After a year of producing, I find myself here too. I’m really struggling to come up with an idea for a song. So I decided to change this. My first attempt was to take a two week break but it was not very helpful cause after this two week I finished 2 song (hardly), but now I still can't do anything.It's really frustrating cause it's feels like I was better at the start then now. So I looked it up a bit and found this video, tried this technique and I was finally able to do something again not just a short loop. So...Thank you very much!! This technique finally helped me to beat writers block (I hope forever) :DD

Really an interesting point of view, my only doubt is: you have to be careful not to dwell for too long on the loop of the 8 bars to seek perfection, I think you need to create a good compromise to be able to move forward.

You can get lost in the 16 bars but that’s the fun part about it, is how far can you take your pallet of sound. Basically creating a wall of colours and than using those colours to paint a picture. Most definitely need to know the limit and eventually that limit will come to haunt due to the nature of too many colours. Than you will expand even more.

Also I want to add: play with cutoffs, you get inspired for an intro, a break cause guess what, in order to make a full track you will have to use automations and do you know how fucking annoying that is, let me tell you its really not fun
