The Velcro strap in the interior back is to hang a water blander from. The osprey has zipper covers which helps prevent water from going into the pack.

I would like to purchase the Osprey Nebula backpack. I am 5'2" in height and have a torso length of 15.5" to 16". My waist measures 31", and my hips measure 46". Would the Nebula backpack be suitable for me? One of the features I particularly appreciate about the Nebula is its padding below the laptop compartment. This padding makes a HUGEEE difference,especially that I carry a laptop which is 10x more expensive , in case I accidentally don't place it gently. Would love to hear your thoughts. Wanna buy it this week since it’s on 20% discount lol 😂

I think you would like it! I’m 5’1” and typically a size small in clothing and it was maybe just a tad big on me. The bag is made to sit higher on the back because of the chest clips which are really good. Yes, the buffer space at the bottom of the laptop compartment is key if you have an expensive computer! Just make sure it will fit. I want to say it holds up to a 17” laptop but check just in case. 20% off is a good deal! Wish I got mines during a sale.

I own both. You can go to an REI store and touch both. Buying direct from Osprey gets you more color choices. Had and old Osprey Parsec and the internal urethane water resistance coating flaked after 15 years. So, I didn't think any company had a real forever warranty. So, it was 2020 and REI had a HUGE sale to clear the warehouse during covid, and I bought a TNF Recon at giveaway price. Covid travel restriction were lifted an MJ and I were back on an airplane. Hated the Recon after 2 trips so I contacted Osprey for a return of my OLD Parsec and they were, ok. Got a new Parsec, hated it with the stiff internal frame which made it tough to kick under an airline seat or jamb in the overhead. Ended up spending more of my own money and got a Nebula and love it. The zipper overhangs protect from rain and make it a little difficult until you master the process. Osprey materials are better, more supple/flexible for air travel, and lighter.

Wow. Thanks for sharing your experience! This is my first Osprey so I don’t have anything else to compare it to but yes though it has structure it was really easy to slip under the airlines seat. It also stayed pretty clean throughout my trip granted I bought the black. My son spilled coffee on half my bag and it wiped clean, no smell, so I was pretty happy about that as well. 👍🏻
