A lot of youtubers start apologizing when their videos get "too long" even despite the almost unanimous feedback from their community that the outrageously long videos feel like early Christmas for us, so I'm very glad to see you being completely unapologetic about it. This channel deepened my understanding of the game by a lot, the videos are informative, relaxing and entertaining at the same time. Never stop being you, Colby!

I'm not a minmaxer at all when I make a character. In fact, I tend to make characters that are horrifically unoptimized because it suits their story. But I still love to watch these videos partially because it helps me know what's possible as a DM and partially because seeing someone stretch the rules to their limit is really interesting to me

My favorite part about your videos is actually the long rambling parts, because from an outside point of view it just looks like you're getting genuinely excited about the stuff you're talking about and going off-script on a tangent because you think it's cool. It's endearing and humanizing, makes it feel more like talking to a buddy than listening to some random guy talk about being OP. Keep doing you!

Honestly, your optimized build guides have been a godsend. I didn't grow up playing DnD. My only exposure, if you will, was BG:Dark Alliance. My character was a spellcaster running into combat with a staff. In my defense, I was young. Your guides really helped me understand how to build characters and what parts of the builds mean. You really made something overwhelming (for a newbie) so approachable. Thank you!

I love listening to Colby to sleep. I didn't know he sang until recently since I don't get to the end of the videos that much XD what a fun little surprise!

First off, your voice is delightful. And second, while you do take a while to get to the core of things you're the only creator where I don't skip the add read. You genuinely have interesting sponsors and they are never the same one week after week so I'm always curious. Plus, see my first point ;)

Honestly started watching with the BG3 stuff, but I've gone back and watched the DnD builds and its just been fun, even for someone who doesnt play table top at all really. Found your channel while hunting for build guides (currently working on making the fighter/sorlock build from your multi-class video) I love your energy and I love your attitude dude. I imagine the person who doesn't like D&D optimization clicking on an optimization build video so they can leave a comment saying how they don't think optimization is fun. And it makes me wonder if this is just who they are? Like maybe they make a habit of going into swimwear shops and declaring, "Stop selling swimwear, I don't like swimming!"

Hey, I for one am happy you did the BG3 “side content” this past year because that’s how I found your channel and became more familiar/interested in 5e in general. I still haven’t gotten a chance to play any of your DND builds since I’ve been DM’ing for my son and his group of friends, but I’ve at least learned enough to help them level their characters correctly.

I for one sometimes find myself in a “GIMME CONTENT FASTER” mood, and in those times I take advantage of Colby’s time stamps (thank you for that by the way) rather than resorting to #2’s thinking 🤣

When I first found your channel, I also had a problem with how long the videos ran since I was SO used to shorter form content. Now its the quality I most admire/like about the channel because you know... it puts the deep into the dive. I must have watched one of the 1-25 build videos where you even admitted you rambled out of context a bit too much... but yeah, I love the content, I am glad your channel kept getting recommended to me and I kept clicking. So far still my favorite build you've done is the "Three Bears" Build. I've listened to it start to finish about four or five times by now and I am probs going to go make it six after this video. Only channel I am a member of too by the way.

It's funny that these trolls highlighted many of the reasons I come back each week to watch your videos: your voice/singing outtakes, the detail and length of the videos, I also don't see why anyone would have such a problem with asking for support its not like you are screaming at the screen demanding it and if someone is that put off about it then why not just skip it or if you really don't wanna be here you don't have to be. Keep the singing outtakes coming I've discovered a few bands that I quite enjoy now thanks to the outtakes.

I had to stop this vid and then come back to it because this is how I found out anything was going on with JoCat. So that's a thing. Since I'm now on a love-and-appreciation kick I want to say that you've been a ton of fun to watch even though I'm still pretty new here and just kinda lurking. I struggle with too-many-options paralysis in games with nearly unending customization options, and baldur's gate is no exception. Since before it fully released, I've made over a dozen save files and have not yet finished act one. I'd get to one early major event and say "I wanna go back and start over, there's too much I want to change." Even after Withers got some functionality improvements and I found out about the mirror to change my appearance, if I didn't have the gold on-hand RIGHT THEN for a respec I'd still make a new character. There are so many dead timelines in my game, dude. You have no idea. But of the progress that I HAVE made in bg3, your build guides have literally been the sole reason for me having made it. Your stuff is awesome, all of it. I love your manner of speaking, your voice is awesome for it, and I'm especially fond of your use of chapters so if I need to go back and reference something I can get straight to it without jumping all around. You're fantastic! You're doing great work, Colby. Don't be too disheartened by some random trolls

Im not gonna lie, I normally dont watch the outtakes. I very often will return to your videos and look up specific builds or specific times of your videos that help me go back to find what a better spell would be to use or a good combat mechanic to do the most damage, get the right spell, etc. and then i close the video out. That being said, sometimes i rewatch the whole video to get myself in the mindset of playing an entire build or character, and then your outtakes come on. To me, it's a surprise every time because it's like a treat. It's similar to a musical number or one of those old pixar movie endings where you get a laugh from something that didn't need to be there but was. So please continue the outtake because it's not only a treat but a delight to not only have your videos be informative but also funny. Keep up the videos, Colby! Happy New Year. I am looking forward to new great builds.

1. Optimizing is what MAKES RPGs fun! 2. If you stop the singing outtakes I'm going to stop watching!! Okay, I won't stop watching, but I'll be a little sadder. 3. I listen to your builds during 10-hour night shifts in a metal shop. I can't skip the videos without risking a write-up for having my phone out, but I don't want to. The loooooooonger the content the better! If you made 3-hour long build videos I'd be overjoyed that I didn't need to find 8 other videos on my break to fill my playlist AND I know it would be 3 excellent hours of content. You're great!
