Season 1 Episode 09 The Cooper-Hofstadter Polarization. Leonard is about to present a paper made by both him and Sheldon. Sheldon, however was opposed to presenting the paper, and he'll show up in the conference...
RyoMasterAce I know that was the joke. Why bring Jesus into this? Do you know Him as your Lord & Savior? If you died today, is your heart right with God? Have you acknowledged that, without Him, you're broken & unworthy of His holy presence?
this scene has been in my consciousness ever since I saw it . when a teacher ends his lecture with " is there any question about that ? " I can't help myself but to think with myself saying , " yeah , what the hell was that ?" and then I start chuckling LOL
LoL that takes guts. actually one time something kind of similar happened, I just watched the interaction. there was this very hard course we had at university and clearly our teacher didn't understand what was going on eaither. she just memorized some stuff and was writing them on the board. no one had any idea what was going on, suddenly a student got a little frustrated and said out of no where "teacher what is going on, do you yourself understand what is going on?" they had a short, heated argument. It was quite fun to watch. @@Jdjfbficjenenwk3736
+Khalil Williams Now that we've seen Leonard's father, I think it should now be this line: "My name is Dr. Leonard Hofstadter and I could never please my mother, so I've been getting praise from my father and I need to get all my self-esteem from strangers like you. BUT HE'S WORSE!"
@Linkus McDinkus I heard a story where Newton found out about gravity because the Apple fell but he observed it moving eastward while falling to the ground
Leonard being a scientist knows it is not possible to blast someones head like that but Leonard knowing Sheldon's capabilities still feels uncomfortable.
Leonard has in fact said that "You don't want to get into it with Sheldon. The guy's one lab accident away from becoming a super villain." Not counting also that by raw academic intelligence he's a once in a generation brain, anyway.
Does anyone find it weird that there's a character on a show you hate, but at the same time he's your favorite character because of all the humor he creates? For me that character is Sheldon.
I don't hate him because it's quite clear he's got some kind of a condition. His mother after all never went to Houston😉. She did love him however and that he's not as insecure as Leonard is !
yes the first ones may be more unhinged but at the same time I love the character development over the years… I love how you get to know and adore the characters more and more and also see them change and evolve season after season until you feel like part of a family
I can tell they redid the scene twice. In Howard's video, Raj looks at Howard when Sheldon brings up the splash zone. But in the normal clip here, he's still looking at Leonard and Sheldon fighting.
Doesn't that show how mentally immature Sheldon is. He thinks he is so smart yet doesn't something like that which you might see in a cartoon. He proved himself to be mentally stunted.
I used that Spherical Chickens joke in my college; some are laughing with me, others don't. I really enjoyed watching both Sheldon and Leonard fight in the conference. :D
Well IDK why people are overcomplicating it, the simple example is that Physics calculation usually involves some ideal case assumptions being made such as 'The ground is frictionless', 'The ball is perfectly spherical'. etc. This joke is based on the same thing, the solution, the Physicist suggested would work only if the chicken were spherical and in vacuum.
Assuming he went to an American university that would mean he started at 16/17 which is quite decent as it means that he was able to be accelerated in earlier school years and could still cope with degree level study at a younger age than the other students.
During my masters in Engineering, I read a paper in front of some 40 people and damn I was nervous. Then suddenly I realised, most will not understand, some are batchmates and only two out of 10 professors in front row may give some flying fuck. And I nailed it like a champ atleast in my books, may be only in my books. 😂
He didn't but only in the 30 second clip at the end when you watch it online after you type in "Physicists Gone Wild" done by the real Wolowizard himself.
This is the episode that got me hooked. I was flipping channels and came across this exact scene here, with Sheldon in "disguise" and thought what is this??
