Thanks man i did mine 4 inches apart was able to out 25 pieces in a pipe.now that you said it is possible to queeze in another 25 in between. Another question how high should i put it up. Is it above the chickens head some say level with the body.
ye basically aslong as the chickens can get there heads next to each other they will use them, so 2 inch will be fine. they tend to drink and eat at all different times depending on the pecking order anyway. so having the correct amount of drinkers and feeders only matters for local officials. or if your ever letting feed or water run out and they scramble to get at it when refreshed more space works better then
i also tend to mount them a little above chicken head height so when we build up the compost bedding layer in there house over time it leaves plenty of room for compost depth to build up
Not sure if they are too close or not but this would definitely work in a brooder cage (where chickens will live for 12 or so days until being moved to the grower cage which could have wider spacing.
@@FieldtoFarm_UKnot completely true. This looks like your confused and are talking about the space legally required for caged birds. Every six inches is better for the way you are raising them. Not that closer hurts anything at all.
