Home Depot sells headband LED lights for $10 for 3. Its the most useful and practical light i have so far Put it on your head and the light is always with you wherever you look, especially working under the car.

Better than nothing but I don't go cheap on lights. I don't trust a $3.33 light to be reliable. I'm really tough on lights. My lights get dropped, smacked around, or covered in toxic waste and keep on working. I don't think I have a work light that is under $50.

@@GrnXnham yes, i wouldn't mind buying the best tool for professional use either just as cheap tools like the headlamp LED has its own use, greasing the U-joint under the car would be somewhat overwhelming to use an expensive light considering it will be covered in grease and dirt. Cheap lights has its uses, i put one in the glovebox, one in the garage and one in the basement. I guess im too cheap 😁

I use flashlights every day. I've had pretty good luck with the Coast led headlights. I use Streamlight flashlights. And recently picked up a few cheap harbor freight Quantum 215 pocket worklights. They work pretty well too.

Some nice options.. thx. I've used a particular one from Harbor Freight.. uses that same big 18650 rechargable battery. Magnetic, and can rotate. The light is thin so you can get it down into small places. Has low and high, and the tip can light up too..

Thanks Scotty. I need a bore light. I presume you can get it at a parts store. I am going tomorrow. By the way Scotty, I am 60 years old, and decrepit, and I need one because I cannot get down if i do i cannot get back up unless I have a chair or something like that sitting around and hopefully i can get up with out it not turning over with me. Scotty, I also have gone through many lights to work on cars for 50+ years. Living in Colorado also used an incandescent 100 watt bulb to keep engine warm in winter..haha!

Great video, Scotty! Especially interesting to me; I collect flashlights! I have over 400 lights... the oldest dates back to 1910! New LED lights are great... even more so with rechargeable batteries. I used two of them today while replacing a water pump! Keep up the good work!

Coast Portland has great lights. I have their rechargable headlight and pen light. Adjustable brightness and focus. I worked as a diesel mechanic and those lights are amazing. Used and abused but still work great 3 years later. Made in America too.

Scotty, I know this is not a new video but take a look at thislike they make another one that clips to the hood and shines under the hood that 1's okay. This one is fantastic not only is it versatile last a really long timeIt can be positioned hooked to directed andirected in any place in any direction you could think of the car is magnetic from theDoor to the subframe to the floor anything. I'll tell you what I've found are good flashlights. The Streamlight Strion series. I have 3 that I've had for years. Why do I have 3? Because, like 10mm sockets, flashlights tend to disappear. Fortunately, unlike 10mm sockets, I would find them......but only after I bought another one. And they're lifetime warranty through my Matco guy, so when the switches go out or the circuit boards fry, I get it fixed and have two backups. All for the low low price of an accumulated 390 bucks.

Rechargeable LED or LED light with rechargeable batteries all the way. Just make sure you get Samsung, Eneloop, Sanyo, LG, or any other trusted brand name batteries. Anything claiming 10,000 mAH is taking you for a ride. (Surefire is the worst lithium battery brand I've ever been tricked by.) You live you learn.

👍 Sofirm! 👌 Can't beat 18650 power. And yeah, who needs blinking, SOS, etc. Although a high and low level is nice as these LED flashlights can get hot when ran on high or "turbo" power for an extended period.

Thoughts on a 2010 Xterra 4x4 off road model, highest model they made. I bought it 2 years ago still have 4 year to pay it off but warranty it up next year but only has 75000 mile. Bought it with 50000. Haven't had any major promblems but don't now if I should keep it or not. I mean I love it except for the terrible gas what's ur opionion

The best light I've bought is the LED under-bonnet light. Fits just about any car bonnet/hood, lasts 3-4hrs on a full charge, isn't blindingly bright, and it can be unclipped for use under the car. Gives a great even spread for engine work.

I have this flashlight(using 1850 vape battery). Works great, I bought 2 ,attached on my motorcycle handlebars, which works nicely corning in the dark. I ride on the dark sometimes because my friend only have freetime at night.

I like the idea of mounting that big led one your giving away under the hood of my tj and hooking it up either to the hood switch or a toggle. So then I lift the hood pow we got light and I can point it where it needs to be. And I bet the draw is so low it would barely affect the Jeeps battery.

Dollar Tree has LED flashlights for...a buck and Harbor Freight has print and online coupons where they GIVE YOU a free LED flashlight just for going there.

I'm always hunting down misplaced small flashlights for working on my 1976 Porsche 914. I've never had a project car in my life and I'm not a mechanic so no wonder it's taking me so long, but it sure helps when I have enough light to see what I'm doing.

Scotty, you missed an entire class: the lights with and adjustable strap that attach to your forehead. Advantages 1) hands free 2) when you turn your head the light tracks to your visual field 3) lightweight 4) available with rechargeable lithium batteries and mini charging port and 5) inexpensive.

I use a nice bright Chinese LED lamp that straps to my head. It takes two 18650's in parallel and lasts for many hours. The light is always shining wherever I turn my head. I can crawl around under the car and there is always plenty of light. Forget fiddling with regular flashlights.

I have a rechargeable LED camping lantern with 3 brightness levels, a mini Maglite that I've had for at least 20 years, and an old school metal drop light that was made back in the early 1970s. That light and tripod would be awesome.
