Amazing job, I love oxtail, but the price is out of control, instead I buy a sirloin or loin steak, is almost the same price. Thank you for smoking, it takes time and lots of dedication.
I never braise my oxtails, because I don't like the wet process, it's kind of like boiling, I sweat them in large pans ,after smoking them a few hours, sweat a couple of hours.
Oxtails are part of our soul food culture, white man use to throw us all type of strap meats but my beautiful ancestors to what we had and turned it to pure delicasey, now the white man seen that and now look at the prices,😮????
I grew up on the northside of the tracks with all the people of color (mexicans, feather and dot indians, blacks) we made do with what we could afford. Beef tongue, oxtail, beef head were cheap meat, no white man threw us meat we bought what we could afford. Also we caught rabbit, crayfish, catfish, and when someone died we celebrated life by killing and deep pit barbecuing one or two ass.
@@waymondwade2511 It’s called the ole hickory pits ace mm. Sorry for the late response. I missed it. Search ole hickory to find the grill that best suites your needs. They are great smokers.
@@enyceofnyc Actually it’s better quality and freshness at the store I purchase them from compared to Wild Forks. Also, more constant sizes are available making the smoking process care free. Thanks for checking out the video!
I'll be at the Fort worth Eatz Food Festival on September 29th from 11am to 7:00pm. Do a quick search to get more details but it will be at "Dream Park." Hope to see you there. I will be serving oxtail and pulled pork sandwiches.
Man what kind of smoker model is that. Im in search of a good smoker. Need some advice. It looks like it can handle a good amount of smoked chicken wings & ribs.
@@raphaelroberson1129 Hey Ralph, The smoker is calling the Ole Hickory Pit’s Ace MM. I have a host of videos where I’m loading this baby up with ribs, chicken, even a whole hog. It’s a smoking machine that gives you some time back during the process. For reference, 16 slabs of ribs, 100 pieces of chicken, 12 briskets, and about the same for pork butts. Thanks for checking out this video. Hope this helps.
@@DskiGrillz Thanks for the outlook. Getting ready for my retirement. I'm looking for the last expenditures before the next adventure. This looks like it will serve for years to come & help me do the festivals / weekend events . Thanks a bunch for the perspective.
It very comparable with smoke and flavor with the main plus being "ease of use" having the ability to get things set up and not have to comeback for hours allows you to do other things if needed. The thermostat function and large fire box makes this achievable. Hope this helps
that many pounds of oxtail was excessive. Some viewers will be looking for a smaller amount of oxtails and looking for the best video to help them with cooking their smaller size portion.
This is for an event coming up this weekend for 300 people. The smaller portion video will come soon for those who need some assistance with deducting quantities for their needs. Thanks for checking out the video.
