Okay, I love this and I’ll have to try this recipe. I modeled my recipe after Jimmy John’s. So I use: cilantro, red onion, jalapeños, tomatoes, green and black olives, avocado, lemon or lime juice, and black pepper. I add Mayo, mustard, and dice a pickle up for my relish.
@@carolinems.2411 Depends on what I have on hand. I’ve used both. I honestly prefer the picked because of the tangy kick and it pairs well with the mustard. I love tangy and spicy.
Yes...eggs! I can't even eat and enjoy tuna salad without the eggs. It just adds an layer to the flavor that I can't do without. I didn't even realize tuna salad was so popular without eggs.
Excellent. This is exactly how I make my Tuna Salad , however, I toss in 2 Tbs. finely chopped green pepper. It adds another layer of flavor. What can be better.👍👍👍👍

This sounds really good. Got to try it. I usually make mine with diced Granny Smith apples added, along with mayo, a bit of mustard, sprinkle some Tex Joy steak seasoning, diced celery and dill pickle relish.
I’m always curious how others make tuna salad. I been making mine the same way for the past 40 years I use a couple of the tuna pouches in water I add chopped celery, onion, pickle relish, mayo, little mustard. S & P Toast some Italian bread add some lettuce and my tuna salad - Tastes good 👍

I grate everything! So easy ! Peel the outer layer of your celery first then chop, so you don’t have strings! Also use shallots or leeks instead of onions! Capers are awesome! If you find creme fraiche use it , much better than mayonnaise . Also cucumber is fabulous on top tuna salad! The best!
Your tuna salad was delicious! I will be enjoying this once or twice a week! I do a similar with hard boiled eggs and avocado. I topped it with very thin sliced tomato. Either way, Most Often I don’t have the bread. I place 2 scoops on a few crispy lettuce leaves and a side salad. Now I’m hungry!!!
I wondered who was buying Miracle Whip. To each there own... it's Duke's Mayonnaise no matter what for me. I think I'll try this recipe, it looks awesome
I love everything you add to tuna as Albacore is def the way to go and pretty much add the same ingredients as what you add to your egg salad but I just recently started adding chopped pickled jalapeno to my tuna and it was next level. Just love tuna and tuna melts. ❤
I like to put a cup of finely chopped apples in my tuna salad. Also a tablespoon of sugar and some finely chopped walnuts. I caught 55 lbs. of tuna while fishing off the North Carolina coast. After giving a bunch to anyone that would take it I still have plenty left in the freezer. I love it broiled in butter with onions and lemon.

Pretty much how I make it. No carrots though. I do add a little dill relish or a little chopped dill pickle with some brine. No salt needed. And just for my husband, sliced ripe olives. Very simple.
The tuna salad I developed over the years adds finely chopped celery, mayo, capers and horseradish. It's delicious. I'm going to try adding some grated carrot
Italian tuna in the jar with olive oil is the VERY BEST tuna you can buy and it makes excellent tuna salad. I either make old tradition tuna salad with celery, red onion only Hellmans mayo. Or……I’m Sicilian and I make Sicilian style tuna with white beans, celery, red onions or leeks, capers with olive oil and a nice squeeze of lemon or a s😢of vinegar! Delicious!

wow looks good. I just made tuna sandwich for dinner to night and i sliced, cucumbers, tomatoes and shredded lettuce on top of my sandwich. Man you can put what ever u like. But just trying slicing thin cucumbers on your sandwich. Biting into the cucumber on a tuna sandwich is so good. Yours sandwich looks great too Kellie. Have a bless day lady. never had tuna like that before but I would try it the way I do tuna salad is with eggs celery green onions and pickle relish and mayonnaise thanks for sharing
The albacore tuna is really tasty and the recipe is delicious , I tried without carrots and also not adding too much mayo is the key for a nice texture. Thank you so much for such a healthy recipe.😊
Sounds great! I'm going to try it today. However, i've never heard of carrots in tuna salad. The chopped dill pickles addition is genius. Growing up my mother always made the best tuna salad sandwiches but I never thought to get the recipe from her before she passed away. One addition she always added was a leaf of crispy icebetg lettuce the morning of when we'd take the sandwich to school, to keep it fresh. Yum! P.S. - making it all the night before allows all the flavors to meld together and the salt to seemingly disappear and not overpower the salad mix. P.P.S. - Capers? That's for tuna salad with a college education I would think. Sometimes kerping it all simple is the best. P.P.P.S. - Thanks!
here in the UK, Hadfields sandwiches are very popular. It's a big tea cake (bread bun) with butter, it's filled with tuna mayo, cucumber, lettuce, white onion rings, tomatoes, sliced eggs, sliced pickled beets, salad cream drizzled on top. Walkers cheese and onion crisps (potato chips) stuffed into the sandwich tastes amazing too
I make my tuna like yours except, no parsley and I add dill relish, pinch of sugar and chopped red pepper. I have to try the parsley. The capers are a great idea too! When I make salmon salad, I use mayo, onions, dill, capers, lemon, salt and pepper.
I put celery, diced dill pickle, diced hard boiled egg, mayo a very tiny squirt of yellow mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper in my tuna salad sandwiches. I also have tomato lettuce and provolone on my tuna sandwich 🥪 Now I want tuna sandwich

For me, tuna salad has to be made with Hellman’s Mayo (it’s called Best in certain parts of the country). I like the idea of adding finely chopped vegetables.
The lemon juice is magic! I'm Indian so had to spike this up with a pinch of sugar, touch of red pepper powder, fresh cracked black pepper, and a little mustard

The tuna has a dry consistency I would more Mayo for flavor! also you can make an Italian tuna salad with good olive oil and imported vinegar in place of Mayo delicious with crushed fresh tomatoes parsley onions and finely chopped red and green peppers and chopped calamari olives scrumptious!!
You can certainly add more mayo but instead of doing that right off the bat.....why not try the recipe as written. I ensure you it's anything but dry. And I DO have an Italian tuna salad on my website that sounds almost identical to the one you're describing. For that one I use a higher quality tuna that's packed in oil because the flavor isn't masked by the mayonnaise.
Yep, I actually incorporate the chopped apple into the salad. I use half miracle whip and half mayo with sweet pickle relish and chopped boiled eggs too. What I am gonna try from this recipe is the lemon zest and juice.
I’m no..you didn’t add mustard or sweet relish and you used mayonnaise instead of miracle whip..Mayo is for sandwiches and miracle whip is for Salads tuna salad otherwise yes I add the other stuff
