A lot of people ask me what camera equipment do I use, so, here it all is blog.karlrock.com/whats-in-my-youtube-filmmaking-bag/ Now, tell me about your setup... (PS. Yes, market series filmed before Lockdown)
Yooo. I filmed a video here to! I am yet to upload it yet, but it was such a cool experience. Lots of things for sale and a photographers dream place!!
Well they are looking at him like this because sellers at these markets also sell illegally imported products and are always in a danger of being exposed ..... Most of them won't allow to shoot on their shops because of this...... I think they were suspecting on him.
Man just watched three of your videos from the shopping range back to back. These are awesome. Didn’t know cameras were more expensive in India. Thought they’d be cheaper. Probably why so many Indians buy cameras from Dubai.
@@keepmymindpreoccupied2892 no it’s actually not. In New Zealand, “kiwi” is a respected and very well known term for New Zealanders . I am born and bred in New Zealand and every New Zealander has grown up with this term. I suppose if you live in another country your wouldn’t even know what it means.People in New Zealand are proud to be called Kiwis .
Hey Karl, I don’t live in India nor have I ever been but I still love all of your content. The videos you make really brighten my day. Love what you do man.
I love these market alleys in Delhi. You can find everything in there! My macbook crashed last year and the Apple guys were charging 50k rupees for that. Someone suggested Nehru market in Delhi, and got my laptop repaired for quarter of the price in a couple of hours 😃
I would recommend avoiding them, no matter how low they charge, unless you know the person. Because they will usually take away some working component and replace it with counterfeit one.
Very interesting. Reminds me of the local version we have here in Singapore, Sim Lim Square where the best bargains are on the higher floors. Of course, you have to know precisely what you need.
@@kebby8435 huh? He said "it's almost 1am here in California" Then like a hour and a half later you said "now its 2:30 am bro" So i said "that is how time works..."
@@CHEESER7 u really thing in a camera market they don't know vlog is... It's just race.... In a wheatish country u easily get attention if ur white or from black race .....
You should save 1 or 2k on it, if it's a GoPro. Call your local supplier and ask them to beat the Amazon price if they're not. Even my local market sells GoPro cheaper than online.
Karl I have been watching your videos for last few months It’s inspirational The way you have worked hard to learn Hindi and the way you have embraced India as your home You do make me home sick I follow India and it’s development 8000 miles from there and your videos are excellent Keep it up And show the world the true side of India not what western media most often show ( mostly the negative side ) Thank you
Oh! Finally! I've been waiting for a new video from you for so long! Living in NZ, and seeing you there makes me so jealous! Love and Peace to you Karl!
Just waiting for a million family :).Your one of the only RU-vidrs that I can watch in 30 mins than the American RU-vidrs which I only watch in 9 hours because they upload when we Indians Sleep.
Greetings from Boston...I usually have a very busy, productive and above all content life here in Boston and don't have much time for movies /you tube contents /social media but for some reason I make sure not to miss your postings. It is relaxing and enjoy a perspective of an Indian life from a "Kiwi-Indian". Further my comments are not done to be likable or popular or to get the most thumbs up but do so as constructive criticism + honesty. What is new here in US ?...most people in US, are unfortunately staying home, away from work under the pretext of COVID-19 and enjoying the very sweat unemployment benefits. No incentive to get back and become productive - it appears, this will soon be extended further by Congress - of course being paid by the few very hard working tax payers. Good Luck to the Super Power - this is just the beginning of our demise /self destructive behavior. Anyway, Happy and Safe Travels to You and Manisha.
Sony actually has some of the best image stabilization. Check out the Sony A7iii and even the A79. They are ridiculously expensive but worth the price.
I randomly started watching one of your videos yesterday - the one where the wife is calling for Vikas, Now today I stumble across the video where "Vikas" is found and I'm all for this kind of content! you just gained a new subscriber!!
Woahhh dude your editing is getting better day by day 🔥 And one more thing, start gymming bro as soon as this lockdown gets over because you are becoming skinny and weak day by day, this indian food is already bad for health , stay fir dude... you have to make millions of more videos to entertain us! Keep the same energy forever 😌
13:25 There are different vibes with these guys, they are more casual and don't seems to act like they want to cuddle with Karl like the first guy. LOL!
Could you please recommend some good Lego sellers. I know just Hamleys at Elante mall, Chandigarh. I live in sector 32, Chandigarh😑. You are one of the few people I can trust😂
@@ShineBeautySalon007 is this where the lady is selling the items back for money ? She follows into the market and stuff, asking for expensive rice, milk and something else ?
Amazing, India has opened up so much in the last 30 years, when I lived there in early 90s, there was one camera shop on Connaught Place, selling crappy instamatics, no SLRs, and maybe one in Palika Bazaar selling a few SLRs they had bought off tourists, me included!😂. The Rupee wasn’t really convertable outside of India and strict import policies. To import, which involved foreign currency, one had to deposit an equal sum in the Bank of India for one year. The only cars were Ambassadors and Marutis, so different now!
Great video Karl! From one audio engineer to another, if I may geek out quickly: I'm a huge fan of the new Rode NTG 5 shotgun mic. I travelled through India and Nepal with it last winter, and it is super light, small, robust, can handle a lot of humidity, and sounds awesome! It is mono though of course, so could perhaps be an alternative to your lavs for interviews, or for your voice overs as it blocks out so much non-directional sound. XLR output so not sure if compatible with your gear... Cheers, stay healthy and I can't wait for your next videos!
Such an underrated channel! You put a lot of work into your content compared to most RU-vidrs, you definitely need more subscribers! Lockdown here has eased, but I'm not allowed out of the house as I have serious health problems, so I am binge watching your videos 😂 even though I've seen literally all of them before. Keep up the great work Karl!
The store you showed with the certificates hanging is a real good shop, i personally have bought two DSLR's from that same shop and never had any issue.
Oh man, I miss chandani chowk, can't wait for the lockdown to fully end so I can get back there! I've been reading about some of the shops there where you can get analogue cameras and film lately, so I might go check that out and see what the deal is. Hopefully we can get several more visits to chandani chowk in before we move back to the US, cause I've only ever done one video for my channel from there 😂
Thank you for showing people India and Pakistan. These videos mean a lot to me. I'm from the U.S. and am very ill. I haven't got much time and am unable to travel to places I've always dreamed of seeing one being India. I love the culture and seeing a different way to live life. Plus every time I watch your videos I always want to have a tea afterward. Again thank you so much!
I am just looking at these videos... to remember what a fully crowded Delhi market used to look & feel & sound like... this whole pandemic thing for past god-knows how many months.. has made everything feel so whacked... I have almsot forgotten that Delhi vibe.. that Dehli Metro crowd rush... and I am looking at your vids for nostalgia
@15:25 It's really interesting how sensitive people are in India to being recorded, even in public places, and even when they aren't doing anything wrong.
@@KarlRock You have no idea what you have meant for my life, especially during this pandemic. I suffer with depression, and recently my career has been all but wiped away, as my clients have withheld purchasing payment and projects (i work in commercial design and design many Universities in California) . In the past few months i have probably lost a third of my years pay, and even more hope. To be completely honest Karl (in all seriousness), I cant begin to thank you for everything you do. Your videos give me a glimmer of light during a very dark time. I obviously comment a lot, literally on almost wvery video I watch/rewatch, but I havent told you how truly important your videos are to me. And while I know my above initial comment was a joke (the Vikas comment), I just wanted to give you a little honesty. Because without you Karl, I would be in a much darker place. Just wanted to say thank you. You give people and me a lot of happiness and hope. I am happy to be supporting you.
