I think including a small section of time devoted to ingredient substitutions is one of the humblest and most helpful things I have ever seen in a cooking video....and I have seen about a zillion (including most of yours 🙂). Thank you!! Keep up the great work, your videos and recipes rock.
Quick tip: if you forgot (or skipped) the cornstarch at the start and wish to thicken it, you just need to mix *a little cornstarch into some COLD water* (it doesn't really mix with hot), and pour that into the reduction - and *a little of it goes a long way.* Yes, you could always use flour instead, but flour means more cooking time (and a little different texture and flavor).
I love that you sometimes pause to elaborate on what you're doing with recipes like this, that it's not about the minutiae of the ingredients as much as it's simply combining available flavours and textures that you like into something you find delicious. I look forward to making this soon! I don't have an outdoor grill and often forget that I can make things like this on the stovetop during summer instead of using the oven. And when you spooned up that sauce at the end, I drooled haha 🤤
Wow this is a awesome Rib recipe and I love your ingredients you always have the best recipes I will definitely try this one out and it came out absolutely amazing and beautiful thank you for sharing this awesome rib recipe you have an amazing Day and a great weekend 😋👍🏽🍋🍋
Can I just tell you that I love that you "wash" your meat. Thank you for being here and giving these recipes. I use your pozole recipe multiple times a year! 😊
You are amazing! You show us how easy cooking can be. How we can substitute this for that, and how we probably have a lot of the things in our pantries. I'm a pretty fair cook, but I always seem to learn something new from you. Thank you so much! You're the best!
Mama! 😆 These look DIVINE! I cannot wait to make these JUST the way you did. I can’t get enough of an Asian flavor in some finger lickin good ribs. I hope I can find the chilis you used, but if all I sub out is crushed red pepper flakes, it’s still going to be a hit in my house. Thank you so much for sharing and keep the awesome recipes coming. It really helps to “see” a recipe prepared instead of always reading. I’m a visual person. 😘
That looks yum, and also thanks for sharing and explaining - I like that you take the time to explain the reasons behind why you add or omit and ingredient.
This is very similar to my recipe. I use both powdered and fresh onion and garlic though. Also I add honey instead of sugar because honey gives a nice gloss and may be some vinegar sometimes depending on my mood that day . Sprinkle with green onions . Hoisin sauce gives great flavor and color. Served with rice ! Yumm .. now I have to make this this weekend !
OMG, these look amazing and I am making ribs for supper. Just wanted to make sure that when making from the ingredient list make sure to add 1 liter(I used 4 cups) broth. I had an old recipe for Plum Ribs I lost many years ago, and this definitely reminded me of that favorite! I am so glad you shared this recipe it is just as incredible
Awesome recipe I will be trying it soon. I have spicy fig marmalade, I’m going to try that. Thank you for taking the time to give us your awesome recipe Ideas.
Man I have been a major fan for a good while now. Thank you for the vids. Especially the one about barbacoa how you talk about it coming from Matamoros meat market in Houston that where my amma would go when I was a kid sadly there’s only a couple are left. Those ribs looks beast mode I swear. When you browned them up reminds me of Tetris the game use every space wisely lol. Keep on Mama G

Thank you so much! I appreciate it.😊🙏🏼Yeah we always hit up Matamoros or Gerado's when I was growing up.
You are simply the best cooking channel out there, for me anyway.. Use what you got - cooking is easy with your attitude. Love your vids and please don't stop...
All the ribs are browned (all the ribs are browned) And the smell is great (and the smell is great)… And now that tune is stuck in my head while I watch these incredible ribs get made
These look deeeelicious!!! I have a question tho. I can't eat pork anymore. It makes my Rheumatoid Arthritis flare horribly.. but, I can eat beef ribs 😋 any recipes on beef ribs?
Chef Angelica.. AKA Chef Simply Mama.. Love this grazed rib dish.. The Rookie Chef here following you like always.. Love the way your dish came out.. Nice and calmly created.. Would love to highlight you Chef on my next highlight video of our RU-vid Chef family.. Much love and respect.. Keep up the good work! 💟
I started reading the recipe, I thought "oh god, tooooo many ingredients.." nope, had everyone of them in my cupboard from making some of her OTHER recipes! 😁😁😆
I made this for dinner tonite but used only 1 tsp gochugaru since my hubs doesn’t like spicy. Had all the other ingredients. Turned out great! Only downside was it really heated up the kitchen so it’ll prob be more of a fall or winter meal for me. Thanks for a great recipe.
I wish you would truly measure the oils/spices in recipes like this. I cook a LOT, but have never used these spices, or some of the other ingredients you use, so it's a bit intimidating when you say a teaspoon, but it looks more like a couple of tablespoons. I'd really appreciate it.
HELP MAMA.. WOULD YOU PUT BEEF IN VINEGAR AND WATER TOO. HOPEFULLY I WILL HEAR BACK ASAP SO I CAN MAKE TONIGHT OR TOMORROW DISH. BY THE WAY... GIRL, YOU'RE THE BOMB!! HEADS ABOVE ALL OTHERS. LOVE YOU ❤️
