In this video I'll talk about the best welder for beginners. The Miller Multimatic 220 AC/DC multiprocess welder In my opinion this is the best for beginners. How do I know this? Because I'm a total beginner to welding and the Miller Multimatic 220 made welding super easy to do. The welder uses a state of the art auto set feature that allows you to input your material thickness and wire or tungsten size, and the machine will automatically calibrate to the required settings for optimal welding. Another feature that makes the Miller Multimatic 220 great for beginners is that it will automatically configure your wire settings depending on which type of material you'll be welding. So if you're welding stainless, or aluminum, the machine will change settings automatically. This also applies to flux core. This means that just by pressing a button you are ready to start welding. This can save a lot of time. The miller also leaves room for you to grow as well. The welder can weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. It can also weld using TIG, MIG, and Stick. This is great because once you outgrow MIG or Stick welding you can try TIG. Of if you just want to weld something really fast and don't want to take the time to TIG weld it, you can just switch to MIG. The Miller Multimatic 220 has manual settings for times when you have outgrown the autoset features. This allows you to fine tune your welder just the way you want it. All in all this is a great welder for beginners and even pros. If you're looking for your first welder. Really consider the Miller Multimatic 220. *I was not paid by Miller

Hey GD- I’m a woodworker and furniture maker and have been wanting to get into welding to build my portfolio. I’ve been researching for some time now and I just happened to come across your video regarding the Miller 220- the machine I have seriously been considering and you just put me over the top. I will be purchasing this week. Thanks for the review and I will update you once I have some time on it.

I'm a welder fabricator for an industrial maintenance team and we have been using the Vulcan brands for over a year. They have worked absolutely flawless and has allowed us to crank out some serious work. As for me I've saved enough to get me a nice machine & literally just ordered my Miller 220. I rather have 1 machine than dragging around 2 machines. It's been a blessing that the Vulcan has held its ground but I feel like I can spoil myself a bit and buy me something a bit better. Loved your video bro. Very informative for the beginners out there.

Hello O G! I appreciate your valuable input on this video. The Miller 220 is an awesome machine and having one machine that can do it all is so convenient. Thank you for the kind words brother! Enjoy your new welder!

Damn, under 3k a year ago?! They're asking 4.2k now. Ya I would have bought this for 3k in a heartbeat. At this price it's hard to justify when I could get an HTP Pro Pulse 2200, and a Primeweld 225 and 2 125cf tanks for the same price. Anyway, just ranting, highly informative video. Subbed ✌️

TIG is like driving a stick car.... MiG is like driving an automatic. Great analogy! I agree by the way. I love TIG welding. I only have a DC TIG now and I would love to purchase this welder if I had the $. Stainless is tough for us beginners. Thanks for the video I enjoyed it.

Thank you Tom Foy! DC TIG is awesome! I actually find that I weld more with DC than AC haha! It is a bummer that the price went up on this machine, but I think it's still worth it. It can do so much. It's a forever machine. Yes! Stainless is very tough for beginners. I agree with you on that! One thing that has helped me with stainless is upgrading to a gas lens with a screen mesh, and a larger cup size. You're welcome! I'm glad I could be of service to you :)

For beginners? I do not agree at all. This machine is a beast even on industrial applications and for any type of welder. The best Miller machine so far, that's why this machine took a lot to release.
@GarageDynamics
@GarageDynamics 2 года назад
Hello Victor D. Mogollon, I agree with you 100%. I guess what I was trying to say is that it's a machine that you can grow into and still handle big jobs without the need to buy another machine later down the line.

I couldn't agree more - skip the 215 and jump straight to the 220. Buy once, cry once - no regerts here.

Very good video sir, really considering this welder now despite barely being able to spell the word "weld". I want to do metal legs and structures for my woodworking. Would this be overkill? Also do you or anyone that see this post know of site with projects and designs involving metal just so that I can get some ideas on what I could do with it other than table legs?

Hello Lynix Hosley, It could be a few things. Sometimes the shift linkage clip falls out and your car will shift through the gears, but not actually engage the gears in the transmission. Here is a link that might help you out. I hope this helps. Cheers! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xsVJThP2D1U.html

I just bought this, what circuit breaker is needed the plug says it’s 20amp 250v, but the manual saying it’s 40amp. I want to get a 240 receptacle installed in my garage and want to buy the right equipment. Thanks
@GarageDynamics
@GarageDynamics 2 года назад
Hello David Montes II, I'm not entirely sure on what size breaker you will need for 240. It depends on how many amps your main box can handle. That is something a professional electrician will be able to help you with. What I can say is that I'm using it on 120v with a 15 amp breaker and 10AWG power cord at 25 feet and it runs perfect. I hope this helps.

Hey could you help me realy quick? I've got a 2000 s500 and i had to get ball joints all changed. now i hear a knocking noise sometimes when i drive. could this be the strut or is it something else?
@GarageDynamics
@GarageDynamics 3 года назад
Hello Justine r, It could be a loose sway bar link or your ball joints. I just made a video on replacing your lower ball joint. You can view it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jntvXHKUYTE.html If you are still unsure I would suggest taking it in to a certified Mercedes Benz mechanic for further inspection. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Best welder for beginners, teaches your wallet to bleed out early. But you will have a machine that will last you a long long time and won’t hold you back.

$3600 beginner welder?
@GarageDynamics
@GarageDynamics 3 года назад
Hello BitsofBytes, At the time of making this video I purchased it for under 3k and that was with a good helmet. The prices have definitely gone up unfortunately. However, I still think the current price is good for a beginner. When you consider the quality of the welder. All the options you get, MIG, TIG, Stick welding. You can also weld Aluminum which is probably the biggest selling factor. Not to mention the Duty cycle is the highest in its price range. Plus, you get two bottle connectors and 120 and 240 power options. You really can't beat it. If you were to buy a MIG welder and a separate TIG welder, that alone would cost more than the price of this welder. Not to mention, you'll need another welding cart. Plus the Miller Multimatic 220 comes with everything you need to get started. Some beginner welders lack the accessories you need meaning you'll have to pay more. I'm not trying to sell the Miller brand, and I'm not a Miller fan boy, but I did the research and weighed my options and this welder was the best choice at the time. I hope this helps. Cheers!

I just ordered one, I've never owned a welder. We do CNC prototyping, low-volume production, and high-volume process development, so we definitely need AC TIG to do aluminum (fixture tweaking and repair). I would also like to have a MIG for doing basic fab work around the shop, so I'm eventually on the hook for 2 welders, and if I don't go bottom of the barrel on them, I'm already spending close to the $3400 for the 220. Aside from the fact that I like shiny new toys, there is no conceivable reason this one welder won't last me 20 years. If I somehow become a welding guru and the capabilities of the 220 don't meet my future needs, it will have well more than paid for itself. Long term thinking? The 220 looks like the ultimate "I just want one welder and I want to be done with buying welders forever" product for general purpose, lite duty use.

Buy a bunch of Chinese welders to practice on amd now ill have a bunch of them collecting dust in my shop as I surpassed them fairly quickly and now I'm buying a real welder
