That does look like a nice ride! SLO was the end of my short tour from the Bay Area this past summer. If I'd known about this road, i would have ridden it. The vista reminds me of a road in Mendocino County north of SF called Orr Springs Road, which was an old stagecoach road that takes you all the way to the ocean, too

If you are still in SLO and looking for a great ride, take Broad St./227 south to Orcutt Rd. (left on Orcutt). Stay on Orcutt until it dead ends at Lopez Dr. (right on Lopez). At about 2-1/2 miles Lopez becomes Huasna Rd. At that point, Huasna goes in two directions, either straight ahead or left. Go left. Stay on Huasna for about 6-1/2 miles, then turn right onto Huasna Townsite Rd., and take that until you get to the Triceratops (seriously). From downtown to the Triceratops and back is about 45-48 miles or so. I love the Perfumo Canyon/See Canyon ride, but I personally like Huasna better.

Yeah that's a solid climb up Prefumo! Partway down the See Canyon descent you probably flew by See Canyon Hard Cider company.... good stuff!

Hey guys! Great vids. My wife and I planning a 2 week California trip next winter- we’ve spent a lot of time in Ojai and loved it but looking for a new spot to try. Would you recommend SLO or Paso Robles for road/gravel? I don’t know much abt the weather in either place in Feb? Thanks much

How are you liking the flat pedals with running shoes?

Works surprisingly well! Actually found myself "clipping out" of the flats because they were so tacky. That said, you have to find the right shoe/pedal combination. Some shoes are too flexy and some pedals not big enough for good support.
