does as Jerrica. She's developing a different side of herself. Riot brings out the spontaneity in her. Plus, she likes the attention. Rio always seems to be torn between her two personalities whereas Riot was always consistent and clear about his infatuation with Jem. She's gotten to the point that she just wants to live Jem's life and do it for herself and not be Jerrica. She sometimes uses Jem to "escape" being Jerrica and Riot seems to both encourage that (unknowingly) and is one of the ultimate fantasies. Riot knows the Jem side. Rio knows both. But with Rio, she plays two roles in both identities. To Rio, Jem is both the star and a love interest that us never explicitly stated to be anything more than a sort of friends with benefits relationship. Jerrica is both Rio's long time girlfriend and now boss. She has more responsibilities now and doesnt really have time for the relationship but does basically everything in her power to not lose him. It's a selfish way of showing her love but she doesnt want to lose anyone else in her life. If she were to step back as both identities I wonder if Rio would notice how much it would hurt her or if he would continue to act like a child. In the first few episodes before he started kissing on jem, he was faithful and genuinely cared about Jerrica. He felt rejected be abuse Jerrica didnt have enough time for him. Basically she's in love with Rio, it would pain her to lose him but Riot helps her forget sometimes she can just be Jem with him and he encourages her to let her hair down. Shes caught up in pretty messed up situation.
This my version of old school Friday because Rio very overprotective of his friends. Can you blame Rio about not trusting Riot? There was something him that scared the crap 😱 out Rio!!
@@josephclegg3562 the rather focused in their Bands again and music rather than romance i mean the Misfits and stingers had better Songs anyway than jem and the hologramms
This wasn't drawn at anything more than 8 frames per second. Too bad they didn't put as much effort into the animation as they did into the story lines and music.
Alot of shows back in the day had adult writing styles some of the most famous shows had creative writing it wasn't dumb ed down to kids like now a days that's why some of the shows from back then hold up to this day to the kids who became adults. That's why most people who saw this show when their young are watching it now because it doesnt like you out grew the show. Heck you can watch these shows with your kids and not feel like your being talked to like a child.
i cant stand Riot he comes across he thinks hes Gods gift and at times i actually felt sorry for Pazazz i first thought he was gonna use her for her money bleed her dry take her wealth then kick her to the kerb
It's defiantly something I want to work on. I have plans on re-watching the show, and while watching I'm going to try and collect some good scenes. I already know some scenes from "Out of the past" will be in the video for sure. :)
Would love a best of Jem/Jerrica she kinda gets overlooked personality wise on her own show.....itd be fun to show the parts where she isnt just. Goody two shoes lol
Riot has his single earring in the incorrect ear for the 80s/90s. If he had one in each, that would work, but this is awkward because of the meaning..... A straight man wears a single earring in his left ear, not the right.
