Good info. I'm a long term Harmony user, but I've just recently setup a new system w/ an LG C8, Apple TV 4K and Yamaha receiver. To my surprise the LG remote controls everything perfectly. I have the Apple TV 4K connected directly to the LG C8 and the LG C8 connected to the Yamaha via ARC. In the past I would have connected the Apple TV 4K to the receiver, but this is working out well. Clean an simple.

Great video and example of how CEC works. One quick tip, which i'm sure you'll appreciate as an Nvidia shield owner, is that instead of going into the menu and putting the shield to sleep to get everything else to turn off, you can press the back button and home button at the same time and it will immediately put the shield to sleep. Discovered this by accident one day lol. Keep the great videos coming!

I plugged my old Polk sound bar into my new Q6 and it recognized it. Pointed it to Optical Output. Couldn't believe it, no HDMI cable to it, it doesn't have it. CEC was set to AUTO from the factory. Great tech these days.

Hi there, I have 2 Samsung TVs, one is 60" and one is 55". they have the same remote control including Samsung BN5901274A. The issue is both TVs are side by side one connecting to PS4 for gaming and the 55" connected to Nvidia Shields when I turn the sound on the 55" it turns the 60" up, is there a way of stopping this? Hello, I have the Samsung remote & I have Fios. I can get to the guide & do the channels. Do you know how to get to the dvr from the Samsung remote? I can do almost everything except figure out how to get to drv menu from the Samsung remote. So far I have to switch back to the cable remote to access the DVR.

I have all Samsung components in my bedroom with the same remote you have, and my biggest complaints are 1st, the remote is not backlit and 2nd, there are not enough buttons on it to be efficient. I have to go through about 17 screens just to set the sleep timer. Do you happen to know if they make a universal remote that does all the stuff you are able to do in this video, plus has individual buttons for everything - numbers, sleep, microphone Netflix, etc.? Have you done a video on that? Also, my biggest complaint with the Logitech remotes is the remotes themselves turn on and off. This means if you have 2 remotes - a Samsung TV remote and a Harmony remote - and you turn the system on with the Samsung remote, the Harmony remote will not work until you hit the power button on the Harmony remote. This can cause problems with the other remote or the system itself. So I want a remote that doesn't turn off - like the comcast cable box ones. Do you know if anything like that exists? Do you have a recommendation? Thanks for all of your help!

Very true. I only recently realized that my Sony TV remote works perfectly well to control my Apple TV. No setup at all. And it also controls my cable box just fine - with a little setup.

What are you using for voice with multiple harmony hubs for control? Yonomi? Smartthings?

Arc on Samsung does not play well with my Onkyo receiver's arc , We even had someone come to the house to set it up again because we thought we were doing something wrong and he could not get it working correctly either , We ended up going with a Logitech Harmony Companion remote to control our TV , BR, Cable box , Roku , Sonos , Onkyo receiver ect , And we use Google assistant to control it.

Is watching that tv from that high comfortable? I notice your standing and still have to tilt your head up to see.

My soundbar doesn't have HDMI, only digital, analog, bluetooth, and a USB port for probably playing mp3s off a flash drive.
