I was about to go on a rant about this very topic. Are the editors, by using the writers material during the strike, subverting the strike by remixing old material into "newish", OR are the writers getting these profits to help support themselves during the strike?

Pretty sure the writers get a (very small) residual payment any time a piece they were credited on gets rebroadcast.

@@MariaVosa that probably depends if writers who appear on the air or on youtube are covered by SAG-AFTRA, as they are technically not writers in this context, but actors. And if they are, then that is the very thing the Unions are currently fighting about with the AMPTP.

Everyone else in the country has taken a pay cut through inflation. Unless this is a fight against that, it's literally pointless. With no cost of living raises or locked in prices, you will be back to this point in a few years. Kind of ready to jump ship and find another show to keep me entertained. Is higher pay and benefits better if they're all unemployed anyway? The only people this hurts are the ones who don't get to watch the show.
