No sane person would, but you have no clue how stupid people can be. The more famous a fighter gets, the more likely some idiot is going to try to test them. Check out on Bas Rutten's street/bar altercation stories.

@@kasteraiph It's because mostly those people have never trained in any combat sport and thus have no clue what kind of difference training makes. They just watch the UFC where, due to match-making, fighters don't look that strong because they are matched with an equally strong opponent. So those stupid average Joes think they can go up against the fighters. It's beyond stupid, and if you asked them whether a random person could compete with them in their field of job, whichever that may be, without any training, they would tell you, rightfully, "Hell no!", but somehow they don't understand that a professional fighter's job is to train and fight.

@ChrisPBacon1434
@ChrisPBacon1434 Год назад
depending on your guard you can also block with your elbows and if they are too much and you can't block them fast enough, if you try to move your forehead and elbows into their fists, that will do more damage to them than you. And palm strike are good as well. If you really want to avoid punches at all you can also just get in close and grapple and hit them with elbows and knees because they do a lot more damage if done right.

I totally agree with everything you said the technique and everything it definitely works if you do it right so and at the same time people have to practice and trained because In the Heat of the Moment it doesn't really matter what kind of fighting you're doing if it's bare-knuckle or boxing but if it if it's real you don't like a real Attack it's going to be scary to defend yourself to receive the attack and to give it attack cuz like you said any little mistake could cost so yeah fighting is scary so avoid it if you can but if not I would definitely follow the steps that you provided

In my utmost humble opinion. I know this sounds laughable, believe me I do, but many south East Asian systems paired with the appropriately applied training methods that Mr valtellini depicts in the above video, are all techniques that are found within the curriculum of many of these traditional systems. As he demonstrates here, we can see perfect utilization of the bare knuckle Pak Sau( straight punches parry) Biu Sau( long guard style to deflect and intercept/ continue into tie ups) which were we can find collar/ bicep tie ups, known as Fuk/Lok Sau, and from there one can transition into the dirty boxing range, for the street, preferably Lethwei style frames( As the elbows/ knees and headbutts becomes an deadly trifecta of tools at one’s disposal if necessary) From there add in some standing judo sweeps and throws( Osoto Gari/ Osoto Otoshi/ Ogoshi/ uchimata/ Harai goshi) Wrestling pummeling drills/ Arm drags/ level changes/ offense/ defense of double/ single legs complimented with BJJ/ positions/ transitions/ high percentage submissions( Ie street applicable MMA) Then you have yourself an formidable self defense system. I’ve stated this before Mr Valtellini but words of truth often can be repeated for the benefits of the hearers, as well as an validation to the one who is deemed worthy of the notion. “ Nothing more rewarding than getting ones thesis validated by those who exceeds oneself in excellence” You have aided me and my students more than I can say. Again, sincere appreciations for the honor of enabling all of us to observe and learn from such an peer as yourself. Sincere regards. Fellow Martial Artist. Tom Framnes. Norway.

I'm no expert, but I feel like reaching out to defend hooks/overhands is even more dangerous because of how exposed you are, the time it takes to extend, and there's a good chance you don't block them still. Why not stick with mma defense? The gloves don't make your hands that much bigger, so the principles should largely stay the same. Thanks for the vid tho Joe

In street fight,close range its elbow,create distance front kick,long range hopping or normal side kick/back kick,and at Medium range pure boxing. Do not use round kicks unless you have practiced them thousands of time. In terms of clinch i usually try to slam him however i can and run(i haven’t learned muay thi clinch,or wrestling hand fight or bjj,all i can do is a drop step lol) And do not knockout your opponent unless ur fighting in da hood,it causes a lot of commotion otherwise and you may be mobbed.

I like this channel cause all the content is very good and helpful but, talking about street fights and how to deal with heavy bare knuckle punches, is way much better to protect my head with a nice closed guard instead of put my arms away from my head; a very tight guard is the best option if you want your head safe and at the same time you look for the oportunity to close de distance in a rush and punish the attacker with elbows, headbutts, knee strikes, etc. Open guard, big arm movements and give to the opponent space to punch is for me a really big mistake

Yes, finally. Vindication for my fighting stance/style. I'm more of a defensive fighter, so I don't push or go offensive to use strikes to create openings, I wait for them to make an opening and come in quick, accurate and hard as possible and then retreat if it doesn't go my way. Also before anyone says it, I know I need to be more aggressive and go on the offensive, but it's hard for me. Anyway... I end up bladed a lot rather than squared because of this. But am left handed and studied fencing from a young age, and other primarily bladed stance hand to hand arts later, so I end up with a dominate lead. So people think I'm orthodox because of it. It's not even like I'm trying to do this to be like bruce lee or other famous dominate hand leads, it's just how everything kind of came together and meshes for me. "Footwork wins fights" 6:04

Never been in a street fight or attack but what I would do is: Helmet guard and/parry and back out when avoiding a fight. Parry and launch a furry if I want/have to attack, if too close clinch ,knee or guilottine. in my opinion, going as fast as possible is the right way. Most people aren't trained in the street, they don't know how to defend a trained fighter going all-out, but fights should always be avoided if possible.

As a bouncer I've learned that wrestling and boxing are the best combination for realistic self-defense. You can't really kick in crowded places (other than low-kicks), and you definitely never want to go to the ground with brutes and their friends around. But wrestling and boxing are always available to you in any realistic street fight, so this video really hits the spot. Thanks for sharing.

Why nobody ever mentioned the Jon Jones method : lean back a bit and throw a side kick/rear leg stomp straight to the knee cap ? That works miles better than trying to box against an opponent that you don't know. Long range, stomp his knee. Short range, clinch up and dump his ass on concrete with a hip toss. Why bother with punching back ?
@TheLockon00
@TheLockon00 2 года назад
Well, that technique rarely actually debilitates someone. Might have a better success rate on the street against someone who isn't in a proper stance and ready to brace. But I still wouldn't bet on it breaking their knee in one go, or anything. Risky defense to lean back and stand on one foot while someone's taking swings at you in a chaotic street encounter. I agree with the clinch and dump approach, though.
@jaketheasianguy3307
@jaketheasianguy3307 2 года назад
@@TheLockon00 i never suggest they will break their knee in one shot. Stomping on the knee cap with all your weight will do damage, if it break, good, if it doesn't break, it will still caused a slight freeze moment both cage and street alike so i could follow up and do my magic from the clinch. The most important part is still to know how to fight because just knowing how to stomp on ppl's leg will never save you
