Northern bluefish are much larger. Believe it or not, the best way I've found to cook them is to paint them with mayo and wrap them in foil on the grill. Put a few holes in the foil. The Mayo goes through the fish and eliminates any fishy taste. Fantastic!

Bleeding them also takes the fishy taste away to

Thanks for this video buddy! Bluefish are one of those fish many people underestimate as table fare but that recipe was nice and simple and the fish looked really good. I've always been a fan of bluefish and I agree with you 100% about keeping them cold and fresh to get the best quality out of them. I'd trim off the dark meat myself, particularly on the bigger fish but one like the size you caught there you can't go wrong with it. Keep 'em coming Mike and tight lines bro!

Funny I just cooked some chicken the same way the other night. I've never eaten blue fish but have heard they are better than people make them out to be.

I have this recipe in the oven with yesterday’s catch up here in Virginia. Bluefish, spot, roundhead, and grey trout.

We don't see many blues this far south. The best blue fish I have eaten was smothered in diced tomatoes and onions. That was many years ago in the mid-Atlantic. Cooking them with anything that will hide their strong taste should make for a good meal. I read some of other's comments that suggested bleeding them out. May try that the next one I decide to keep.

Shocked you didn’t bleed him out. Makes the meat taste way better and also is a quicker, humane way to kill the fish.
