It's better to drain the oil while hot, helps thin the viscosity making it drain faster and more complete.

Beautiful lady. One tip, you can get some rubber gloves to keep your hands clean. Also when taking out the oil bolt keep pressure on it to keep the oil from coming out until you have unscrewed it all the way. This also helps you from getting oil all over your hand. Other than that, good job on dad teaching you this basic stuff which is very handy when you own any car.

The only difference between my oil changes and yours is that I use nitrile gloves and I have been a professional in the automotive industry for 36 years. Super job well done 👏

Rachel you're amazing.... You taught me some stuff and and I'm going to start using plastic wrapped around my hand and wrist.... And you knew how to put oil in the filter and put some fresh oil on that rubber seal..... Using cardboard to lay on is so good.... And making a funnel and using rags around the engine. And using the curb to elevate the vehicle.... And blocking the Wheels. I'm going to start doing all of that thank you so much I used to think I knew so much.... But you taught me some new things about changing oil thank you.

Just a little tip from a mechanic, when refilling your engine, tip the oil container with the handles at the bottom (underneath), and the hole at the top, thus allowing air to enter into the container while pouring.. this will allow a full, glug free pour. Great video! 🇬🇧❤️

I came across this( not literally!), googled this lady. Wow,she is such a high achieving young lady, so capable.My wife commented that she’s hot too, I didn’t notice.Just an observation,she fixes a lot of stuff so should wear suitable gloves and possibly overalls ( joking about the overalls).

Love your attitude, but if I could make one suggestion. Before draining the pan, you should remove the fill cap to avoid any vacuum in the system. The cameraman knows what they are doing, that's for sure! haha

Rather than using zip lock bags on your hands, buy a box of nitrile disposable gloves. Also never use a Fram oil filter unless you don’t want your engine to last. The best brand is Wix. Napa sells them. Most metal oil filters will have instructions on it telling you how tight to tighten it. It will say something like this. Tighten 3/4 turn after fully seated. That means spin it on until it stops, then turn an additional 3/4 turn. I like to put a small sharpie line on the filter so I know when 3/4 is up. Also I write the date and mileage on the filter bottom with a visible sharpie. You have the perfect top for doing an oil change.😊

Try using an ACDelco brand oil filter. ACDelco is OEM for GM vehicles, I always love using OEM parts for my cars, and steer clear from any FRAM filters. Its a crap filter that uses straight cardboard in their filters. ACdelco uses better quality materials for their filters

I always put in a bottle of engine oil flush into the oil, idle for 10 minutes then drop the oil it gets rid of the sludge and other muck in your engine before dropping the hot oil.
