I frign love this sharpener. I don't have the patience to sharpen tools by hand. This thing has made it easy to have super sharp tools. Sharp tools are much more fun to work with than dull!

I'm convinced. I hate hand sharpening. Thank you for making this video.

I use Japanese water stones, they last forever, no sanding disks to stock and replace and I can sharpens everything from my chisels to kitchen knives. I've been using straight razors for years, so sharpening a chisel takes about as long as that machine. Sharpening can be a pain in the ass, but with practice it becomes pretty easy and save you money over time. I use 3 stones, 1k, 3k and 8k stones... the 8k is for my razors. Think I paid about $30 to $50 per stone and I've had them for more than 10 yearss and there's plenty left. Not letting your tools get dull is the trick, you should only be touching them up on a finishing stone. But to each their own.

I love this video, everyone else wants me to buy diamond stones which would cost me about $500 as opposed to the $189 for this one. Thanks.

You can save some steel if you only hone your micro bevel at the highest grits. The primary bevel doesn’t have to be a mirror polish.

Where did you get that flat plate mounted right beside the tempered glass wheel. It doesn't come with that... at least mine didn't

How long do you suppose the sandpaper will last? Thinking of getting one, but wondering what long term cost is.

Can you save and reuse the sanding disks?

Duane Hurley yeah - they have abrasive stickers you change every once in a while (depending on how much sharpening you do) Good question thanks!
