I have two pairs one knit upper and Gore Tex. Use them for outdoor, some short distance running, life style/casual use, Work Shoe for raining and muddy days. It’s an all around good shoe 👍🏼
Bro can u give an update, do they strech out/breaking in after use? I have to sizes, smaller one feels better to walk in but might get uncomftable when walking longer distances because they fit barely.
Just gotta say, I really appreciate your laid back, honest review style. There is a clear attention to detail, but without making it over polished and sterile feeling. Keep it up. Just subscribed.
Started hiking more after my first pair of Free Hiker because it is just SOOOO Light, and super comfortable on both the top and bottom while hiking for a pair of hiking boots. I ignored it for a year thinking it's an over priced pair of hiking version of SUPER NOVA boost running shoes until I tried it few years ago during Christmas sale and was hooked since the Free Hiker model is most stable and comfortable pair of shoes I now own!
Hi. I am a postal worker and I bought like 3 pairs. I must say they are comfortable and nice to wear but they don’t last long cause I do a lot of walking. About 12 miles a day because of my route. So the drawback is the bottom is the first to wear then the inner sole but I wouldn’t mind finding a pear that last a little longer than 6 months.
Rocking these shoes for two month now. One of the best shoe I had and I had alot of hiking shoes. Never looking back to those "specialized" shops fot hiking and traveling. One thing though, if you like stability in your shoe, think twice. Its not most stable shoe, really soft but works for me.
3:55 - don't put these in the washer, it takes days to air dry out. I even wear these in summer when it rains. I wear them all winter for 10-12 hours a day till this day. Got them November 2020. I'll be getting the all black lace ones this year. I've put these in the washer, still waterproof. It just takes days to air dry.
I am a size 11.5 and they fit snug. If you wear medium to thick socks you may need to size 1/2 size up. They grab the back of your heel nice for a snug hug almost which is unique and I don’t experience on many other shoes. Took some getting used to but I kind of like it for support. And yes wish it had a front pull tab
Copped a pair in the Olive and black colourway. Originally went TTS but exchanged for half size up and it fits great. I love these boots and can't wait to use them for the winter.
Love the look of these and was about to get a pair, then realised they're not gaiter compatible, which is kinda crazy for a winter hiking boot, especially here in the UK, I need to be able to wade through shallow mountain streams in them and they too low for that without gaiters, a bit gutted as I really do love the look of them, they could just add a little tab to clip gaiters onto at the front, great review!
I just scored the new version of these for work (at a fish market) where full size Rubber Grundens are the go-to since everyone's getting literally hosed on all day, they did hold up and kept my feet dry, but I do need to add some DWR Spray under the zipper/tongue part of the shoe where the water seemed to soak in finally, my feet did stay dry though, over-all for the paces I put through them I'd give them 👍 especially the light weight and comfort vs. A full heavy Rubber Boot.
Thank you for making this video so I can have better understanding of it's features before placing my order. Amounts my 30+ pairs of different Adidas boost shoes/boots the Free Hiker model is THE most versatile, functional, stable and comfortable shoes/boots for my wider & flatter feet. I Love the waterproof Free Hiker GTX (Gore-Tex) for hiking and walking the dog into wet/muddy areas that other dog owners would avoid so I can unleash the dog to burn out its steam of the day; however, in the cold winter season it's just too cold even with Merino insoles and Merino socks (Rule#1 in cold: NEVER WARE COTTON SOCKS!! since the saying "COTTON KILLS" is not a myth!!). The TERREX Pathmaker Climawarm Boots is stylish and very warm; however, it is a narrower fit even with one full size up. It is much heaver with a very stiff ankle support and MUCH harder outsole that the boost is often not notifiable unless I use the Hefeluxx E-TPU (boot) insoles. I received the Free Hiker Cold RDY sneaker boots in the Pharrell Williams Triple black version almost a week ago and loving it. I LOVE the zipper since I don't have to install the elastic No Tie shoes laces on them as on my other shoes. I bought this pair with 1/2 size larger in order to install the Hefeluxx OG comfort insoles (works best over all other versions of Hefeluxx insoles on my Free Hikers) and the comfort and stability is equal to all the other pairs of Free Hiker/ Free Hiker GTX I have. Without the Hefeluxx insoles I would go true to size like my OG Free Hiker with excellent fit; however, the Hefeluxx insoles just adds extra "Boost" feel especially when hiking all day up and down on rocky mountain pathways. Thanks you so much again for making this video.
I love the Terrex hikers, I made a video on those too . One of my favorite hiking shoes. Those winter RDYs look great, the collar reminds me of those Jordan 28s
I just need a shoe for normal wear wheb it's raining outside as my normal shoes tend to get wet inside as they absorb water. Will this ensure I have dry feet when it rains outside?
@@HerschelVjepxa yep, that's actually why i bought them - but there's a few caveats. Ex: i didn't realize at first that the waterproofing from the Gortex diminishes over time. Depending on how often you wear it/how much you expose it to, people say you may need to give it a few fresh coats of waterproofing spray every 6 months. I've had mine for years and haven't sprayed mine and my feet stay dry but... i havent exactly jumped into 3ft puddles either lol. Also, even though GTX makes it less breathable, it's still primeknit, so in cold weather it may be chillier than thicker shoes/boots. That said, I've worn mine in snow several times and I've been fine 🤷🏾♂️. Hope that helps
For those who haven't watched the video yet, it could probably be 2mins long if you take out the reshoven8r advertising. :) Oh and it's the first thing put in the description, shock.
These reminds me of the Air Jordan XX8 with the shroud. That was a solid performer. Also got wide feet. Did you go TTS or you think you could go half size down?
Would the cold rdy pair be too hot for spring & summer hiking? I’d like something for all seasons but feel like maybe the regular free hiker may be for suitable for hot weather.
Just got these babies in 3 months early for *Winter* 2021. Buy at *least* a half size up if you got *wider* feet because they're snug and takes a bit of an effort squeezing into. Literally feels thick like sealskin material. Squeaky as hell! 🥾
Been looking to cop these for some months now. They always sold out but finally ordered them yesterday. They look great both in design and materials. As for the fit, Adidas don't mess around on that front either.💯
I need your help... I work in my office 40 hrs a week. But in the evenings I work on my ranch. I hate to change shoes. I need a comfortable shoes, that will be water resistant. Weeds like foxtail stick in my shoes and I hate removing them. My feet also get hot in summers. I can't find a pair that will function on a ranch and still look good for office environment, and are comfortable, water resistant, soft, cushy... is there a shoe that comes close to these requirements?
The black/red/grey pair was not comfortable at all for me. Was disappointed. But these look REALLY good. I need to get a pair of those winter ready shoes.
Its About 20F here in Germany and i just ordered them so ill test them and if i wont forget send you the answer about temperature and so on😉 if i forget just remember me haha
Hi! I forgot to answer like i expected haha😂 definetly amazing! Teated them at -15 degrees in a river and snow for 2h. Never expect that they fit so well without shoelaces. Lets see how they will be over time😎💯
Dude 4+ minutes of just ads/intro. That’s completely unacceptable. You’re my favorite sneaker RU-vidr and a legend, but I just had to call you out on that, cmon dude.
Suggestion : zoom in more on the shoes as you explain away and show the features. All I see in the frame is mainly your shoe collection in the background, and then you in the center, and lastly your hands shaking something black.
I've not seen these before as I'm not much of a sneaker connoisseur. I have a pair of terrex swift gtx mid boots which are a great but the sole is so stiff its almost like old school military boots, I find them to be uncomfortable after a couple of hours in them. These look much more appealing. I just hope the adhesives they use are better than what they used on the cloud foam series. Both pairs of cloud foams I had ended up with the front end of the sole parting away.
TTS okay for these? I have the Kasina x Terrex Free Hiker and TTS fits okay for me on those, but with this Cold RDY pair being laceless I worry I may need to go half size down
I just copped these last week and took a chance on a size 10 since they ran out of 10.5, usually wear 10.5 (wide feet) ...thankfully they fit just fine, plenty of toe space to wiggle around. I also have the ACG Antarktik and these are much easier to get in to. Yeah, $250 is a bit much though...should have been priced around the Antarktik or less.
this is what ultra boost fans wanted in 2016. 3M would be nice. waterproof shoes loose this function after a month of heavy use. After that I need to spray the repellent spray every 2nd day after cleaning. Why is gore tex so popular. The membrane mooves with friction and then waterdrops get through where only water is supposed to go.
Having the same issue was hoping it would work with heavy water use and they did not, but they are still a very comfortable shoe, I am able to use standing all day and feel comfortable . Will have to use a waterproof spray. I hope it works cause I love the comfort.
I wouldn't bother. I have a pair and have walked a great distance when bad weather came in: The goretex is genuinely waterproof, they also have great grip. However, the toe box is really badly shaped and gave me sore toes. Plus they are freezing cold. Goretex isnt that breathable (that's all BS) so whilst it keeps rain out, it can cause your feet to sweat like crazy. They seem to have gone as far as possible to ventilate them which means they are colder than a pair of cheap runners. Overall they're a decent looking boot, but absolutely crap for hiking.
Adidas Terrex ; totally agree 8.43 point about folding down (or cutting off) the ankle tight bit; more comfortable. Also wish they were'nt made in China.
I've always loved the Terrex Free Hiker. The mainly black CW with a hit of green is hard to find in my size now. They were sitting for like a year straight. Should've copped at the Portland Employee Store when I had the chance 😭
The Free Hiker is much more comfortable for wider/flatter feet as well as it is much lighter and not as stiff on the ankle area. The Boost is well felt on all Free Hiker models but not the Pathmaker CW.
Looks like a semi serious hiking boot. The height is to keep gravel, sand and dry grass sticks/seeds from entering inside the boot. I myself wear mcrae 8" desert boots. The higher tops have saved from serious ankle injuries.
The black and orange are 🔥 but I don't wanna spend $200+ on a boot I copped the NOT cold rdy ones at the outlet for around $80 really good boots wore them around 32F walking with bigger socks I was totally fine.
