I had a 25-ought 6 Ruger Mark II m77 26-in stainless barrel target rifle factory, shooting 85 grain ballistic tips at 3,600 ft per second. Wish I would never have gotten rid of that gun. But you know the old saying sometimes you have to to get something new or because you needed money!!!
My all time favorite is the 22-250. Its the cartridge I’ve used for around 30 years give or take. It’s a coyote catching machine. I’ve used all of those choices and they all are very good. Good luck and happy hunting 👍
My preferred choice is definitely not listed witch would definitely be the 220swift for sure!! But with the one you have listed I’d definitely go with the 22-250 for sure!! Nice choice though!!!
Always wanted to sit on a prairedog town and go to town! MSR in 223 is ubiquitous, ammo everywhere, accuracy stellar. Unfortunately for me, no such creatures in Alaska... 😮💨
the 223 is not bad, the gun is lightweight and light recoiling, accurate out to 200 yards, but if your prey is more than 250 yards away... I'd use the 22-250.
@@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009 yes sir. I guess there’s several good reasons but I grew up with a.243 deer hunting and the 22-250 kept everything out of the garden of a family farm and it was some of the best times of my life !
Shorts are limited to under 60 seconds. I had to edit out the 25-06 w/100gn @ 3,325fps. So I went from heaviest varmint bullet to lightest, that I shoot. But here you go. .243, 80 gn 3,270fps, .223 rem. - 55gn 3,310fps - 60 gn. 3,180fps. 22-250 Rem. - 55gn 3,650fps.
@@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009 I've never owned one. But everyone that I know who has, has had to send it back in for warranty work due to consistent accuracy. Of the returned ones after warranty barrel replacement, they take about 80-100 rounds to start to break in. I just avoid them at all costs.
Allot of folks like the versatility and inherent accuracy of the 6.5 creedmoor and it's high BC variants, including me, as it is capable clear out to 700 yards. None of the others mentioned here can do that.
