Nice and concise!👍.. Thanks for the video mate. I'm surprised at how many of those credit cards I actually own. Have a built a collection of reward and travel cards. Credit cards have a come along way in the 21 years I've been using them. Alot more competition and perks now. Irnoically I'm using the Chase debit card the most right now. 😄

Haha you must be doing something right if you have a lot of the best ones available. Most people are scared of credit cards or think they are a bad thing, but like you say there are so many rewards and perks if you manage then right. I don't think people are realising how good the chase debit card is, for a free card aswell. I'll be doing a video on it next week. Thanks again for checking out the video..What is your name? I always see you commenting, and I really appreciate it! 🙏

@@PeterWilhelm I've just been around along time.... 😂 Picked up a few along the way.. I never used to use debit cards, but I think Chase have been very smart. That 1% incentive they offer will entice people to use the card and thus allow them to get lots spending data for future expansion plans. Most people i know only use debit cards and I like you say, are scared of CC's as they don't really understand them.... They just see 29.9% APR and freak out. 😆 Good job we have channels like yours to educate people. Cheers 👍

Thanks for all these great videos. We are planning a trip abroad...probably next year. Have you heard of the Halifax Clarity Card? Just wondering if this is a good travel option? ATB Paul

Hi Paul, I’m glad you like the videos, thanks for taking the time to check them out, I really appreciate it! Yes I have heard of the Halifax Clarity Mastercard, I was going to include it in this video but I had to cut some of them out as the video was getting a bit too long 🤦🏾 In my opinion it is a very good card and a great option. The reason I put the Barclaycard Rewards ahead of it is because the Halifax Clarity charge you interest on cash withdrawals which is charged daily until you pay it off. That is the only downside, but if you don’t plan to use it to withdraw cash while abroad then I’d say go for it! After almost 2 years stuck at home with these travel restrictions I think we are all due a nice holiday! 😂 I hope you have a great time whenever it is you go. Final point, If you are planning on going next year (2023) you could hold off getting the credit card as there might be better options available closer to the time you go. Maybe even look at getting a rewards credit card in the mean time to build up some travel points or air miles that you could put towards the holiday? Take care mate 👍🏾

@@PeterWilhelm Thank you so much the detailed reply. Depending on the "Covid situation" the trip might be the end of this year. Planning on going to India and in the meantime we have been using the Amex British Airways card to stock up on Avios points and we are on target for the "two for one" voucher. The Halifax Card would only be for spend abroad and not for cash withdrawals...the plan for cash would be Revolut/Caxton or Starling?? Thanks again for the reply. Paul

@@PaulCarol That all sounds great, you are doing/planning everything correctly in my opinion! 👍🏾 India looks like a fascinating place to travel! I just watched some of your videos around Scotland…how about some travelling around India videos when you go? Would love to watch them. Hi Peter. I love your channel. I think you are great. Do you recommend the Aqua credit card for credit building ? Do you recommend them in 2022 ?
@PeterWilhelm
@PeterWilhelm 2 года назад
Hi Tamas, so sorry for the late reply. Thank you for the kind comments. In terms of credit building credit cards I think any of the ones in the video are good. Don't get me wrong, they aren't the best credit cards overall, but that isn't their job, their job is to just give you a line of credit with no thrills that if you manage properly can help build you credit score. If you are at the credit building stage, I don't think it is so much about which one is best, but which one you will get approved for. Make sure to use the eligibility checker on their websites before applying and apply for the one most likely to accept you, and then manage the card properly. Before you know it you will improve your credit score and be moving onto the better rewards credit cards.

Can I use credit card to pay bills (set up direct debit)?
@PeterWilhelm
@PeterWilhelm 2 года назад
Hi Jin Liu, sorry for the late reply. You can not set up direct debits from a credit card. If you want to set up regular payments from your credit card, you can arrange a continuous payment authority (CPA), also known as a recurring payment. When you do this, you’re giving a company authorisation to take money from your card. Some of the main differences between CPAs and direct debits are: control - direct debits give you more control over your money. With a direct debit, only you can make amendments to it. A company can change a CPA whenever, without you realising. protection - CPAs don’t have the same protection that direct debits do. If a payment’s taken from your credit card in error or fraudulently, you’d have to contact the company and rely on them returning the payment. cancellation - terminating a direct debit is as easy as contacting your bank or via your online through your banking app. To cancel a CPA, you'd need to contact the company you signed up with. So in my opinion, this isn’t a good idea. I would look at the Santander 123 Lite bank account for paying bills and earning some cash back rewards. if you are looking to pay your bills on a credit card because you dont have the money, this again will cause more problems for you that it is worth as you will fall deeper into debt. if this is the case you may need to look at ways to reduce your outgoings, ways you can increase your income or add revenue streams and also contact the utility companies to tell them you are facing financial difficulty and seeing if they can help. I hope this helps,

Bro it said I was 0% eligible to get a Tesco credit card n I’m making well over the £5000 can u help
@PeterWilhelm
@PeterWilhelm 2 года назад
If you are getting 0% that would suggest either a mistake in your details that you are entering Or something on your credit report that has a really big negative impact, something like a lot of recent missed payments, or maybe things like defaults, and ccjs. If you aren’t sure about this you should check your credit report. Experian usually have a free trial, or I find clear score to be really good and it is completely free. Once you see what your credit report is saying I have videos on how to improve your credit score with tips that you may need to do before trying for a credit card. But yeah, I would say start with getting your credit report, that should give you an idea of what is going on
