We Wander to Mount Kapayas in Catmon North Cebu. The best peak in Cebu. We have been to a lot of peaks in Cebu Philippines, but Mount Kapayas is one of the tallest.
Mount Kapayas is actually the second tallest Peak in Cebu Philippines. Being Located in Catmon makes Mount Kapayas the tallest peak in North Cebu.

OMG I'm not good with heights and had butterflies watching you both on the rock edges with the massive drops. It was amazing to see the views from there and the drone footage was so so good. Your best video I think to date so well done. There is no way I could stomach it if I made it to the top so will be watching this again on my favorite list for sure. Hahaha you can always stick to the beachs and waterfalls! No one will force you to do peaks. But I do think facing fears head on is a really great habit to build.

Beautiful find. I'd say definitely worth the long hike. Your videos are always engrossing to me. Although I know I can re-play them anytime (I do), I hit pause when I'm, say, going to pour coffee or clean cat pee (we have 2 cats -- one likes to pee backwards perched on the litterbox facing in with her bottom sticking out) because I do not want to miss a single moment. I feel raw emotion like laughter and suspense -- even fright as with you and your brother and friend's kayaking to a non-kayakable island (believe me I had nightmares that night) -- when watching your vlogs. From your previous video we find "That's not English" very funny. My wife and I love your videos and are always looking forward to your next adventure.

We are but we are pretty far apart, Finn is also on this same island. Yeah the waterfalls Dustin went to are in Pinamungajan. We actually went to one but only filmed it a tiny bit, the other one we were planning to visit but were to tired after visiting Udlom Falls also in Pinamungajan. What did you do different with your drone? The drone shots look fantastic, do you have a nd filter on it? The ones where it followed you on the bike looked so good, was that active track or were you on the back of the bike controlling? Also a couple of them on the peak looked crazy cinematic. Did you change your frame rate on the drone? This makes me want to step up my drone game. But apart from all that really great job telling the story of your adventure, loving the new pace.

Hahaha glad you liked it. Tbh, I didnt change anything at all hahaha. No ND filter, no active track, I was on the back flying it myself. I think I just had perfect drone conditions tbh. I am happy you liked it though, cuz I just think the footage my drone captures looks horrible and so grainy no matter what setting I change.

Does anyone have any information on the route to get to the trailhead and the trail itself. I want to do this hike but I'm not so interested if I have to go with a guide or with a group. I've done lots of hiking and this doesn't look any harder than the stuff I've already done.

I think that road is going to Kalangahan, Tuburan if I'm not mistaken. You should climb also Licos Peak in Danao City, Mt. Mago in Carmen and Atabay Peak in Tuburan.

@@WeWander that part of the mountain and the mountains of Danao and Tuburan was once the hideout of NPA rebels during the 90's and early 2000 because it was so high and difficult to climb because there's no roads in that area before especially in the mountains of Tuburan. My uncle (RIP) and 3 of my friends/neighbors was stationed in the mountains of Tuburan in 2004 to reinforced the Phil Army. It takes them 4-5 hrs of walking down the mountains to reach the town proper to get their supplies and charge their cellphone and communication equipment. Cellphone signal also is very difficult in that mountains.

How much to pay for the 1. Permit to climb? 2. Guide?

This is an easy climb even for non-climbers so no permits needed. Also, the peak is just a short trek from the closest mountain road. Besides, this attraction is not yet an established tourist attraction so it doesn't attract loads of tourists yet so local officials don't collect fees and no guides supplied. You can virtually scale most of the mountains or peaks in Cebu without needing a permit or admission fee. The only peak or mountain peak attraction in Cebu that collects fees and issue guides is Osmena Peak and nearby peaks. The Kandungaw Peak and Casino Peak (both within the Badian Range where Osmena Peak is also found) don't even have admission fee as both peaks are harder to climb but nonetheless more spectacular than Osmena Peak. You can go up or climb at your own will (and risk if you will) but the view up the two peaks is heavenly and breathtaking.

Kapayas means "Papaya". It's a more modern name (papayas are from Mexico, not native to the Philippines). The old name is "Lantawan", literally "place to see from/viewpoint."

@Louise....I bet you didn't watch the whole video. They're not alone in the peak. There are few others and there was not enough room for 6 people on that craggy peak. A popular and easily accessible attraction would always draw a few groups of people. If it were smacked in the middle of nowhere or where access is difficult, I'm sure it wouldn't attract more than one person in a single day or maybe in a month or even a decade.

Huh? Where did you get that fake info? Cebu has long been free from NPA guerillas since early 1980s. There maybe NPA in Cebu but they're high-ranking officials who have businesses or white-collar job workers or students. The NPA guerillas or fighters are usually found in Mindanao, Luzon and less developed provinces.
