I mean booty did eat chalk and enjoy it so... But for real, I think Wubby is probably a decent cook, but with stuff he knows and can add to, ya know? But trying to make something in a short time with ingredients you don't want to use? Or like for the burger cook off, he didn't know how to make onion rings from scratch so they were awful. I imagine if he had as much time as he needed, and a recipe/instructions, he could probably do it after a couple of tries.
