This video is a full tutorial, Showing you how to make your hope pro 4 hub extremely loud.
Making your hub louder will make your hub wear faster. I would advise keeping a small layer of grease around your pulls.

PLEASE NOBODY DO THIS. The creator does not know what he is talking about. Yes it would make your hubs louder but this is because when you remove the grease, the pawls hit into the hubs teeth directly with nothing in between them. What this means is that you will reduce the life of your hubs significantly. Removing the grease could void the warranty as well. If you just leave the grease in there it will sound the same but will last longer. The sound does not improve your performance. Instead save your money and get a better hub with higher points of engagement. This way you could even sell your old hubs and save a lot of money. If you follow the videos instructions, you will be left with a ruined hub and be put in a position where you NEED to replace it. Since you were not prepared for this, you could be having to take money you didn't want to spend, leaving you with a lower budget and worse hubs than the ones you began with.

@davidfw938
@davidfw938 3 года назад
@@natearellano4919 Grease add drag? Yes, but if you add tension over the pawls you also add drag even if there's not grease. Manufacturer put grease there to reduce friction and avoid premature wear. Wear won't destroy the hub like other comment says, but is common that the pawls start failing at the engage, they are supposed to engage all at the same time, when the wear is done they don't and it start making an annoying "creak" while pedaling. You can see that kind of drag in cheap hubs where there's too much tension on the springs and the bike pedals with the hub (and with normal bearings not the ceramic ones where it is normal) If you wanna make it louder the safe way you can clean the grease and use freehub oil like the one from Dumonde Tech. it will make it louder, reduce friction, and prevent wear, it won't last and protect bearings as the grease but it'll make the job on the pawls.

🤣 it's just like saying how to make your car gears sound louder. And you drain the oil out of the gearbox. So there's NO lubrication so it's metal to metal. why would you want to do that lol. Grease and oil is for moving parts. So they last longer and sound quieter. You not supposed to do the opposite lol.

DO NOT DO THIS…. This is why RU-vid should have never got rid of the dislike count. Just use a very very thin oil and it’ll sound louder

How to make your wife's voice louder: Destroy your hub, then buy new full wheelset. This will make your wife make noise

3:05 brief but exciting music starts here. Clothes-pinning some playing cards to flap in your spokes is something all the cool kids did back in the early 1970's when I had a bike with a banana seat, sissy bar, and ape hanger handle bars. The girls had streamers hanging from their grips so you could tell it was a girl bike.

I am going into the 3rd week waiting for a delivery for a Shimano free hub for my 2020 Specialized Turbo Levo . They say in it shipping but can't say when it will arrive . Summer flying by and I can't ride. The number on mine is fh-mt510-b . Would any of the other models be compatible ? I need the 28 hole version.

Would someone care to give me some mountain bike components? I'd like to build a bicycle. Any feature of a mountain bike can be useful.

I advise everybody to DO NOT do this. He is setting you up for failure and it could end up being expensive to replace

Your hub has 40 internal teeth, so that’s why you get the “loud” high-pitch sound, and not because of bending the paw springs. 👎

as a mechanic i would NOT do this, these are wear parts they require grease for their longevity clearing that grease out is going to wear that free hub out in no time

Bruh this hurts to watch. I know let’s take the grease so the pauls ride against metal that will make it sound great. 😃

This is stupid. I guess the benefit is that the pawls will eventually self-destruct and send the guy with the annoying hub home early.

I am totally lost here. Why do you want the hub louder ? More importantly, why do you want the hub louder at the expense of destroying the hub ?

I hope no one actually shred this to their hub. Increased friction, no grease or oil and wd40 to mess up bearings.

Step one buy a hub that sounds like that from factory. Step two don’t take advice from this guy unless you want your hub to fail

Seriously this is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen! Making it louder by removing the grease? Hey I an idea, let's take out oil from your car engine, that should make it sound louder 🤪

Could also just stick some playing cards in your spokes or a soda can on your wheel! /s This is pretty dumb though.

This is so stupid, Hope is engineering hubs for decades and you just bend a sensitive part in this perfect system. You shouldn't recommend so silly ideas in the web. Just clean the hub and use light oil instead of grease and here you are.

Clean the hub shortens the life of the hub Mainly you’re ruining your drive system

Hmmmmmmm no grease, I suppose so. You can also run your car with no oil, and it will be louder also.. For short time anyway I think the grease is to serve a purpose.
