I spent the day with India's most honest rickshaw driver - Uday Bhai Jadav. He runs a 'pay from your heart' tourist rickshaw in Ahmedabad. There's no pressure to pay, you only pay if you feel like it! I wish more rickshaw drivers in India would follow his example.
We visited Adalaj Stepwell, Sabarmati river, Hutheesing Jain Temple, New Lucky Restaurant for Chai, Rani Rupavati's Mosque, Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, and ended with Lunch at his home with his family.

In my city, Maharashtra, Rikshaw Drivers charge extra and don't use meter. Government decided to make them use meters because they were looting citizens, like charging 50 rs where they should be charging by meter. When government created law in my city that meters are must, they closed their services for months. Citizens were frustrated because they could find the ride to go to their work. So government had to take back the law. And Now Rikshaw drivers charge 15rs per seat and 50-100 rs special according to the destination. Luckily, my family have a rikshaw driver friend who is good and kind. He has no bad habits and he is a dad who is raising his son and daughter without their mother for years. Really good man.

I finished the video and I realized by seeing what Karl is doing here; just how exhausting vlogging actually could be. Just talking to the camera constantly while talking about things and most of it probably doesn't make it to cut. My man Karl is enjoying what he is doing tho and he is also presenting it with great quality. I know I am late but good work man. You really do rock! Uday bhai is also really cool! This probably was the most wholesome video I've seen from India, after watching scammers, dirty food and overall bad news.. You wouldn't believe, but there's more light in India than dark and the scams are little specks of dark spots in the big light. The bad gets more attention and media coverage, hence making foreigners think it's a little light in the dark, but in fact it's the other way round.

The most rickshaw drivers I've met were wonderful people. Whenever they find out I'm from Germany they want to talk about football/soccer. i didnt even know Indian people care for football :D! I love how he individualized his rikshaw it actually looks comfortable compared to a lot of others because of the blankets on the seat. as allways lots of love from germany :)

Such a beautiful man, Uday Bhai. Pure heart and love. I dealt with many scammers and touts while visiting India five years ago, but was also fortunate to meet wonderful drivers who took care of me. One of them told me to call him Baba and took care of me while in Delhi. Pure heart as well. He'd tell me where to go, where not to go, and what to do to be safe as a woman traveling solo in India. I am Filipino but I have been fascinated with Indian culture... and food... for almost all of my life. I listen to Indian music and meditation music. Here in Metro Manila, as a doctor, I am in touch with a lot of Indians, Pakistanis and Bangla Desis, Hindus, Muslims and Jains and other spiritual groups. @@cap-uk8fd Actually Mikey Chen was on our local news for one of those scams. I think he was charged $50 for a short trip. Its just common here. For instance no taxi driver here uses the meter, they usually charge you on how desperate you are. I have rarely met a taxi driver who does. But its nice knowing that youtubers don't often sight it out. :)

Yeah i actually dont like it when they tell me to decide the price blind or ask me what way to take like im not the driver unless a passenger says it from the get go, shouldnt the driver be the one to know the best route to take... you are the experienced professional. If pressed they give you jacked up prices. Not all but we need to squash this behavior because it ruins it for the rest.

I moved to Ahmedabad 2 years ago. During my time here, I've met a lot of people and except for a handful, almost everyone I've met, including random strangers have been very kind and helpful. And even as a woman, I've never really felt unsafe. I think Gujarati people are really nice. :) In fact, I even married one. 🤭
