We can't because our corrupt educational system punishes people who stand up for themselves. The so-called zero tolerance policy hypocritically does nothing against the bully unless the victim fights back and then will proceed to punish the victim on either greater or equal levels as the bully. And if it's a black bully attacking the white kid, the bully gets let off the hook for bullshit political reasons. The school system makes up excuses for him.
I love the logic this movie has Frat guys are fucking with some guy and throwing shit at him because of the way he looks He shoots the cue ball onto their table and makes a mess and the frat guys are like "What the fuck!?" like they're the innocent ones.

It's so interesting how in one particular timeline, Evan finds himself on the other side of that table, siding with the frat preps, while on another he's best friends with Thumper. I think just about anyone can relate to this movie in that way - The people you chose to associate with, who you decided to keep in your social circle and how it affected your life.
When I 1st saw this I was hype up because me being a metal head and goth living in the project in new York City it took a few good fights for those knuckle- heads to understand just cuz we dress or look different don't make us soft .

you wanna talk about actors who have range, ethan suplee is one of them, he can go from playing a hardcore skinhead racist in american history x to the exact opposite in remember the titans & here plays that gothic kid who doesnt take crap from bullies, despite them possibly being stronger then he is. Glad he found his passion in health and fitness but before that tho he was a very underrated actor who owned his roles.

Fantastic scene, laughed so hard the first time I saw it. I'm a bit surprised they stuck with that bat breaking take though. The girls, especially the girl closest to Kutcher. are "taking cover" way too early for them not to know what was about to happen.
