Check out Manta Sleep here tinyurl.com/6xk7bxf5 and make sure to use code Savantics for 10% off your order! But yeah LankyBox is uhh certainly something. What are your thoughts?
I'd love one of those rn but it's too expensive in my country 😭 Also my opinion in lanky box that they're making kid's brains rot and making their brains not developing in a good way tbh
Honestly, there’s _no way_ the people who make kids content farms actually enjoy what they do. They absolutely shut off the camera, sit down on their $300,000 couch, and think, “What the actual hell are we doing for money.”
You be surprised how shameless these kinds of people are. They don't care. They're in it for the money. No person with any ounce of dignity would willingingly do this.
One of my favorite things that's happened involving Lankybox is when they tried to react the The Murder Drones series by Glitch, and the Murder Drones fandom practically banished them from the fandom by mass disliking their video
Fun fact: Both Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus are owned by the same animation company. It's not really related to the above comment but it's a cool fact nonetheless.
@jamesleung2446 I think that combine with the fact that it's darker [ in terms of tone ] and more violent than Digital Circus is what contributed to them never touching it again lmao. Then again, they seem to slap bloody sonic in their videos, which is also darker and more violent than TADC, so who knows.
I gotta say the Creators of tadc needs to do that so like lanky box and others don't steal them and use them for videos like what lanky box is doing@@Monchi_Bows
And unlike Lankybox videos, there's more heart, thought and time put into YTPs. That's why videos like "Dr. Phil Demented" and "The Sky Had a Weegee" are remembered fondly. They were silly shitposts, but they had lore and even art experimentation to carry them.
[I'd rather die from lead poisoning] but if i was genuinely forced to choose then Cocomelon, As shit as it sounds but atleast it hasnt give anyone an epileptic seizure just by watching it for 10 seconds
I love how ever since Sonic.exe, there have been "exe" versions of everything. Kids think that there's something scary about anything ending with .exe even though it's just a fucking file extension.
Yeah the creepypasta wasn't even named after the evil version of Sonic in it (who IIRC was unnamed in the original story), the titular Sonic.EXE was the file containing the spooky haunted Sonic game.
What’s even worse is that they’re poisoning the community I’m in by holding OSC animators on gunpoint so they can animate for their shorts, and also getting a guy to voice act some characters. My younger brother also watches this shit, and I hope he realizes that he is risking his mental sanity.
why did lanky box change all of a sudden 😭 I remember they used to do funny music video parodies of people like Taylor swift and blackpink and those were more hilarious and appealing than whatever they’re doing now with their “skibidi toilet in garten of banban MOD!!” videos
If they went back to making those types of videos, they could probably get more views than what their doing now, and that would be good for their minds/pockets because views=money
My younger brother watches them, and I don’t understand how he can even sit through this absolute brainrot. He’s even bought the plush that’s just a stick in a can for some reason. I genuinely fear for his brain cells.
might be a bit hard to do, and i have no idea how you'd go about it, but see if you can find a method to install some sort of parent block on his device and simply blacklist the youtube channel itself showing a "This content is not available in your region" box whenever he tries to watch
same exact thing, my younger brother watches them too, I've tried to tell my parents multiple times about not just them, but the elsagate style crap he's been watching and they've done nothing. Luckily my little sister is mature enough to kind of stay away from some of that.
Cannot wait for my chance to have an essay assignment about the detrimental effects of internet on kids so I can rant to the education system about these two
@@Rainbowpugz in this case, they're constantly banking on tadc's characters and using them for their videos, and they're making a hell ton of money from it. the tadc merch they bought in that video looks just horrifyingly bad and piss poor, making their generic merch look better. some unofficial merch is good, even better than the official kind, but you're misinterpreting the point of op's comment.
@@Rainbowpugzpretty much hit the nail on the head, though it is notable that this rule only applies to smaller IPs, like games and shows made by independent studios. Like, no one's going to give a shit if you buy unofficial Spider-Man merch
Unfortunately this is the fate of anything that gets too popular. We need to get back to the days where the internet was just a bunch of separate communities talking about their common interest.(I am 14 years old btw, there is still hope)
@@tronsropit's not like this kind of kids content is unavoidable. I can't remember the last time it appeared on my recommended. The problem is that so many little kids are getting overstimulated all the time. I'm 14 as well, i already have a bad attention span from just using the internet a lot. Imagine what's happening with these kids..
Is there a way we can inform more parents about their content? Most adults see lanky box as just another toy brand that sells stuffed animals to kids and not a greedy corporation making millions off of destroying children’s mental health
I find it hilarious how Adam lives a life where he views himself as non-marketable so they change how he looks in their products but doesn’t just dye his hair blonde or something
I vaguely remember always seeing thumbnails with his hair blue but this was like when they FIRST made the switch to brainrot content. Ig Justins the only one who doubled down on being marketable💀💀
I can't even look at this without feeling overwhelmed and dizzy, I'm 20 years old, imagine how this is affecting toddlers! these monsters should be in jail!
I remember last month I went to my younger cousin bday party , majority of the kids there were like toddlers to 10 and they had lanky box playing in the living room full blast it gave me a headache and the drive back home was horrible
My niece is obsessed with these people, the other day she told me she has a boyfriend (she’s 5) and I asked who, she pulled up a picture of JAX. I kid you not.
Hi! Former Lankybox editor here, so I think I can give some insight First of all, consider me a new fan of yours, I mean seriously, very fun video, and I agree with pretty much everything being said, the channel is the epitome of a content mill, I was one of like 50 editors lol, they've got tons and tons of editors for each channel, and the sole purpose is to make the most out of the nothing that you're given, basically making the most money for the least work possible. It's very rare a new video is actually made, the majority of things you see from Lankybox are old bits of content - for the reaction videos there are literally people who's whole job it is to clip up certain reactions that can be re-used for upcoming reaction videos, so that way they don't even need to record, they can just play a video and have those clips up in the background whenever something related to them happens. The only time you do see new content as you said is to promote new merchandise or business ventures that the company is trying to start up, and the editors once again are also told to constantly promote these new ventures, whether it be popups in compilation videos or constant watermarks of plushies. Now that being said... Lankybox is very good to everyone associated with them, all the editors, including myself were always treated amazingly to be honest, so there is absolutely no foul play going on in that regard. They actually tend to overpay if I'm honest, I won't say exactly in public but I can tell you in private - all I will say is that we would get paid at least twice what we realistically should've been, and the work because there's so much reuse was piss easy. Some people are just on the compilation channel, all they have to do is edit a few 20 second intros every week, and that's literally their job! And that alone is enough to live off of in my opinion. Lankybox is giving a lot of people in rough spots like I was at the time, a really great chance to make a living, as well as propel your career, because now I can say I worked with a multi million dollar company that has tens of millions of subscribers, and that looks amazing on the resume. I just want to make it clear that whilst yes, Lankybox is absolutely a content mill that produces frankly shit content for wee silly babies, I think it does more good than bad, and I personally am incredibly grateful to have worked there as it's largely the reason I'm where I am today, working as a full-time RU-vid editor for ImAllexx, and I couldn't be enjoying life more. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions from people who read this or even yourself Savantics, whether it be in the replies or on Instagram or something (it's linked on my channel) Cheers for reading! Edit - something interesting about the merch, you know those videos of people playing with Barbie dolls or mario plushies and giving them voices making stories and such? Lankybox did this thing where they would ask people who were interested, usually found on Reddit, to record a video similar to that, with little editing, maybe some music and some cuts but that's it, the less work the better, but it had to be a story with some kind of coherence, and it had to be clear that they were trying at least somewhat (you get the idea) Anyways, if they liked the video you made they would send you a big box of Lankybox plushies and offer, in my view, genuine full time rates to make those videos with the Lankybox plushies, like a dumb amount of money for what is such simple and easy work. Just thought that was interesting so I'd add it on, once again I have to respect it - it doesn't harm anyone - all it does is give people a great chance to make a living and give life a good go!
@@mr.foxasmg honestly I never really spoke to them, I only really spoke to the head of the editing teams and such, but they seemed normal af when they weren't in recording mode tbh
I found one of their toys in pack at a thrift store. I just assumed it was from a generic toy company. So I bought it because it came with a lanyard that I THANKFULLY never used. 😬 Thank you for making me find out that this was their merchandise. So I may now set this on fire.
I'm 15 and I think maybe I ought to buy bootleg merch to pay them back for what they did with those knockoff Digital Circus plushies (literally pretended they were official knowing they were dirty bootlegs).
As someone who works in retail, I constantly see their stuff in toy aisles, along with a book in the entertain department and just like what happened when Disney’s Wish came out, barely anyone buys them. If anyone even decides to buy their shit
Used to watch them when they made music video parodies. Such a fall from grace😞 (Edit 1) But seriously, I stopped watching them after the whole Roblox piggy era, came back in 3 years cause I was curious and literally thought I was looking at a different channel.
Gooseworx absolutely HATES this kind of content farm garbage, but she asked GLITCH and apparently they don't plan to do anything about it. Idiotic brand move tbh
@@lovestrucktheidiot The problem is that they can't really do anything. And I'm pretty sure that right now they have to spend their money on making Murder Drones and TADC episodes, and not on a court case against a content farm channel that makes MILLIONS off of their brand.
“And of course, another signature move of theirs Is shoving the plush towards the camera in hopes it will break through the screen and they could stick it down your throat” had me DEAD.
My brother (6) watches them(and other content farms) ... But when we go to Walmart he forces me(16) to bring him to the Toy section... He bought half their merch, my parents let him buy their brainrot merch. And i cant buy my favorite RU-vidr merch thats actually worthy of having and to contribute to the channels like Savantics merch or couple of my other favorite RU-vidrs...but he can get content farm merch thats crappy?
i hope you are able to enlighten your parents about the horrible, harmful reality of these two youtubers :/ and that genuinely sucks, your parents are being unjust and unfair by not buying you things but doing so for your brother, i'm so sorry. hugs 🫂
You want me to pull the old “Hippity Hoppity, your Ssspinal Cord isss now my property” on your little brother? All I need isss hisss location and he won’t be buying ssstinkybox’sss bullshit merch any time sssoon.
Their videos use the be good. From 2018-2020 they made Kpop related videos(Their low budget kpop music videos) which I actually enjoyed and thought were funny and after they decided to shift there content I’m like what the hell happened
Yeah, it's estimated LankyBox makes in the hundreds of thousands monthly. So when I said cheap I did mean it in reference to their wealth. Cause $42 isn't just an ignorable amount for most any of us
There really need to be laws against this kind of "content". They're not gonna stop these predatory tactics until they spend some time in a cell with Big Bubba for it.
@@Luigicat11 good idea but then arises the discussion of "censorship" and should the platforms really control the content to this degree, i mean yea their content is absolute garbage but its not inherently "harmful", kids who watch them will grow out of it
@@trashygamesyt What are you even on about? Platforms should just let mass-produced Elsagate sludge overtake them? You don't think deliberately exploiting underdeveloped minds by drawing them in with buzzwords and then shoving ads they won't be able to distinguish from actual content in their face is harmful? I could see the censorship argument if it were just about the cringe, but surely you can see how spam and swindling should have negative repercussions.
@@Luigicat11 eslagate was different because it included sexual and fetish content disguised as kids content, lankybox and just making goofy videos for kids, channels like colinskey make similar overstimulating kids content, and i used to watch him, now i don't, cuz i grew out of it, also lets say that youtube does ban channels which spam content, you think that will stop them? if there's a will there's a way, they will find loopholes to avoid getting banned while still spamming content
@@trashygamesyt Ohhh you think I'm talking about Lankybox specifically. That explains a lot. No I was talking about the whole Incredigate/Skibidigate/Elsagate2.0 thing that Lanky's exploiting the demographic of (albeit in a less harmful way than many others). I should probably clarify: I wouldn't necessarily say he's part of Skibidigate since his content lacks the weird fetish stuff, but y'know, it's kinda like if there were someone during the Elsagate days who isn't making Elsagate content _per se,_ but they still feature Spider-Man and Elsa in mass-produced "how do you do fellow kids" videos to get clicks from the same people Elsagate is targeting. He's using Pomni and Skibidi Toilet in that same exact way. Regardless, you've got a point. We'd be plucking at leaves if we went after the content itself. The root of the problem is the fact that parents are content to let a screen raise their kids rather than do the raising themselves, y'know, like a parent. If parents actually raised their kids instead of plopping them in front of a screen unsupervised, Elsagate most likely never would've even happened, let alone been a facet of history that would repeat (and will probably repeat again, let's face it). But of course, when something goes wrong because of kids being left alone with the everything box, parents will blame anyone but themselves (not that the blame is undeserved in the case of content farms, but you know, can't farm a crop that won't grow).
Finally People started talking about how shitty LankyBox Really is, My younger brothers used to watch them all the time on the TV Before we banned all RU-vid content for him and Beside just being Annoying asf, I just felt getting dumber by the second while listening to them in the background and this is just me listening to them once or twice imagine how my brother would act if we let him keep watching this shit.
As a later Gen Z, whenever I see younger kids watching Lankybox on their IPads (it's pretty often) I go up to them, introduce myself, and politely change what they're watching to something better for their brains. It was really sad when once a kid didn't even have the attention span to sit through one innocent Pokemon animation and switched it almost immediately.
I almost cried while reading this. I must say, I'm very glad that Fraggle Rock came back, that is SO much better. (I'll be very sad if LankyBox tries touching that, especially since they live in Seattle where the performer of my favourite character grew up.)
this is a part of the reason why im thinking about writing child appropriate shows in the future. because ive seen a lot of garbage aimed at kids because of content farms and ai recently everywhere and its frustrating. i want to make real actual stuff that kids can grow up with and be entertained by and LEARN stuff from. im 15 and i grew up with shows like my little pony g4, arthur, cyber-chase and later odd-squad, veggietales, martha speaks, stuff like that and i want to make stuff like that for other future generations to be able to grow up with. bluey is a good example of what i think kids SHOULD be growing up with, especially the very young ones which is likely the audience that not only lankybox but so many other content farms are targeting their content at. i dont care if something is ''just for kids'', they should be growing up with good stuff.
in fact i do already have an idea for a show, and its one that ive been writing ever since i was the target demographic that i plan to aim the actual show at which is audiences 12+. basically, imagine scooby do (minus the velma show, that one is garbage, im talking about the fun goofy stuff) but for edutainment. i want the show to be entertaining but i also want it to have subtle lessons that can be learned in each episode, mostly relating to emotions and how certain things you do can affect others or even yourself, taught through the supernatural/paranormal. i even have the characters for it already.
if you want to know a bit about the characters: the show would center around two main characters, mew and clover. clover is a chronic optimist with a fascination in the supernatural, while mew a new in town angsty teen and quite the shut in, at first. somehow, these two end up being friends despite their first few interactions being quite rocky, to say the least... but as the two go and explore together, they begin to learn from each other, too. mew learns to lighten up a little and learn what they're good at (which is quite a lot!) while clover learns to have a healthy amount of skepticism and to be more independent. what do you guys think?
Solid foundation, a bit basic(i.e. elaborate enough in order to have a clear picture of the characters),know how to walk fine line between lighthearted and serios(I assume even adults can enjoy it without beeling juvenile), try to put a unique spin on every character defining moment(i. e. have a secret deeper meaning). Remember, your first draft will NOT be perfect, remember to practice writing them like they are different living people(not an extension of yourself, but you can put your attributes into them). Good luck on your journey and REMEMBER, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT GO TO PITCH IT TO ENTERTAINMENT CHANNELS, ONLY THOSE SIMILAR TO PBS, BECAUSE THEY WILL GUT ITS SOUL FOR EVERY DOLLAR POSSIBLE !!
I will not be able to respond regulary, I hope you have a nice day, good luck on your journey. Remember, take as much inspiration as possible from anywhere at anytime, I recommend keeping a notebook for all the moments that could inspire you.
@@BleplebeianLove the idea and I've had the same thought process. Most media aimed at kids nowadays think kids are dumb and "Bright colors, I like". Which they aren't, they're still learning the world around them, they're not stupid, they're just simple.
I have two half brothers. One only watches real life videos of farm machinery, primal building videos, and the occaisional gaming video. One watches lanky box, has lanky box merch, and gets into screaming and cussing fits when he gets upset or isn't allowed to use the tablet. They don't live together, so when I go to my dads house and see the dog trying shake the life out of the lanky box fox, part of me dies. I love them both but i'm very concerned about what is happening to my brother's brain development.
Your dog has the right idea but you should be concerned about your siblings mental health I told my parents about Roblox and they banned my brother off it to save his sanity and get him to play real video games
I can remember when I used to watch them, much before they became a content farm. They made good content, and I was ready to see how far they’d go in their career of music parodies But then, They became a content farm.. it hurts to see people fall like this because I genuinely enjoyed their older content.
I think I saw an ad from them on RU-vid one time, it was half animation half vr chat avatars being weird AF. It felt like a fever dream and a night terror smashed together in Hell and I wanted everything and everyone to cease existing including myself.
havent heard of them for a long time.. 5 years ago they collabed with my favourite girlgroup and then now... oh... what happened.. the intro to this alone is worrying 😭
At least the zero budgets were made with actual soul, even though it can be a bit cringe, but it was like around.. What? 2018-2019 when those videos were created?
Yeah, Lankybox is the definition of the sin of greed. They used to just make low effort music videos. However, when youtube started changing, they had to change up to stay relevant. However… they chose the wrong path, and fell into greed and content farming. anyways yeah good video
3:28 Wait so they don’t give a shit when using copyrighted characters like Sonic and make millions off of it but when someone uses something they made they go batshit and flag you to hell and back.
Honest i dont blame the youtubers for trying to just make money, nor blame the kids for watching this stuff......i blame the PARENTS of these children the most, cause there the ones who put them infront of this garbage
Do you believe that parents always know everything about anything? The one to blame is RU-vid themselves for letting people like LankyBox on the platform and giving him money.
@@maximeleninja4029 the parents should be monitoring what there watching kids shouldn't be on RU-vid regardless, even RU-vid kids which has show it has alot not for kids stuff on it
